DIY Rover Tech here. I have this same Model with 310k Miles on it. No Check Engine Light. Cold A/C. Everything works and I still get 25 MPG on Regular Gas @ 2000 RPM (65MPH) ! I have an Alternator waiting for whenever the Stock one goes out. I also will change the Front Lower Coolant Hoses and Oil Cooler Lines as well while it's Torn Down. This was the most Reliable Model Land Rover made with NO Air Suspension and No excessive Sensors. If you keep your Vehicle Clean, change the oil, replace Tires as needed and Use Genuine Parts (swapping with the 2008 Volvo XC 90 3.2 i6 is okay) and Drive it like it's Transportation and not a Race Car it will RUN LIKE A NEW VEHICLE AS LONG AS YOU OWN IT. 2011-2014 have sunken intake valve issue. Mainly cylinder 4 and 8.

Question for this old video. Ive got a 97 ram 1500 2wd the brakes are terrible. On ice the rears wont lock up. Ive tried master cylinder, boster, sometimes when I first start it they will work great then they quit again. Could this sensor be the problem?

Not likely. But the abs module could have an issue not allowing proper pressure to reach the rear brakes.

I did order the tool with the kit. It was an extra $250. But they classify it as a rental. You can return the tool for a full refund.

I already removed the air suspension and put coils in, but everytime I drive the truck I still get the error code saying air system failure see dealer immediately.. trying to get rid of that!

You can expect 2 to 3 hours worth of labor. I charge $100 per hour for labor. This one was three hours with installing the switch into a factory panel.

It isn't worth the effort. You have to change harnesses, transmission, ecu and have custom tuning done to make it work.

@mikefoster4105 that is not an accurate statement. The compression test doesn't measure air volume. It measures the pressure being built by the piston compressing the air in the cylinder with the valves closed.

Wow - that "quite a bit of work" to get the switch into that spot is an understatement. I would call it more like freeform sculpture - you're going to need a few hours. I tried to do this without pulling all the plugs - and getting that dummy plug out while balancing the dashboard piece on your lap without really yanking on the wires is tough. After you get done with the knob holder creation it's a lot easier to snap in there with it removed, than back at the car - for me it didn't fit the first try and I had to shave more plastic off. The orientation shown for the controller means it moves every time you telescope or tilt the steering wheel. I put it in the other orientation with the brake controller up which it move a lot less. Also if you are building the wire and trying to decide how long it is - do NOT plug into the white connector and wave that around - you have live 12V and if you touch anything you've got sparks! The car side harness did come from the dealer when they installed the hitch. Have fun!

I hear you have to change the fuel. Can you completely win doing the water pump? On a 2000 fifteen, Ram 1503.08 of easel due to a one time torque on the fuel align. Is that not true?

Great video. Can you a take a minute to tell the signs of a bad CV axle? I'm experiencing shudder in acceleration, worse with more power applied. Coasting the car is completely smooth.

Signs of a bad cv axle is a clicking noise, vibration, popping or the rubber boot has grease coming out of it.

I’m about to install the same unit. In the redarc instructions it says that you need a fuse or breaker on the black wire before the battery. The Subaru harness has some kind of inline fuse on the blue wire. Not sure what that is for. How did you address this? Thanks.

The car is prewired to fuses specifically designed to support the added on brake controller. The fuse should be in the fuse box under the hood.
