Hi, my choice would be this M50d, because it's the most powerful diesel. If you drive a lot and don't want to go to the gas station everytime, you should consider the 40d or the m50d, depending on the power you want ;) But if you can afford the gasoline price, of course the best is the X5M And if you don't drive long distances, perhaps the X5 50i with ethanol ?

This is a VERY vague description. I drove the 30d and now own the M50d. They share the same basic engine (N57), but many things differ: From 30d to 40/50d, you have increased injection pressure, as well as one turbocharger more per bigger engine (1 for 30d, 2 for 40d, 3 for 50d). Also, due to the increased torque (110Nm more than the 40d), the M50d is actually not that less fuel efficient than you might think. Same with CO2 and NOx. All three of them have SCR Cats. Most people drive the 30d with around 9 l/100km. Both, the 40d and M50d lie around 10 l/100km. Also, yes, the "M-Badge" makes this car more expensive when going to the dealer; however doing stuff on your own does most likely not change the cost between any of the three. Example brakes: Both 30d and 40d share the same small sized brake disks. The M50d has the same as the M50i; which is much more durable. I should know, because I drive the M50d. And if you purchase this car as a used one, the prices tend to normalize quite fast as equipment is most likely more generous in the M50d's.

Because you might not get better times. Sport+ just eases the traction control for funnier driving (yeah, funnier, cause drifting is something you should only do with this during snowy days on a lonely parking lot).

theto ramashala do you know Mr. how triple turbo works? Basically two small turbo low rpm and one bigger for higher rpm. The same for the new 50d that has 4 turbo. Two small and two big for the same reason. The 40d has two turbo but the size is something between. Both 40d and 50d have the same engine N57. So what is the difference? The difference is on the electronic program related to the 3rd turbo that has bigger diameter. O-60 have difference of 0.xxxs so I strongly believe 40d is better because it is two litter per 100km more economic and has less co2 emissions, same size of turbo as the 50i with 585hp ext ext But if you want to spend per year let’s say 500-700dollars more to have less 0.xxx seconds more quick is up to you? The 60hp more just give less 0.xxx seconds. So the 15.000 more is a scam to take your 💰
