The BBQ Rib Patty MRE was arguably the greatest menu taken out of service in recent years, and was replaced by Chicken Burrito Bowl. This thing typically sells for around $30 these days, and sometimes more than that. With a main course that so closely resembles a McRib, it really gave soldiers a taste of home. In remembrance of the fallen on this day, I felt this menu was perfect to review. Those fallen soldiers are gone, but not forgotten.
Still in production is my 1957 Ration, Survival, Individual - along with a 2021 Danish 24hr ration, a 1970's Coast Guard Approved Survival Ration, 1945 K Ration Dinner, and a case of 1969 MCIs. June is going to be a great month if all goes as planned. The 1957 RSI ended up becoming a double survival ration review, and some restoration work as well. So stayed tuned for those, and more as I'm in a flurry of new filming projects since the introduction of this new camera. Alright cool, see ya.

My dad was a baseball fan. When he passed away in 1986, my mom joked that "he ate so many hot dogs at Red Sox games that we didn't even need to embalm him." RIP Dad. I'm almost the same age now as you were on that day. I understand only too well what "he died too young" means now.

Back when I was in the Army, this was one of my go-to favorite MREs. Any time I got it, I would trade something for the red pepper packet from another Joe, and add that to the BBQ sauce along w/ the pork rib, then make a sammich from it. Alongside the Buffalo Chicken, and the Maple Sausage MREs. Getting one of those, and letters from my family on the same day was like heaven for me.

I think its because hes not stuck whit the same 5 meals for how long plus other stuff. a lot of the crap came from sets of MRE that was limited on its variarity meaning in total there mighe be 10 meals but 5 or 7 are so simular to each other it end ups the same. like (meal1) meatballs and mashed potato (meal2) ground meat and mashed potato. there is a reason why the moment two diffrent nations armies meet out in the field MRE rations are traded. because I have eaten US MRE ration 1-10 for 6 weeks now I want some Dutch MRE 1-10.

My dad would make us go on a week long river adventure every summer for years. He brought MRE's and we would always eat them for lunch, Im glad he did because I will never forget them, some were awful others were absolutely amazing. It taught me a lot of respect for our troops knowing that they would survive off this with no other options. But let me just say that THIS the BBQ pork patty is the BEST THING IN ANY MRE (that Ive ate), me and my brother would fight over these. Im sad to hear they no longer make them, thank you for this video Steve.

I love how Steve always leaves us on a positive note and promises something new...or old. Either way, I look forward to it.

Hi Steve! Just stopping by to say: I reallly enjoy your videos! It's so interesting to see food last that long! And BTW- have you ever thought of having T-shirts of your most common/famous phrases made? I'd absolutely buy one!
