2015 Ram Eco Diesel Water Pump

I lost my intro to the vehicle clip so it is right into the work. This truck needed a water pump and thermostat replacement done. a few covers and pipes have to be removed to gain access. Labor guide is 3.5 hours to do the job. Over all it is not super hard to replace just tedious to get to.

I can't thank you enough for this!! I have a '15 ED, and am ready to go outside to do the job. Someone on Facebook said it was going to take about 4 hours, and you're saying three and a half. I'm slow so it'll probably take me 6, but maybe this video will get me down to 4. TYVM!!

Josh, I'm wanting to drain the radiator and refill. The EcoDiesel doesn't have a typical radiator cap, so it looks like the only way to fill is through the degasser bottle (overflow bottle). Did you have to leave the engine running while you filled the degasser bottle?

I filled first then started the truck and ran it until normal temperature checking the level every so often. After it sat at normal temperature and fluid looked right I took it for a drive and rechecked the level again.

I hear you have to change the fuel. Can you completely win doing the water pump? On a 2000 fifteen, Ram 1503.08 of easel due to a one time torque on the fuel align. Is that not true?

Do you Need to take the ax lines off? I saw another one where he said you have to vacuum it out?

Unfortunately I do not have any more footage of real-time for this repair. It was fairly straight forward. The normal speed sections any the times that I found needing deeper explanation.

is that original pump or aftermarket did you have to remove any fuel lines ? i have a leak behind pump pulley i was thinking about gmb pump from rockauto .

I installed a Murry brand pump. I did have to remove the one fuel line that goes from the front of the passenger head to the fuel rail on the driver side.

I did bleed the fuel line prior to starting it.

You just cycle the key, these truck have a electric fuel pump, they self bleed

Did you go with the GMB pump? Just got mine in from Rock Auto who had the best price. Would have gone with Amazon for a bit more due to their phenomenal return policy, but they were backordered. Local shop quoted a factory pump at $905....WTF?

How did you bleed the fuel system. Currently replacing water pump.

I kept the line I removed theaded on but not fully tight and cycled the key on and off a few times. Then tightened it.

@@beyondupnorth Did you get the GMB pump that comes with the five orings? Just hoping no additional ones are needed while I'm in the middle of this. How long did it take you? Thx

@@melrobinson6919 I didn't remove the pipe behind the waterpump under the intake as that oring is not included, not a easy job but no real problems. Prob 4 to 5 hours. I should have changed the belt tensioner idlers though as I was right there and they were a bit loose at 210000km Bought it on ebay
