I feel your pain with those hydraulic tensioners I’ve seen these fail from the factory with 30k miles on the cars

I have a 2019 Mazda CX-5 and I am wondering if this is the same engine as mine? I wonder if it has (more?) FoMoCo parts since it's an earlier model year?

19 no your all mazda goods no fomoco stuff at all.. all mazda skyactiv! the 2019s come with the same 2.5L n/a or 2.5L turbo skyactiv

My wife’s 15 Mazda 6 makes a god awful squealing when you go to accelerate. As soon as you let off the gas, it starts squealing again 🙄 Dealer claims to have fixed the tensioner and replaced belt but I don’t believe the tensioner was touched. Would you assume it’s that tensioner?
