Awesome truck man! I am currently in the market for a 6.7 there is a 19 F350 that has 119k miles on it. It is deleted and looks well taken care of and in the same price range as some 12-16 6.7s gotta talk to the owner to see how well taken care of it was. Awesome to hear these trucks getting high milage!

Consider the Maryland Performance Diesel intake tubes and the SPE intercooler. Also the DCR high pressure fuel pump. You’ll fall in love with your truck all over again.

I agree with you regarding not needing to run a fuel additive. I opted to install a S&S second generation disaster prevention kit for like $400 in the event that my CP4 implodes. My thinking was that it isn't likely that the CP4 will die as long as I am staying on top of water separation, filter changes, and getting fuel at larger places where the fuel is moving often like "truck stops"..... BUT if it does let loose I'll just basically be looking at the cost of replacing the CP4 instead of $10,000+ and basically going through the entire fuel system.

This entire DEF and emission requirements by the EPA is a total scam that just cost consumers. The same thing happened with gasoline engines when the emissions got strict and manufacturers has to goto direct injection (from port injection) for the engines. Unfortunately, with direct injection, fuel no longer clean the back side of the intake valves and serious carbon build up results. This leads to degraded performance at around 60K miles not to mention worse emission and forces the owners to have to go through expensive walnut shell blasting to clean the carbon!!!

@rethergriffin2122

515K isn't alot of miles for a diesel engine!! V8 or not as the Europeans use mostly V8 or there best most powerful and most expensive over the road diesel Scania usually last a few million built very similar to the 6.7 Powerstroke except there emissions are nowhere near as horrible for there diesel engines than the racquet system we have in the states! I mean. Look at the carbon footprint it leaves to mine all the metals for the tailpipe,the DEF is very toxic not to mention when emissions systems start going out we're looking at around $30,000 for everything I mean its insane and only for American Diesels that I know of. Every million mile 6.7 Powerstroke (that I know of) atleast has the EGR system deleted as thats got to be absolutely horrid for an engine especially on a $75,000-$105,000 truck I mean they could atleast invest the science into the emissions as Europe has a fuel pump that almost eliminates emissions they're about to put into production I believe.. Anyway point being and I'm not being rude I just think we're getting ripped off just because we want/need a powerful,very nice interior work truck that we need dependable service out of it for the life of the vehicle which diesels are built so strong they're automatically in that category but being corked off at both ends not to mention at the top end recirculating the exhaust when without all that crap on there not only less metal we have to manufacture for less engines built because they would last,better MPG that makes up for the missions, not to mention not having to rape the earth even further by the DEF and tail pipe end of the equation getting those precious metals! Don't get me wrong I absolutely hate those "rolling coal" videos and people doing it!! Thats what keeps middle aged hard working men/women from having a hard working,reliable multi million mile engine as I have no dought they'd last a couple million without all that crap and the new S&S 6.7 fuel pump ill have a real diesel engine soon enough! At 500,000 miles you should still have a still very reliable diesel engine as strong as these powerstrokes especially 17-19 are built with the 6R140! No offense to anyone just my opinion on this platform especially 17-19 I wouldn't even buy a newer one with what im seeing and hearing everyone go through with them!

I agree with what you said about 2023's and that goes for all manufacturers. One thing they learned during Covid shortages is that they can charge more for a cheaper product and people will still buy as long as cheap money is available to finance. Maybe they lose 5-10k on a finance deal but they gained 30k off the top with better profit margins. Combine that with a the demonization of combustion fuels we are looking at a sad decade for reliability. I am happy with my 2023 f150 5.0 so far. It's an STX so no frills.

Mud Terrains don't last as long. I had the Cooper AT3 XLT on my 2017 F250 FX4 6.7, and got 50k and still had 9/32" on it before I tossed them for Micky Thompsons Baja Boss ATs. Burnouts and towing both wear tires out. You should measure your tires to gauge your average mileage per each /32" of rubber. Then measure then after you do some burn outs and see how many mile's of usage you are wasting doing burnouts.

Good god y'all whine like women. Guaranteed in 2 years y'all are going to be singing the 23+ SD praises, because y'all are Ford guys, which means it's the best, and you've grown use to it's looks, etc. It happens every F'in time. I don't care if it's an 18 Mustang GT, 19 Silverado 1500, 19 Ram 1500, 2020 Silverado 2500, 07 GT500, C6 Corvette, etc, the fans of that series of vehicle always hate on that series newness at first, then accept it, and eventually learn to prefer it. I was like this with the 21 F150. I never thought that the 21 F150 was ugly, but I found it borning, and "meh" looking. Now, a few years later I've learned to appreciate it's simple, and clean design. When spec'd correctly a 23 SD is not ugly, but let's act like men here and deal with reality in an honest way, bed steps aren't intended to add in style, but are made to help in functionality, and easing the use of a tall, modern truck as a work vehicle. As a 2018 F150 FX4 owner I can saying in all honesty that GM's bumper/bed step setup is way better then Fords tailgate step setup. In fact the tailgate step sucks balls compared to the bumper steps when it comes to practically, easy of use, convenience, confidence inspiring, and solid feel when in use to move heavy items in, and out the bed, etc. The clean and hidden looks of the tailgate step do look better visually though. The real gist of it is that in reality GM's beds are the best in the business. They're big, not aluminum, and the multifunction tailgate is actually very useful, and better than anything Ford, FCA, Yota, or Nissan make. I understand the importance of looks on a new, expensive truck, but the OP isn't the one to be complaining about it. First you're rocking an 8' bed on a non-DRW truck. You're obviously prioritizing functionality over looks here, as long beds are ugly, especially on crewcab trucks. (6.5' beds are ugly on crewcab half-tons) Unless you're a total redneck, the OP's front bumper does not add in improving upon the looks of a 2017 F250 Lariats frontend, but it's definitely looks pretty beefy, but heavy in both a good and bad way. Toolboxes mounted in the bed, do not help make trucks look better, but they can ade it function depending on what you use your truck for. Obviously the OP's F250 is far from the cream of the crop in terms of good looking 2017 SD truck, but it seems that he set it up to add value to it for him in his line of work, which 500 HP and 1,200 lb-ft OEM, a 10R140, and bedside/bumper steps do to the 2023 SD's, so why is the internet whining about it's style so much? A mid-2000's 6L PSD SRW SD with the 5 spoke 20's is a better looking truck than any style SD released since then. Does that make it a better truck than a modern 6.7L PSD truck? No. Should people say, "my 06 F250 FX4 looks better than a 23 F250, so I'm not going to upgrade, even though my 6L is costing me out my ass in repairs, and at 340K miles of hard use the whole truck's just tired. I depend on my truck for my business, and can easily afford to step into a newer one, but gee golly they sure don't look as good as my 06, so I'll just keep compromising my back health, and safety basic on my old, worn out truck, that see a lot of work looking better with its 5 spoke OEM wheels and no bed/bumper steps."

@@JROC734 And here is one that affects safety: Of the 3 manufacturers mentioned, Ford is the only one with a major safety flaw in the design of their auto transmission!!! • In an emergency, you can't push the shift lever from D into N with an open palm!!! This is not shifting in the normal sense by pulling up on the shift lever and changing gears! • On Ram, Chevy, GMC as well as most other auto manufacturers you can do the emergency disconnect move - Honda, Toyota, BMW, Lexus, Audi, Mercedes, Nissan just to name a few!!! • The same is true on Ford's console mounted auto transmissions - you can't do the above move but have to push the lockout button!! • The whole idea behind this safety design is to allow the driver to disconnect the engine from the drivetrain without having to worry about putting the trans into Reverse! There is a safety detent and the transmission cannot go into Reverse with this emergency procedure! • No dealer know about this because for some reason, the manufacturers do not publish this info!!! Try it - you just may be pleasantly surprised unless you own a Ford product!!!!

@@JROC734 Of all the HD truck manufacturers, Ford has the best styling even though, they messed up big time for the 23s. Remember, styling is a no cost design element and it is only the way it is executed that affects costs. Search KZfaq for the Huracan Tecnica and what Lamborghini did!
