Very good video. I hope it’s the same on my 2010. I believe the uppern lower are both be clicking. Let’s get to it. I’d rather remove the gas pedal than remove whole dash

Hey, thanks a lot for the helpful video. It's great to see how the plastic panels come off because I'm always terrified I'm going to break something. Since you showed all the spots, I was able to identify the correct motor without even pulling panels and the suggestion to remove the accelerator pedal was ingenious. Mine was that one and the gears looked identical to what happened with yours. Only one question. Is the tool you used to pull the plastic panels plastic or metal?

That one is plastic. You can search amazon for a cheap set trim removal tools and you'll see what I bought. They are like 8 dollars.

That’s, a lot of help. Also, how did you get rid of the Chimes noise when the door is open???
@WhitetailGarage
@WhitetailGarage Жыл бұрын
I didn't do anything on that. With ignition off and the door open it doesnt chime for me.

Any clue on cabin air filter? Not behind the glove box. Thinking plastic pc under it.

I don't think there is one. I can't find any info online and looking behind the glove box, under the airbox and under the hood I don't see one on the 2015 I have. Anybody out there know otherwise, let us know.

Thank you for the video Sir. I just replaced one of the actuators in the rear. Replacing the second rear one today. I am also going to switch the front driver side one today. My rear actuator has been clicking for months and finally went out completely and basically stopped clicking. I noticed recently that my AC is going from pretty cold to not so cold at times. It continues this process every few minutes. Would these blend door actuators maybe cause this problem? All of my other AC components are brand new as of about 45 days ago. The AC has been blowing ice cold since the new compressor install. Until the other day when it started going from very cold to slight cool continuously. Do you think these blend door actuators being replaced may solve this issue? thanks again

It possibly could, but that is on of a lot of possibilities. Really need to be able to see if those blend doors are moving when the issue occurs. These newer vehicles where everything is crammed together makes it tough. Bad compressor, bad sensor(s), wrong amount of refrigerant, and many other things could be the issue though. I'd start with listening to see how the compressor behaves during an occurrence of the issue. That will at least begin narrow the search. Sorry I understand that isn't exactly helpful.

@@WhitetailGarage I replaced the one in back which took care of my clicking issue. FYI; I had to get part #604-203 which says does not fit but it did. Still having the problem of no air flow up front while the rear is fine. Do you think replacing those two up front will do the trick or is it possibly the fan or something else? By the way, I am having no clicking up front as all that was from the rear. Restricted air flow up front is my issue. Thanks again!

I am having the same click you show in your video from the rear area. The rear A/C is working fine but I am getting little to no air flow up front. Could it be the rear blend door actuator? If so which one would I need for the rear? The strange thing for me is to replicate the noise I either need to turn the rear A/C off or simply open a door. Not really sure of the correlation.TIA!

Those are different systems. Well, different airflow systems. Separate ducting, blend doors, and blower motor. The air flow in the front has no effect on the air flow in the rear and vice versa. What is likely happening in the front is a blend door is stuck where it is flowing air out multiple place and reducing the strength of the air flow. You could also have a bad blower motor up front or another restriction. I have seen grocery bags get sucked into the recirculate door and cause a clicking from that blend door actuator and a reduction and air flow. Generally there are other noises along with that though. I am not sure of that correlation either. Interested to see if any other viewer has had the same symptoms.

I have a 15 MKC and it dont click but my AC is cool on one side warm on the other. You think its the same issue? Or blend door?
@WhitetailGarage

Same issue different blend though. It could be the controller but typically isnt.

I have a 2016 and there is no clicking noise but the rear won’t blow hot or cold air I switch it back and foward from the front control and rear controls from cold to hot and no difference could it be what you switched out?? The front ac works fine
@WhitetailGarage
@WhitetailGarage 2 жыл бұрын
The rear ac has it's own blower motor behind the passenger side interior quarter panel. If it isn't blowing at all I would start by testing that. Pull the interior quarter out or away far enough, unplug the fan and give it 12 volts from another power source. In the rear you have two blend doors (to my knowledge) floor to ceiling control and hot to cold control.

Do you know how many blend doors it actually has because I’m having a problem with mine where the air recirculator is not working and it’s only sucking air from outside?

There are 3+ actuators in the front air box alone, depending on options and trim. You are looking for the air inlet actuator. I believe it is on the far passenger side of the air box for the 2015s. You may have access behind the glove box, but I have had to replace that yet, so not entirely sure. Thanks for watching!

How did you make sure you put it back in the correct position? Did you turn temp down to hot, cold or half way?
@WhitetailGarage
@WhitetailGarage 7 ай бұрын
Honestly, the pin only goes one way, so I installed it as close as it could be to the original and rotated it into position.

Do both of those front actuators control temperature, or does the left side control mode and does the right side control temperature
@WhitetailGarage
@WhitetailGarage 10 ай бұрын
I am not 100%. I believe one is temp and one is defrost and vent selection.
@BriggsGuy54

@@WhitetailGarage Thanks for the reply. I think you're right. The second temp one is on the bottom of the HVAC unit in the center, accessible by the drivers feet. Its very tight to do.
