I’m getting a 2015 platinum on Friday, I’m so excited!!! Cant wait to finally have my dream truck! This things is so beautiful, with the retracting side steps, it has the 5.0L v8, a tonneau cover and custom rims and 33” tires! First newer truck I’ve ever owned, only other truck I have ever owned was a 1985 Ford F-150, amazes me to see how far I’ve come lol. From a straight six four speed f150 with one front bench seat, am fm tape deck to this platinum with all the amenities!

I had a very good deal on black friday on a 2016 F150 platinum. The one I bought is equiped with the 3.5L V6 Ecoboost... reading reviews, it seemed right engine for me. Your video on the platinum validated my choice. Thanks for the thorough review ! Can't wait to receive it !

Got mine in 2021 and is the model with out the 720 package. I like the truck. When it gets high milage the maintenance gets expensive. 3.5 ltr EB. Max Tow package, bed rug and Revolver 4x bed cover.

The only thing that I wish SHOULD BE STANDARD here on the Platinum - as well as on the King Ranch (the two highest trim) - trim is the bedliner - drop-in or spray-on.

I disagree. For example I wouldn't want the factory spray due to line x being better and equal in price. Other family members would like a carpeted bed for their sales products.

I had a 79 f150 that i put though hell for 19 years you make a truck like that ill buy it! That truck was in a flood . pulled many of cars out of a snow bank! THATS THE TRUCK WE NEED!

Like this video . Had dealer put in an order in on f150, but if it doesn't have lane keeping alert will have to put in order with that feature. It may have it with all the option that are on it ,but if not have to make change on order . They are going to check on it.

Yea, they are nice, quite a hefty sticker price but great looking! To each their own but I'd be happy with an XLT with the 302a pkg. Plenty of stuff for me. I'd be interested to see a drive/opinion video on one with the 3.5 regular non-ecoboost V6. Seems like it'd be suitable for a daily driver F150 if you don't tow large trailers.

thx for the good review, u are the only one who showed the backseats in this car. it´s a really nice car, i like that Ford now use high quallity material inside, now it looks more like a german car inside. everybody knows that Ford make very good engines. they really should sell this car in Europe, because it isn´t so expensive like other big cars.

Awesome review, two questions: 1) Is Sync 3 a major improvement? 2) What are the major differences between Platinum and Lariat besides massaging seats and the badging?

+MrDefeater94 Thank you! Yes Sync3 is a major improvement in my oppinion, MFT looks better but Sync3 is more user friendly. The differences are technical features like the multi contour seats and power running boards, some exterior styling differences as well as interior.

+Vetteman6363 Not that much, basically appearance.. the Limited comes with 22" wheels it has different badging and Interior.. Most of the available features are the same on the Platinum and Limited

The spare tire lock at 10:03 is a pain. They're cheaply made and in climates that use road salt, will rust to the point where they no longer unlock. They also don't provide much security as they can be broken off with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers (which you'll have to do once they become inoperable due to rust). I wish Ford would change these to stainless steel or come up with a better design. In $50,000+ trucks they should put more thought into these details.

I'm seriously considering buying one of these, specifically a 2016 or 2017 pre owned f150 platinum. How is the interior noise levels at speed? I live in a very busy area and use highways a lot, so a vehicle with low wind noise and low road noise is very important!

+Marcus Goncalves Thank you ! It does have a tendency to skid a little bit IF you are really pushing it in 2WD and there are wet conditions.. but I think most trucks do that, they are pretty tail happy. A solution is to put the truck in the AWD option :)

OK, I have a 2010 Harley Davidson Ford F-150. I have noticed a lot of the same features with this one. The biggest changes are obviously the cosmetics. Are there any other major changes?

per the question regarding the wind deflector under the front bumper Ford says it can easily be removed for snow and off road. Thought might be interested in knowing. John

Great video and good explanation Ford features. Question how easy is it to temporally remove the front deflector or the black rubber/plastic piece that hangs below the front bumper below the tow hooks to go off roading? i know that it helps with fuel economy, but reduces front end ground clearance. after returning from off roading would reinstall. Thank you, bought the 2016 Platinum and love it. Your review me decide to purchase. john

Ed Rocha I would get the XLT because i think you get the most bang for your buck with that model also i would get the V8 because it doesn't work as hard and has the best sound also it is more reliable and cheeper to maintain than the ecoboost engines.

Very nice video. Thanks for taking the time to make this and pointing out all the nice features of the Platinum. I have to agree with Joshua's comment though. There is no way that there is not even one bad thing about the truck. Without mentioning any negatives it makes me wonder about review bias, and it makes this video (as good as it is), much less valuable to me. This is more of a "nice features" video than a proper "review". I hope this comment helps you make a better reviews in the future. No hate here. I've watched a lot of your videos and I'm a fan. I bought this vehicle. loved it until it started pissing all over my wife in the passenger seat. Water leak from the sunroof after only one year. Cost me $200 to fix what I would consider a manufactures defect. I just went over 35,000 miles and so they say, "it's out of warranty." It's the last Ford that I will buy. I'm going back to Toyota. Leaky Aluminum POS!!!

Since when does a "business man" need a truck? They typically need a cubical to sit at not a truck. Wish ford would get back to making trucks for what they use to be made for a "WORKING MAN! 60-70k is absolutely ridiculous! Even "lower" trim levels are still in the high 40s low 50s crazy. Use to be 10-12 years ago mid 40s was a loaded in f150 and a guy could get into one for mid 30s new. A true shame.

businessmen don't sit in cubicles looooool, this truck is tailored for guys who own construction companies or as a family car, when you own a company you're not gonna be hauling shit everyday and you're probably visiting multiple sites a day so you need some comfort but if need be you can still put tools and haul stuff or take the family to the lake for a vacation while towing the boat.
