David Benefiel our cleanliness inside is fully complying with our local EHO standards,perhaps the opening shot of the fruit is somewhat off putting to you,this fruit is mechanically picked from the commercial orchard floor with all the associated leaves/debris,the bulk hopper moving floor and the starcoils aims to remove the bulk of it prior to washing and inspecting the apples going up the mill elevator,once milled into pomace it enters a fully enclosed system that is routinely washed down,perhaps you are confusing this with US style apple cider production using prime hand picked fruit from bins.

One thing to keep in mind, this is for alcoholic cider production. Any pathogens that would be in it at this stage won’t survive the fermenting process once a high enough level of alcohol is present in the cider.

What exactly is filthy? I see nothing untoward.

This is the early stage of an alcoholic cider drink. Any pathogens are destroyed in the fermentation process. No need to be concerned at this point in production.
