The V6 is a great balanced car. It has power, looks, very affordable. Obviously if you pay more you get more. I think people need to realize that price matters.

I'm 20, can't afford the v8, can't afford the 10 MPG, can't afford the insurance. And nobody should ask me why I don't own the v8.

I love the v8 Mustangs and drove Mustangs for 25 years straight. My thoughts were , my 1st and only choice is a Mustang. But I never purchased a new v8 Mustang, due to the price. Cars are not an investment so I can not justify spending a lot for a car, and I make a very good salary. I will spend a lot for a house. But that said, I agree that a real Mustang is a V8, but the v6 is a great car for the looks, price, and performance you pay for. The v6 are a great purchase. Just buy what make sense for you and be happy. Your money ; your choice !

Listen buying a V6 is a sound and sensible decision; 305 horsepower, better F/R weight balance, cheaper insurance, 87 octane fuel, less than $25K, better fuel efficiency, nimble, just as cool, and a 3.55 final drive is optional; in the right hands this car will perform and delight its driver. My choice over the hair dryer turbo.

a REAL mustang lover would respect the v6 because the v6 is the sleeping giant out of the 3 eco boost just dont do the job and v8s are to heavy if you do the right mods to your v6 you can have a hybrid car a little v6 mixed with a v8 the lightness of the v6 and the power of the v8 is a killer on the track but i assume yall fan boys hear v8 and say ohh i have to have it but never go to the tracks or even RACE lol i have both gt and v6 and I'll drive my modded v6 in a race before my v8 and p.s supercharger v6 with the right tune and mods makes you a HUGE threat

I've driven a V6 and an ecoboost Mustang and they were both nice. They drove well and had plenty of power. The interior is nice, the exterior looks pretty much the same as a GT. They are definitely way closer to the GT than past models have been. They are absolutely worth the money, if the GT is out of range, or for a car for your kid that you don't want to give too high horsepower. They can still get in trouble with these but not as bad as with the V8. Good review.

I drive a v6, and have yet to find any other v6 or 4cyl that can beat me on the highway, the acceleration of these things are insane, I walk my friends 5.0 u till 80mph then he catches up and beats me, but he still cant get past me until 80mph, in a 1/8 mile, hes done. Still v8 have that sound that you just love, however a mustang is a mustang. There are 4cyl cars that can put out more HP than a v8, it's all about technology

the main reasons why people get the v6 mustang is because... 1) its siginificantly lower msrp price compared to the v8 2) insurance is lower compared to the v8

I'm pretty happy with my 2014 V6. Just slap on some cheap performance parts with a tuner, and you're good to go! A cold air intake does give the car a nice throaty growl. I love my car, and yes, I bought the V6 because I couldn't afford the GT. I've driven against some high end cars with my V6, and I'm not the least bit dissatisfied. I obviously can't beat everyone, but I can beat most. And those who can beat me.. well I don't mind being beaten by them with their higher performance stats. Nice video guys B)

I test drove at the dealership a 2010 Gt stock, 2001 Firbird V8 and the 2016Mustang V6. All were nice to drive but the differences were minimal. Sure the 2010V8 GT and Pontiac had more grunt sound and over all kenetic force (weirdheavyness feeling) but it didnt blow me away. The Cyclone engine was just as impressive, lightweight and overall smooth quick on the pick up 30mhp and after. Im sure the V8Mustang (2015+) is beast but the V6 is just as enjoyable.

I wanted a v8 mustang but when I really started thinking about it I don’t drive fast and I wouldn’t be able to use all 450 horse power.

In 2009 I got a GT (auto), and those 300 horses were fun. I'm now 44 (45 in a few months) and finally decided it was time to learn to drive a stick... and the V6 has the same amount of horsepower, at a far less price? Sold! (OK, I did want a GT again, but cars ain't cheap and I couldn't find one in my price range. Maybe another day, like when I'm 55, lol.) Been driving it for almost 10 days and so far it's pretty good, definitely isn't lacking in power. One thing that Cole is absolutely right about is the V6 being the "red-headed stepchild" of the current breed. Finding aftermarket parts is really rough: some things you'll find plenty of, others are needles in the internet haystack (fits GT and ECB but not V6's), and others will be nonexistent (such as a strut tower brace, although the K-brace for underneath looks good for a start in helping handling). I honestly don't see why the ECB is catered to and not the V6, its a freakin' I-4 with a turbo... sounds as un-Mustang like as it can get, don't care if it gets great gas mileage, it just screams, "I'm wrong, I know it, but I'm here!" Me, I'll just slowly but surely build the V6 into a beast: step 1 (already done), HRE FF15 wheels [18x9 front/18x10 rear] and Cooper Zeon UHP A/S tires for driving up here in the high country, followed by suspension, brake, and engine upgrades. Will it be a V8 killer? Hell no... but it'll be good looking, good for commuting, and when I feel like it good fun. ;}

If someone could point me out any brand new 300+hp RWD coupe for the price of the Mustang V6 I'd be surprised. Good looking car as well

Yeah v8 sounds better all day but if you just want a DD w/ decent power and for good looks, v6 is the way to go since youll get better mpg.

I have a 2015 V6 Mustang that's slightly modified. I can't outrun the current V8 Mustangs but you put a 2010 GT or older stock up against me and I'll drag his ass! What people don't realize is that the V8 Mustangs from only 7 years ago only have 15 more HP than the V6 Mustangs now. People should do a little research and stop repeating what they hear other uninformed people say. Just makes you look ignorant. :)

Great review! I own a boosted v6 on E85 and I get wanting a v8 and love that sound. I have owned 4 mustangs and 3 have been gt's and yes they will all older models 96 98 01 and my current 15 v6 is by far the fastest. You can make anything fast as long as you gotta the $$ and wrench time. But in my 2 years of owning v6 mustang I've learned that the online mustang community is mostly garbage and can't respect a car or people for what they do or want. But in person people have had nothing but respect for my car and build. Also there such a great feeling in beating the precious v8 mustang with a v6. Granted a boosted v6. But damn that feels good tho.

I'm bored with the V8 sound. I think the high revving V6 sounds better. There is nothing wrong with the car. The problem is with people and their ridiculous ideas. Especially young males that are so worried about getting respect or cred. A 155 hp Miata is a better driving car than either Mustang but then what would you brag about while you're at the car show in the McDonalds parking lot? Don't get me wrong, I like the Mustang. I prefer the Camaro though because it is much lighter and the Camaro V6 is a legit sports car. Yes there is the SS, but with simple modifications that V6 Camaro pulls over 1G skidpad, sub 5 sec 0-60, well over 100mph 1/4 mile trap speed and it stops on a dime. If I were buying a V6 coupe I'd chose the Camaro. Unless you are a die-hard Mustang fan. Nothing wrong with this car at all and there are some killer deals right now on the '17 V6s. Buy what you like.

I got the V6 In 2017 and it is a EVERY DAY WORK CAR!!! The reason i got the V6 over the ECO was that i want to put about 160k miles on it before i give it to my son. I was worried that the ECO would not last as long for the everyday commute. The Car is Awesome and I will now always have a Mustang after i got this car. I might add some upgrades in the future, but no hurry and it looks great. :)

bruh, I have 450... to the wheels in my procharged 2017 V6. Y'all can keep the GT. I have much more fun in my 6. Lighter, more power, better gas mileage. Can pull scat packs, GT's, SS's... A GT350 by a hood. It's a power to weight game with me. Most cars I race are 3800plus.. I'm at 3550. Plus, I've gotten rid of alot of my parasitic loss through the drivetrain. Something most of the V8 guys these days, first off, seldomly even know about, understand or do anything about. And believe me, Ford has realized that they made a mistake on getting rid of the forged bottom end, 6 bolted main V6 engine. And for those that can't do the math, I have 500 to the motor. Now, having said all that, I'll never have that growl. But, that's it. And for 7-10K more, it's not worth it, but to each his/her own.

I got the 6 and I love it and I have a 72 a 91 , 2005, and a 2014 mustang and the 2015v6 i have is my favorite so far between the gas mileage and power it just makes sense and I can’t even drive as fast as the car will go

If everyone had unlimited budget you would be insane to not buy a GT but... people have budgets, I was in the market for a mustang. I had a choice between a 05-09 GT or a newer v6 so I chose the v6. The 3.7 makes almost the same power as the older 05-09 and I’ve loved all my moments with it. It’s a Manual 2012 3.7 and I’ve enjoyed it so much!

Well since the mustang was originally born in 64 1/2 baring the 170 inline 6 (80-90hp with optional AC) the 2017 V6 pushing 300 hp with cold AC is pretty damn good if u ask me. Hell Im still using 2-60 AC, 2 windows down 60mph! And the price my goodness with the military incentives, first responder, college, and even Agriculture discounts u can get one now for under 20k (well at least out here in AZ anyways, V6 models) brand new.

I bought a black 2017 v6 yesterday. It's very very nice compared to the last gen, and it makes the 4th gens look like total sh&t box. First brand new car I've ever owned. It's almost at 75 miles and it so far is absolutely awesome!!! Don't sleep on the 3.7l mustangs haha you may get your ego bruised.

Old men will always say V6 only. They can't get past their past biases. Same with FWD, AWD and V12's. They build concepts in their head and they will never get past them. I love the V8 sound better also but as a daily driver the V6 is a very nice option.

V6 sounds good with the proper exhaust (sounds btr than the 4 cylinder anyways). Flowmaster outlaws get it closest to gt sound imo. Like ur vids man keep it up. I have a 15 gt and luv it. But I over paid on the premium package stuff.

I used to have a 2013 v6 till it was in a accident and got total. I miss her so much, I kept the grill and hanged it on my wall so I can remember her all the time.

The Cyclone 3.7 with the external water pump is a pretty solid engine. Don't see any reason why that engine can't get 300k or more miles with just basic maintenance. Mating it with a stick shift is an even more bulletproof combo.

Sweet review. Just picked up a 2017 v6. I dig the sound. It's way better than a 4cyl. I wanted a GT. But I'm pretty happy. I have quite a few mods planned. SR springs JLT cold air Intake SVE axle back BBK shorty headers BBK 73mm throttle body Tune -not sure who yet My previous car, big turbo Mazdaspeed3 w/e25 tuned to 360whp was fun. But that power in a FWD..... joke. Regardless of less power, at the moment, I'm digging this car. Truthfully, I'd be happy just to get this v6 to 290whp. I know I'll need more than I have listed above. But that's my start.

For daily drivers, the only real difference that a 5.0 has over a 3.7 is the pull power for getting on the freeway. Now the stock v6 comes with a 3.15:1 differential, which gives it a tamer pull than what it could have. Now, for around $1500, you can get yourself a 3.55:1 diff installed on your v6 and that thing will pull like hell.

Yeah guys I bought a 15 v6 because I drive to San Diego quite a bit to see my son and grandson so I wanted something better on fuel I get 31 mpg But I wasn't expecting this car to have the power and torque that it has. I've installed the roush axle backs exhaust system and a cold air intake system and this baby runs as strong as anything ive ever owned, all the GT owners out there that rag on the v6 just shut up, you have no idea what your talking about, ive raced some stock Gt and I hold my own with em until I get it to top end and then they pull away. When I first bought it 125 was top speed and about 15 sec. To get it to that, but since cold air intake its like 13 sec. Now and it get up around 132 mph now and I couldn't be hhappier with the way this v6 performs, so before you GT guys rag on the v6 go and drive one and and your gonna be ashamed of yourself for talking shit about something you know nothing about. Also I really don't care what the GT guys think, they could rag all they want, it just shows there ignorance so rag on guys. I'll bet anyone them to a race from Fresno to San Diego and beat you by a lot cause you can't make it on 1 tank, I can with a quarter to spare.

Daily driver, good looks and more power than you can use on today's streets. And an added point is the V6 is truly understated in looks. No emblems. Nothing saying its more than it is other than a beautiful Mustang. My .02c.

my bro has a 2014 v6 the thing is badass, while not as loud as the gt his insurance is 100 less because its a v6 and he gets around 25mpg while making around 350 at the wheels (no i dont know what mods so dont ask) but it is the best bang for your buck car my far and the fact he got it for 9k is amazing @65k miles

Some people dont care about power or anything they just want a comfortable car. Im considering a mustang v6 because all i want is a pretty cheap, two door, rwd car and that is basically impossible now because everyone wants fwd..so im left with buying really old cars from the early 80s or older and muscle cars basically because very few brands make a rwd car anymore

Mine was a 16 Vert with 30k on it and was a rental, Very happy with it considering I had a 2007 V6, this V6 is definitely more power and nicer. Plan on Procharging it by next summer. 35k sticker price new, you would never believe what I got it for Used.

Had a 15 v6, traded it in for a 16 gt... Tbh the v6 isnt worth downing... People shouldn't down the v6 bc its quick. I test drove my v8 tho and i was so heartbroken wen i realized how much faster the gt was than the v6... I had the mentality that i jus liked the way the mustang looks so i got the v6 but also i didn't know what the real difference was between a v6 and v8, but now today if i had a choice between a older gt or a v6 i would go older gt my mindset changed now. Also some people are rude af but i also got many compliments on my v6 and i had my v6 customized to look much faster and alot of people was wonderin if it was a gt or not but everytime they asked and wen i tell them its v6 i could see the disappointment in there faces :( people would say oh its STILL a nice car... But now i got the gt and i cant drive a mustang without a v8 now : D

Well I’m looking to buy a mustang, I was looking for a 07 GT but with the gas mileage & efficiency it’s just too much for me. With the money I spend on a GT for insurance & has I can mod an V6. So I ended up getting a 2011 Mustang V6. I’ve watched @jesusmodzv1 & I saw his exhaust kit so I got the exact same one as his with BBK Shorty Headers, BBK Catted X pipe & roush axleback with a with additional 7 horsepower ECU Tune with a classic K/N Cold Air Intake. Looking forward to supercharge it. What should be my next mustang mod ?

V6 weighs 200 lbs less. And is you supercharge it you can get 500hp for 5800$ more. So if you got money you can do whatever you want. But it's not bad to get a v6. Especially if it would be your first project car. If you spend less on a v6 and you tune it to pull on a 5.0 you get my respect!

Got a 30k mile used 2016 V6 for 14k before taxes, nothing wrong with it and love it, coming from a 2007 V6 and I can say they are definately better than what they were. that and I couldnt pass on the price, especially considering its in Perfect condition, not a scratch on it Silver like your buddies... oh and its a convertible. I didnt get a deal, I stole it at that price, hoping my next one is a 2022 GT *fingers crossed* but 300hp is enough and cant wait to see what some bolt ons and a procharger, with a new exhaust can do to this thing after a tune.

V6 noise, maybe. V8 noise, better. V10 noise, good (m6 = music). V12 noise, AWSOME! ok back, needed one of those wardrobe changes after thinking about that V12. Our old Rapide could be beat by many a charger, stang or even wrx but that sound was NUTS! That's one those impulse buys you have to do at least once.

The older V6 only had 210hp and a 5 speed. Everyone still thinks the V6 is still that 200hp turd.

2015 v6 Got shorty headers on mine x pipe flowmasters axle back airaid cold air intake mpt 93 tune ...love my car..wouldn't trade it for a gt might swap out the driveshaft and procharge it next year

the 5.0 is well worth it, far more worth the extra cash than previous v8 ones were, the 5.0 has 145 more hp, a fbo v6 still can’t touch a 5.0, because the weight difference is virtually non existent, they use the exact same chassis, that’s why v6 slowstangs and v6 slowmaros are so heavy, they use a chassis and body built for a big v8 not a crappy mazda v6 engine, the argument for “something fuel efficiency” is stupid because if it was about that and the price you’d get a kia or a prius, but it’s not you wanted a mustang, clearly looks and performance meant more because a fuel efficient, cheap 4banger would have been far more fuel efficient and cheaper to buy and insure

If y'all have seen thatdudeinblues review of the twin turbo v6, these things are killer with mods. I'd pick the v6 over the v8 tbh, I love the gt but i love curvy roads and tight corners too much for something that heavy

If I couldn't afford the s550 5.0, ill get the s197 5.0 which is a couple thousand more than the new v6s. Besides i don't like the s550 models that much over the s197 models. And the s197s 5.0s are slightly faster than the s550s l because they lighter. The only thing the s550 has over the s197 really is just the handling.

The 6 is 245 pounds lighter in the front end than the 8. That is a 3rd fat guy.

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out if this mustang at this dealership is a GT that's just been debaged or it's a poser vs it doesn't have the GT badge on the back but on the side grills or u know what I mean it says 5.0 performance now I don't know if it's fake or not 2016
