Everybody kept going on about his jumps :) What impressed me was his Biellmann's spin. Haven't seen another male skater doing it so well, with perfectly curved back that most male skaters are weak at. Kudos!

Incredible, just 3 weeks later, he improves so much from this to shattering the world record - his total score here is 43 points short of his free skate score in the NHK! And he improves his total score by 60 points! A quantum leap!

+asri rmu We Japanese find it very difficult to understand the tease or joke immediately, by the time understood too late to answer or react to it.Japanese nature, I bet. lol ! I am very impressed with his improvements of his English, by the way. He is such an amazing, smart person in every way.

Skating Flower yes his english has improved so much! ^_^ and i agree with you, Yuzuru is an amazing and smart young man. He knows exactly what he has to do to prepare for the next Olympics in 2018. That's why i hope the medias would not pressure him too much, especially the medias in his home country in Japan :)

Amy Croft well last year was a hideous season, started by the accident in COC as the 1st GP series of Yuzuru. This season although he was 2nd in SC, thanks God he had no injuries. So Brian said "better than last year" ^_^

The music was everything. Intense, exciting, calming, elegant, and Yuzuru executed it so well. Every song he skates to is beautiful, I’m mesmerized each time I watch a performance by him. I don’t think I’ve ever watched one that didn’t have amazing music to go with his skating

🌞🎼🤴🎼🌞 Поразительная история под названием "Seimei", "рассказанная" принцем Японии Hanyu Yuzuru - с чувством, с толком, с расстановкой ! Полное слияние с музыкой, которая совершенно завораживает, как и катание самого фигуриста. Редко можно услышать экзотику инструментала этнического типа - спасибо Yuzuru, что познакомил с музыкой, связанной с этносом Японии, прекрасно аранжированной и, конечно же, за её изумительную интерпретацию ! Самурайский взгляд, богатая рисунком движений жестикуляция рук, дорожки, красота взлёта и приземления прыжков, кроме одного, вращения, бильман, что ещё?.. Конечно - чёткое, безупречное управление своим телом, в этом Yuzuru безусловно, нет равных. Удивительный спортсмен и артист, которому почти 21 год, владеющий всеми тайнами мастерства в фигурке, вполне адекватными для золотого призёра ОИ-1. Браво !

Well I'm over the moon with this performance. Though I think Patrick was flawless today, Yuzuru did an outstanding job with the jumps, particularly the quads (that Lz though, it's always the Lz). He had nothing to lose so nothing to fear at that point. A little but more polishing on the steps and choreo and he's good to go. Still, what a great comeback from 6th to 2nd (I though he could do it after i saw Liza going from 7th to 2nd earlier that day). Anyway this can only get better, I can't wait to see it in later competitions.

+hyunsifs88 I found Yuzu's execution in lutz when he is tired isnt too consistent. Maybe rearrange with 3S to improve stability? Because his lutz always executed with so much height when he is not tired!

Lolz Biellmann A 3S might work better, but I don't know how willing he would be to reduce his BV (even by 1.6 points T.T). And if he pops the 4S into a triple, he's in risk of zayaking, repeating his 4T, 3A and a 3S.

Oh sorry I should have made it more clear - I mean re-arranging his lutz and his salchow. If his last jump is 3S it might be more consistent than 3Lz at the end. And he would do the 3 Lz first, then 3L and end with 3S. :)

Lolz Biellmann Oh ok I get it! I don't know how much he could move his 3S (I just remembered he puts in on a combo with the 3A), but you're right he could definitely move the 3Lo and the 3Lz. His loop is good, perhaps it would be best to put the Lz first :)

I know its the same program but Yuzuru was way more passionate on this performance than the one in Skate Autumn Classic. I'm impressed by his flow as well as the jumps - how risky is that to put a 4T+2T in the second half of the program! Shame he didn't do well on SP or I will expect his win. Slightly questioned about his presentation score - why is his lower than Patrick Chan? I admit Patrick has done a great job and should have won the competition but I feel like Yuzu's presentation is better than Patrick's, but Patrick's jump executed better.

this is my question as well, yuzu's got robbed a lot on GOE as well. his program is packed with transitions. and although imho his choreo and stsq here are not at their best. hopefully he can do it on better form in NHK Trophy ^-^

+asri rmu I'm not sure if it is robbing, as I said, overall Patrick did a great job and hence should win the competition. Yuzuru's GOE is slightly underscored but I'm not too concerned about that. But presentation?! Patrick's program, frankly speaking, is just a jumping routine with less passion and flow between it. Though yuzu's step sequence isn't in his best in this program, it was still much better than that of Patrick's. But if the term "robbing" is focuses on his Free Skate then it definitely is. For me I think Yuzu should be 1st in FS but 2nd overall. :)

Lolz Biellmann me too, i thought the placement order is right. It's just the gap of the pcs score that gave question marks in my head. And i wont compare to other skaters first, but wondering why did yuzu get this low? Even in golden skate forum this was discussed passionately there.

チャン選手に及ばず、優勝できなかったのは残念ですが、それでも、2位に食い込めて、本当によかったです。昨日のSPは、クァド・トゥーループと、コンビネーションジャンプの二つ目のトリプル・トゥーループが、どちらもダブル・トゥーループになったことで、同じジャンプの重複と見做されて後半のジャンプは0点になっていたのだとか。実は私は、その報道を読んでから、一昼夜、殆どふて寝していました。（笑） 7点差だから、まだ挽回してメダル圏内に食い込めるはず、と信じつつ、時々、「結果は、まだか？」とスマホでニュースをチェックして……。終盤、手拍子を打ちながら観戦していた観客の方々も、きっと同じ気持ちだったでしょう。ご本人はもっとショックだったのでしょうが、観戦する側としても、ここで羽生選手が表彰台にも上がれなくて、後味の悪い思いをNHK杯まで持ち越されたのでは敵わない。何より、グランプリ・ファイナルに羽生選手が残れないようなことになったら、寂しいし、張り合いがありません。こうなると、落ち着いて演技を鑑賞するどころではないですね。心臓に悪いです。（笑）たかがスポーツ。されどスポーツ。たくさんの人の想いを背負っていることを肝に銘じて、頑張って下さい。

+Erika Sono No me refiero al SP, ya se que él se equivocó y merecia los 73 puntos, por las nuevas reglas de la isu. Me refiero al FP, creo que ahí le restaron unos puntos, en especial un juez en particular, fijense. Eso me da bronca.(enojo) Tampoco desmeresco el trabajo de Patrick, es un excelente patinador y ayer tuvo un programa muy limpio, admito que ganó bien.

Ich habe Ihren Kommentar auf Spanisch zwar verstanden, doch ich fürchte mich, dass meine spanische Kenntnisse nicht genug ist, eine sprachlich verständige Antwort auf Spanisch zu verfassen. Aller zuerst möchte ich Ihnen fragen: Haben Sie eigentlich die Berichte des ISUs richtig gelesen, wieviel Punkte für welche Elemente des Yuzurus Programms gegeben wurden?! Die Berichte des ISUs zu Skate Canada 2015 können Sie auf folgende Homepage lesen: www.isuresults.com/results/season1516/gpcan2015/gpcan2015_Men_SP_Scores.pdf www.isuresults.com/results/season1516/gpcan2015/gpcan2015_Men_FS_Scores.pdf Soweit ich die Berichte lese, haben die Richter Yuzurus Spiel gar nicht überschätzt. In dieser Saison hat Yuzuru vor allem gewagt, den technisch sehr schwierigen Versuch, nämlich 4T in der zweiten hälfte des Programms durchzuführen. Wie Sie wissen, man kann für den Sprünge in der zweiten Hälfte des Programms 1.1 mal des Grundpunktes verdienen, weil man in der zweiten Hälfte des Programms erschöpft ist. In den Berichten können Sie gleich sehen, dass niemand außer Yuzuru gewagt hat, sowohl in SP als auch FP in der zweiten Hälfte des Programms so viele Sprünge zu wagen. Alle andere Kämpfer programmierten die Sprünge in der zweiten Hälfte des Programms nur in FS, und zwar höchstens 3A, nie 4T. Patrick Chans FS-Programm enthält sogar selbst 3A nicht. Nur Yuzurus Programm enthalten in der zweiten Hälfte des Programms soviel 4T und 3A - genauer gesagt, mit den Schritten eingeführte 4T in SP und 4T+2T, 3A+1T. 3A+1Lo+3S in FS. Daher kann man von Yuzurus Programm viel höhere Punkte von den technischen Elemente erwarten, selbst wenn er einige Sprünge nicht 100% sauber landet. Näheres können Sie in den Berichte lesen. In SP hat Yuzuru diesmal Pech gehabt, weil der eben mit den Schritten eingeführte 4T und darauf folgende 3Lz+3T misslungen sind. Er gewann keine Punkte in der zweiten Hälfte des Programms in SP. Doch in der ersten Hälfte des SPs hat er mit Eagle eingeführte 3A 3Punkte als GOE gewonnen. 44.82 Punkte für die Programm-Ausführung sind keineswegs überschätzt, weil Yuzuru mit dem Programm "Chopins Ballade Nr. 1" in GPF der letzten Saison bereits 43,97 Punkte für die Programm-Ausführung gewonnen hat und seither mehrere Details noch viel verbessert hat. www.isuresults.com/results/gpf1415/gpf1415_Men_SP_Scores.pdf In FS, 98.35 Punkte für die technische Elemente bestehen aus vor allem viele Sprünge inkl. 4T und 3A in der zweiten Hälfte des Programms. Außerdem hat er zu Beginn des Programms zusätzlich 4S und 4T gelandet. 88.94 Punkte für die Programm-Ausführung in FS sind niedriger als bei Autumm Classic, bei dem alle Richter ihm über 9 Punkte für alle Elemente gegeben hatten. So müssen wir sagen, dass Yuzurus Programme in dieser Saison von ihren Elementen her höhere Punkte zielen und seine Note in der Skate Canada 2015 ehr streng gegeben wurden. Zählen Sie nicht bloß Fall und Fehler, sondern sehen Sie bitte das ganze Programm und zählen Sie die Punkte nach dem Regel des ISUs.

Si entiendo los informes de la isu y ya los leí. Por eso es que hice el comentario, no me gusta hablar sin fundamento. Por otra parte no entiendo la pregunta que hacés al principio. Siempre digo que lo que me molesta de algunas personas es que dicen que a Yuzuru le Inflan los puntos, cosa que yo no creo. Por eso comenté que en este caso se ve claramente que eso no ocurre. o no es así. A mi gusto él es el mejor patinador. Igualmente gracias por tu explicación, saludos desde Argentina!!!!

@liberman7 Keine Sorge! Egal wie die Richter denken, Yuzuru weiß selber, wie er ist und was er noch machen muss. In der heutigen japanischen Zeitung hat Yuzuru erklärt, dass er mit seinen Programmen zwar erwarten kann, mehr Punkte für die technische Elemente zu gewinnen, aber für ihn noch als Aufgabe bleibt, noch sauberer zu spielen und somit mehr GOE zu gewinnen. Außerdem hat Yuzurus Team erläutert, dass er seit ca. zwei Wochen wegen Asthma die Übung des Eiskunstlaufs beschränken musste. digital.asahi.com/articles/ASHC12DQFHC1UTQP00B.html?rm=249 Das ist typisch für Yuzuru, dass er ohne jegliche Aussage immer mit dem schwierigsten Programm kämpft. Das FS-Programm dieser Saison ist vom seinen japanischen traditionellen musikalischen Stil her für ihn selber auch neu. Er versucht nun nicht nur ein Skater, sondern auch als ein Japaner ein Kulturträger eigene kulturelle Wurzel zu repräsentieren. Der Versuch stößt jedoch mit mehreren Punkte mit ISU Regel, so dass Yuzuru ganze Sommer damit kämpfen musste. Zum ersten Mal hat Yuzuru das FS-Programm noch während der Sommer bei einigen Ice Show gespielt. Seither ist das Programm nicht nur technisch, sondern auch als Ausdruck viel verbessert. Ich bin sicher, dass Yuzuru bis zum Skate Japan (NHK Cup) am Ende November sein Programm viel verfeinert, so dass er Ihnen und alle andere scharfe Kritiker auch zufrieden stellen kann. Anyone else think Hanyu needs to skate for a while before his muscles relax? I mean, in layman's terms, he always seems to start off his skates with a certain tension, IMO it makes hus muscles "tight" and so he can't perform his jumps as well.
