i'm an evo and sti guy i've had a modded evo 8 loved it and just got rid of my 2014 evo x today 6/28/19 cause it started nickel and dimming me and just got the 2017 sti today

Honestly I love them both I just enjoy the STi's sound a lot more. Both great cars, both cars look great as well. They shouldn't be rivaled, they should be partners. They both tear shit up on the dirt and provide an awesome sound with the right exhaust.

The Evo X came out in 2008, it's design was ahead of its time period to be honest. Even subarus new wrxs have a lot of Evo features. Rest in peace sweet prince, I'm sorry we all let you down

as a fan of both I have to say the Evo is much better looking...especially the front so aggressive >_> but the rear oh god it's awful...

As an STI owner I admit the Evo is overall a better car. Engine is better and responds better to mods, more reliable when mildly modded, seats are better and I almost think the handling may be better/sharper as well. (I have never driven an Evo so i'm not sure). I believe the Evo has always been the better tarmac car. The only thing is that the Evo X interior is rather dated now. I prefer the STI dashboard becuase it slopes away from you more. If my STI had the Evo / Recaro seats with more bolstering and a more modern engine it would be perfect.

Just the sound is enough to pick a winner for me. The Subaru sounds soo sweet compared with the screaming Evo. And for the people comparing the VW Golf to a japanese quality machine.......the Golf may drive very good, but its not a car to buy because it will break down an cost you a fortune to run.

I cant not believe that every video i have watched about the WRX STi lately; it loses.....? it loses against the Golf R, the Audi S3 demolishes it and now the latest EVO beats it as well.....? every single time!!!! evo upped the power, 226kw and 414nm now! subaru needs to do something, used to be great for the money, dont get me wrong it's a fast car but it needs to get with the times. i'd get a focus rs over it

The EVO is much better for me. The sound is much sharper and sporty. The Subaru sound is so low . Bravo Mitsubishi good job again. I will buy it .This or next year .

I was more of an Evo guy but now i love both of these car equally like if you the same

People always complain Evos and STis are not fast enough on straight road compare to Golf R, S3, or so. But Evos and STis are not just build for straight road or race track. The current generation still contain some rally heritage from their predecessors, which means all around performance and conquering all road conditions regardless of weather. Well, I was looking for a new car for my next APRC season. Despite little eco box has unfair advantage with the current rule book, I still prefer Evo or STi better. I had been comparing and testing EVO X or STi N4 rally cars for a few times myself and I did chose the STi NR4 package in the end. It does takes more skill for a driver to squeeze out all performance for a STi, but it does has better corner exiting grip if you do things right. Evos got more tolerance of input errors, and generally having more grip from initial all the way to apex. But again the STi I test drove has a 2L engine instead of 2.5.

Seen all these people talking about STIs killing EVOs and I'm just here to point out that when it comes to both cars fully stock, the STIs do sound like the better car on paper. But there are just so many factors that come into play and its just a shame that the EVO line has been cut off. EVO clearly the faster car. (Look at other videos on youtube, at least 80 percent of them have EVOs winning.)

Why EVO has only 2.0L and WRX has 2.5L and EVO has more power?.. I understand that more volumen of WRX has more power. However, it is less. (221KW)...The EVO has 226 KW....the test showed more power for EVO. 0-100km/hr 5.27 sec for WRX and 5.02 sec for EVO....Please, somebody could be help me to understand?

Great video. Did you turn off the traction control for the Evo? it's obvious you used launch control and that's awesome. No test anywhere show use of launch control on the Evo so right away this is the best test on the internet. Thanks for studying the cars before you tested them. (I noticed you have traction control off but did you disarm the system by holding down the traction control button until fully disarmed)

the 2016 wrx sti is pretty obvious thats it the better car than the evo in a race it sounds better, it has way better launch and tops speed quite fast
