Great work! I would love to see your data on the quiet version of this exhaust? If your neighbors ever get tied of the noise maybe you can try it out

I have the exact same bike. With HMF pipe, EHS turner, 1.5mm shim and purple clutch spring.

Unfortunately I cannot have an exhaust that loud because of some neighbors I have. I'm thinking some upgrades to the clutching would be the best bet in my situation. Clutching and maybe a programmer with a free flowing muffler tip.

Great data and video. I just installed the EHS Lid, EHS controller and Whisky Bent Metal Worx 2" Exhaust tip. Haven't had a chance to take it out(still icy here in Canada) but can't wait. Did you play with any of the controller settings after running it a few times?
@thefourwheelfix

None, it runs VERY good with the pre installed tune

@@thefourwheelfix So you definitely feel a difference? How hard was the install?
@thefourwheelfix
@thefourwheelfix 2 жыл бұрын
@@THExKINGxKINGx I have a video of the install too, takes about a half a day to do everything, not bad at all, only recommendation would be to remove all of the plastics from the machine like the directions say. As far as feeling a difference, yes, huge seat of the pants difference, and the numbers show that

@@thefourwheelfix Thanks for the response! Thinking of just getting the EHS tune/controller. Do you think that would still make a difference? Actual power gain? Some more horsepower would be amazing. Though main thing i want to fix is the left side getting hot.

Does these mods void the warranty on a new machine?

I put an hmf on my old Vinson it was loud but the “tone” was horrible I hated it. My perfect exhaust would be slightly louder but a decent tone.

What’s done to the machine that helps it wheelie?
@thefourwheelfix
@thefourwheelfix 2 жыл бұрын
At the time of this video, the machine is completely stock other than the EHS big three. The stock suspension is soft and when the back end would squat, the front end would lift fairly easily. Now, I have a clutch kit in it that makes the power delivery hit harder off idle and it wheelies even easier. I can PM you a guy to talk to about clutching if you're interested

You change muffler do you have to adjust anything
@thefourwheelfix
@thefourwheelfix 2 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily, but installing a less restrictive muffler would be more beneficial with a tune

All I want to know is.... can it keep up to an 850 Canam?
@thefourwheelfix
@thefourwheelfix Жыл бұрын
I have not raced one yet, but having ridden a few I would say this. The can am seems to build power smoother and they are geared taller. They really boogie on the top end, but don't hit as hard down low. The grizzly being a big single cylinder, it's biggest downfall is its top end. They are very punchy down low, and especially with some proper clutching, which I have since done, these things are VERY snappy, but they start to fall off after about 40-45mph. That being said, the setup I have on mine now, I would say I could probably jump a can am 850 out of the hole and hold it off until about 40, and then the can am would freight train me. With the clutching I have, Im at rev limiter around 65mph or just shy of that. Its clutched a little lower, so it moves really well in tighter mountain trails where I primarily ride, but yeah they are not very impressive on the big end. Still though, its a very fun machine in the environment I ride in, and especially for reliability sake, I wouldn't trade it for anything else. 😁

@@thefourwheelfix I ride hills in snow. I've found that only the 800+ class works well for our riding. I need the momentum, torque and wheel spin without any lag whatsoever. I liked my Gen 1 800 Outty better than my 1000R Outty. It was much better handling. The 1000R has power.... but that's it. The ergo's suck. I had a 660 Grizzly years ago and it was an over-heating, under-powered slug. It would over-heat plowing snow in -40 and it was equally as poor for the riding we do. I hated it. I did love the Yamaha CVT though..... miles ahead of any other belt driven transmissions. Towing someone out in the snow with my 1000R is almost a guarantee I'll be replacing a belt.... and that's with a $2,200.00 aftermarket clutch set-up in low range. Lol
