The third brake light will have butyl tape all round the seal. It's a known leak spot, so it's probably just stuck to that. Maybe heat it up with a hairdryer first then lever with a plastic..... oh never mind. You just explained that while I was typing (but I'd already started, lol)

I ordered my 5th gen taillights from The Retro Shop this morning for my 2012 RAM 2500 CTD and will have them according to FedEx, this Sunday.

@@solargarage The lights came in, I got it all set up and did a functions test, everything worked but it started hyper flashing with the signals

@@paulwarren1586 Hmmm, generally when the truck hyper flashes, it thinks that a bulb has burnt out. Do you hear any clicking from the Big Square box that is apart of the harness. Did your setup come with resistors and are they securely plugged in?

@@solargarage At first, I heard the clicking with the turn signals then it quit doing it then went into hyper flash, I have the same harness that you have, I sent Jeremy a message so i should hear something probably tomorrow

Do your rear turn signals match the front when you press the brake pedal? Watched another video from from 2020 where the turn signals were total opposite of each other.

5th gen tail lights have blind spot monitoring capabilities, will you be adding that feature as well?

Thanks for the comment. hmmm, Interesting, may not be possible on my 2016 as it does not have blind spot monitoring capability so there would not be an existing system to tie it into.

How are you guys finding all these taillights i mean putting 4th gen on a 5th gen i cant seem to find anything

Supply chains are crappy right now, all the lenses and hardware I have needed for swaps I got from Jeremy at RetroShop.us retroshop.us I have also found replacement hardware from carid, rockauto, and amazon.

Hello, Thanks for the comment. The parking light section of the LED tails has not been tinted.

Have you had any issue with “turn signal light out” messages on the dash with this harness? I ordered the basic red harness and was worried the amber would throw warnings.

Thanks for the comment, I got the LED tails and wire harness from retroshop.us. They have several lights mods for many generations of Ram as well as other trucks/cars. retroshop.us
