I am a delivery driver. The "PEOPLE TURNING SLOW" Thing is not a joke. I can vouch for you Mr.Regular. People on my rout do a great job of getting in the way when making a basic turn, and on one occasion I witnessed it cause a car accident. A pick-up came to a almost complete stop taking a right turn into a gas station, ANOTHER pick-up truck went around him and a 3rd pick-up slammed into the read end of the guy who was still creeping around that scary gas station entrance.

I will counter and say that if I put my turn signal well into advance before slowing down, and you have the opportunity to change lanes or prepare that I'm going to slow down to make my turn, then you should pay more attention or get into a lane that doesn't have so many turn in opportunities. I'm big on contingency planning. Pay attention, keep your distance, and don't put yourself in a situation where you might need to stop abruptly. If you're going to text and drive, at least be smart enough to give yourself room up ahead.

Cars like these are what I like to call flagship cars. They are exactly like flagship smartphones, you know the ones that call for at least a grand and most people only get with a plan so they can trade in in a year or two for the next one? The features, abilities, and looks they withhold demand your respect and they have enough weight to them that you *know* how much they cost and you are required to be responsible whenever it's in your hands. And the S550 and cars with the same level of power and desire to run demand you have the same level of control with them, it's a neat feeling if you ask me

7:18 - I have been in the Mustang community since 2007. Almost every new generation always gets the chicken little' this is the end' treat, until they spot something familiar (like the 8.8 rear, or some retro vinyl pack) that calms the nerves. The problem with the Fox Body squad is that deep down they know they own the worst generation of mustang, but they've dumped so much money into polishing that turd of a car that it's too late to turn back. Not being overtly outspoken about the perceived greatness of their cars for even a moment would be admitting to themselves that had they instead used all the money they spent on "performance" parts to buy literally any other generation of Mustang would have resulted in them owning a better car in every measurable way.

Being born in a small southern town in Texas ruined the Mustang for me, every girl had a used SN95 automatic V6 and every guy with richer parents had a low mile GT with an exhaust in high school. Youd leave school and run into 25 mustangs before you even made it out of town while that one straightpiped 2010 GT aggressively tailgates everyone even though both lanes are 8 cars deep and nobodys going passing anyone. I guess what he means is that, compared to the old 302, the Modular 4.6 felt like a half-assed attempt at modernizing the V8 engine. It wasn’t till the four-valve modular and the Coyote that the American overhead cam V8 started to show real improvements over the cam in block competition

@OuijTube
@OuijTube 2 жыл бұрын
@@KacerRex stock for stock, the 2-valve 4.6 Modular was probably an improvement over the 302. Hell, it’s been proven to be a pretty durable motor in the Crown Vic. But it is/was harder to modify a 2v modular to make much more power without adding boost. A lot of the usual hot rod tricks like cams and heads are harder/more expensive on the modular than the 302. It also has the 50th anniversary edition trim. (Just the trim, but all of it from the factory) It ALSO has a 2.5” Bassani catback. I purchased this car used in 2020 for $31,900 with 30k miles, in the cars’ 6th year of life. I have never added or changed any part on this car since purchasing it, and I’m not sure that I will, and here is why: It looks amazing, from afar and up close, black when kept clean is a commanding color. This car demands attention and unfortunately not everyone graced by the keys to a sports car knows what to do with them. I thought I was ready for a car like this, and I was not. The first night I brought it home, I hit 120 mph in 5th gear, and there was a tad bit of rain later that night so I got her a bit sideways while cruising the streets. My ex girlfriend was not happy, and never really liked being passenger. In the first 3000 miles I never really understood why 3rd was so crunchy, and it would grind even on downshifts where the clutch was fully depressed? I decided they didn’t see it an issue great enough for repair when purchased so I used line lock and obliterated 3rd. New trans for $100 (always look for a good and useful warranty) I had the car for another 2k miles, oil change looked great, and one night while driving in the far left lane, a construction affiliate pickup crossed from the carpool lane over a dead lane filled with about 4.5 Million lil rocks. Black mustang?? No, it was now grey. That process insurance handled and the whole car was repainted, and the a/c condenser replaced, with aftermarket parts unbeknownst to me. Eventually, somewhere near 42k miles it develops what sounds more like a light exhaust rattle than a knocking and it turned out the engine was indeed a goner. She’d seen maybe 7k rpm’s 5 times? I always let her warm up before any drive and I tried to keep from heat cycling it unnecessarily. Oh well. $500 (they made me pay for the rental) New engine. Now at 47k miles, she blew the aftermarket, ford dealer repair facility replaced A/C compressor and it sent material all around the bay of a brand new engine. This means when they swapped the engine they noticed the part was aftermarket and did/said nothing. I continue driving with the replaced parts, but there is still noise from the damaged serpentine belt they refused to also replaced because it is considered a wear item. We both know it was a result of that bad compressor but, whatever. The car is lovely, even if dealers and warranties and luck might not always be. The transmission when not abused can still feel entirely cheap at times because it is. The MT-82 as a transmission is okay, but the stock shifter is also pretty dogwater. The coyote is nice. Brakes are great. Fuel economy if you’re addicted to the sound, and speed of a V8 powered muscle car, is pretty painful. You CAN get 25mpg on 91, at 65mph. If you live in say, Southern California? Good luck. I average 15 :) Interior on the premium? Executive level for an American pony car, that shares its highest trims with the rental fleet. The seats are air cooled and heated. The interior features ¿leather? seats, leather accents, and in my example an “engine spun aluminum” inspired interior decoration on the passenger side. The sound system is mint. Shaker sub works well. Sound on the aftermarket exhaust are all different, so I’ll just say I wish I could hear it. Everyone else loves it, but I can’t hear it. Ford knocked it out of the park with this car, but, there are issues to look out for. Overall, great car, in a decade if these go sub $20k for a 60k mile or under example, get one. Prepare for expensive repairs if they come, and know these aren’t as easy to repair or modify as mustangs past.

6:25 I used to wonder this as well. But then I let my monke brain enjoy the satisfying feeling watching gauges and needles go BRRRRRRRRR whenever I engage throttle. The even more useless thing about it, is that it only comes on Performance Package models. however, the gearing on those models isn't good for Boost, so people end up just buying a non PP trim to later boost, since out of the box, non PP models are actually CHEAPER to boost. Otherwise PP owners are stuck having to swap it later in the aftermarket. AKA putting boost gauges on the model that isn't even the most optimal trim to boost really just showed that gauge was indeed just there, for the HURR BURR NEEDLES Thankfully I just AutoX my Mustang so I don't ever need to boost it. I actually love the way it feels and sounds pure NA. I have an annoying cat meowing Z06 for my stupid boost needs.

It’s not only useful on the track, but even making turns on a daily drive becomes more smooth, and more fun once you get the hang of it. What might make it easier to learn is first start by practicing rev matching on your downshifts if you aren’t already.

@@zackmagic4242 Yeah at this point downshifting has been second-nature, but haven't quite made the leap to heel-toe yet. I've become so well-tuned to the second part, I hadn't bothered learning heel-toe, but I still feel like heel-toe would be quicker

Low Vac, means low intake of air, so the lower it is on the dial, the better gas milage you get, but it may encourage people to go 38 mph in 6th gear, and any hill will bog it unless you see it ahead and give it a bit of gas, or wait and do a sick downshift. Hey RCR or anyone who is reading this. In the defense of a vacuum gauge I own six cars and to use a vacuum gauge is really useful for figuring out miles to the gallon! And also the general health of an engine. It’s a really old-school way of tuning however many do not know how to use it. Especially when you have a new car why should you even care? But for 90s cars and you want to make sure that you have good performance if you have a vacuum leak it can greatly affect her miles to the gallon! And also performance. And if you have a good vacuum system then you can ride a sweet spot a vacuum where you’re not to on the gas and not to off the gas making it hard for you to get to places. Is it hard? It’s a habit. And I don’t have the habit, but it’s a very useful tool for making sure that you have performance and know how to drive a car when there are six different vehicles in the act very different due to their gearing and their displacements. /tldr it’s a mystery gauge to most that probably will help future drivers when the car is old and most don’t care
