Watched this video for some instruction on getting the bumper off. Very helpful. Take it from someone with minimal shop tools, there's no need for the jack stands. Using just hand tools, I easily removed everything from the bottom. The screws and bolts on the bottom are all pretty short and come out quick with just a phillips head screwdriver and 10mm socket wrench. ...now we'll see how fixing cracked bumper plastic goes.

Yea I’m sure you can get away without jacking. Whatever works, whatever you prefer. Personally, I rather have the extra space from jacking.

If only i found your video a year ago, I literally just wiggled my ginormous hands and scraped the shit out of them haha. switching them out without removing the bumper is a struggle. ive been hesitant to change my drl because i didnt want to go through the struggle trying to wiggle my hands around there removing the bulbs. Great video! This is going to save me a lot of time. I had to replace a fog light housing one time and it was a PIA fighting the inner fender shroud. I now have a turn signal out and been needing to replace it and this is going to help me a lot. I’m going to change all the bulbs while the bumper is off the the car.

Yea some cars that are intended to have the bumper removed to replace headlights, you can sometimes sneak around doing it. I’ve done that quite a few times with both the 4th and 3rd Gen. Altys for bulb replacement. However, I made this video as a bumper removal guide in addition to headlights, so it can serve a purpose for more than just headlight replacement.

I appreciate this video so much 😭 there’s not much altima content out there lol. I have a 2017 Altima and I’m looking to relocate my license plate mount to the tow hook area on the bumper, but there’s no screw or hole there. Any tips?
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee 3 жыл бұрын
Trying to relocate to the tow hook area might be hard without actually drilling into the front part of the bumper. If you wanna relocate it away from the center and have it more to the side, i would say use the lower grill cutout in the middle, and take a “L” bracket or something similar, and you could mount it with that. That way you would really only need to drill one hole to mount the L bracket to the underside of the bumper that you wouldn’t see, and then you could mount a plate frame on the outer part of the bracket.

@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee 3 жыл бұрын
Appreciate the comment! Sorry for the late response. I've never had to re-adjust a 5th Gen. Altima headlight, so I can't say I'm familiar with it. I can double-check on my GF's 2014, and maybe give you some insight on where that is, and I'm sure it will end up being similar even though they aren't a different headlight design. Depending on the bulb you used as well, maybe even turning it around in the housing might help.

Good video but it's not necessary to remove the bumper or remove the headlights to replace the bulbs. Just remove the screws from the fender liner just enough to have room for your hand. That's how I installed the LED bulbs on my 2018 Altima.

Hey bro thanks a lot for this video it helped me out a lot. I have a question I'm looking at the 2016 Altima and under the hood is the same as the 2014 Altima. Would it be possible to do a front end conversion by just getting Hood fenders bumper headlights and fog lights and grill. I know I'll have to move the signal light harness up to the headlights by doing so. But is it possible
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee 3 жыл бұрын
Hey whats up man. Its definitely possible, as the 2013-2018 are really the same car for the most part underneath the 13-15 & 16-18 cosmetic facelift differences. I don’t have much insight as to how it would fall together and how difficult it would be though. If you look up radiator support parts for a 14 & then 16 the lower support is the same, but the main core support differs between the 14 & 16.

They can definitely be tight if they’ve never been removed, but it really shouldn’t be that hard. Should just be a nice firm pull towards you and it should pop out. You can also try disconnecting everything other than that first, and leaving that last to give you the most play & wiggle room for it to pop out
