It don’t mean a thing This is great! It’s a pity we don’t hear “It don’t mean a thing (if it ain’t got that swing)” recently. I understand that the tap dancing takes too much time to practice, and not good for winning competitions, but hope it will make a comeback.
Best high school bands in the world exciting to watch and I love the Latin style they put together. Keep up the good work

I can not believe what you have done, really changed the doctrine in the marching band ..... really fantastic, unique and funny. You really have made your 2 parents proud and carried the fragrant name of the school. keep dancing and sing sing sing. I'm really not bored listening to your songs and dances .. BRAVO Kyoto Tachibana Senior High School ....... SALUTE !!!!!
Outstanding performance, as always. Hope the current class can get out soon after this stupid "pandemic" stops. I need a daily Tachibana fix or I will become ill..
They have the best choreography of all the high schools I've seen. They are in sync. Sugoi!

Comare and Chippi make a great percussion team. Chippi is very outgoing and does a great job playing all of the percussion instruments. Whereas Comare sets the tone and pace of every song with her precision and crip sharp drum beats. I have seen the final concert for many of the seniors years prior to this class. Is there a video of their final concert? I will miss the young flutist with the prosthetic leg Chippi's exuberance and Comare's superb musical talent. I wish the whole good fortune and wellbeing for years to come. Thank for a wonderful time viewing your many concerts and marching band performances. Hello, you know of the O-VILS Super Entertaiment Group? That's where CoMaRe & Chippi can be found among others. Young Flautist is a Color Guard along with Milpy in the Kyoto Fire Brigade Band. She sometimes sits in with a flute, but mostly is a Fire Angel Color Guard.

Dang this Pandemic!?! Though in advanced years, and have obtained enough money to do some traveling outside the U.S., I was hoping to go to Japan and see this wonderful band in person, but my doctor has advised against it given what is currently going on. I noticed that in this video is not only my favorite flute player, but playing clarinet and performing is the future D-M that will led the band in the 2018 Rose Bowl Parade.
Wow! Just wow! Is there another band in the WORLD that can play this number as the Tachibana band does? Playing AND dancing? Amazing. Great video work as well, Schneider883. Thank you!

Actually there is one, their sister band Izumo-sho High-school Band can Dance and Play music too. Go ahead looking them, they are quite amusing too with their own style of music and dance of course.

I am well aware of the Izumo band, but no ... they do NOT compare with the KT crew. I know they try. They copy, even the outfits. They are learning. Let's put it this way: if you're the Green Band Association and you have to choose between KT and Izumo for the Rose Bowl Parade, which would YOU select?
@rnabing31045 жыл бұрын
Yea, i agree. KT creates their own, from uniforms, routines, dance, arrangement, cultures, to each and every lil things. I would say KT are too nice to allow other schools to adopt their style and when i saw Izumo's, i feel they are literally copying KT and nothing is out of their own, but they are close sisters with KT so I respect them but never like them. The word adopt is very different from copying yea. Yes, Izumo produces good sound and better than KT's since they used to be orchestra form but nothing can beat KT's choreography, routines and everything else, they are at a different league. So don't compare, it will be never ending, just enjoy bcos the kids are doing for their own fun and bring the fun to us.
For those interested, the following is a short history of the school and some events: - Founded in 1902 as Kyoto Girls Handicraft School by Takeo Nakamori. - Renamed Kyoto Tachibana Girls' Junior High School and Kyoto Tachibana Girls' Senior High School, April 1957. - Tachibana Women's University founded in 1967, went co-ed in 2005. - High School went co-ed in 2000, and all courses were co-ed in 2003. - Tachibana Junior High was (re)opened in 2010. - Tachibana Oji Kindergarten opened in 2018. - All Tachibana Band Members play instruments and do so in sit down performances. Normally the Senior Year D-M will sit in the 1st chair of her/his section. - Their signature dance moves/routines did not start until 2005/2006, by a former snare drummer who was inspired by the ballroom dance show "Burn the Floor". - Adopted Sing! Sing! Sing! (With a Swing) as their signature song during the course of the following year, and is choreographed by the students, as are all their dance routines. - The band votes the future D-M from the freshmen in October of their 1st school year. She serves as assistant to the D-M in her 2nd year and promoted to full D-M in her 3rd year. Her main responsibility is to arrange and supervise all training of the band, though there are other duties as well. - Have been told that they practice their routines in the sand surrounding the school. Because if they can remain upright and not slip and slid in the sand, then they perform on just about any surface. (Was in Disneyland in 2005 when this band performed for the 50th anniversary of the theme park. Though they played some classic and up-beat songs, they just marched and swayed with the music. Nothing compared to what they do now. This is when the idea of competing for the annual Rose Bowl Parade was conceived.) - Were in the 2011/2012 and 2017/2018 Rose Bowl Parades and various other venues. If one looks at this video closely you will see playing and performing on Clarinet, a future D-M that will lead them in the 2017/2018 Rose Bowl Parade along with other band members, including my favorite flute player.

特に it dont mean a thing は完璧でプロだね。
