@@dragospahontu It stops at that speed instantly, definitely a meter kicking in stopping the car from going faster. It was gaining speed fast at 225 until it just suddenly stops.

@@theweeknd2725 it is normal for 180hp compact hatchback with a cd of 0.27. A Škoda Octavia IV 1.5TSI 150hp MHEV DSG7 can do 229km/h with a cd of 0.24.

No Civic ever has just 182 Hp! Theyre all above 195hp till 205 hp. And ofcourse they can do better than just GPS 220 Km/h. but theyre Limited. Theoretical they should go around ~245 Km/h. And the CD is 0,26 for the hatch.

That's because they only had to haul around 2300 Lbs or a little under 1050 Kg. This thing is right around 2800 or 1300. Still not bad, surprised it wasn't governed lower.

I saw that several civic owners put them on the dyno and the car is actually making around 190 - 195 hp, some even more. This is why the 0 to 100 time is significantly better than what Honda claims. The cvt version is even faster, 0 to 100 in 7.2 seconds.

Klass had to trade my 1.4 turbo after 7 months because the engine was failing from LSPI 😂 they’re a disaster honestly. Never ever going back to Vauxhall. Got my 1.5 turbo and I absolutely adore everything about it.

"I have a 2017 Sport Touring Hatchback 1.5 Turbo 6 Speed Manual in sonic gray and it is the best car I have ever owned: quick & sporty (good suspension), efficient and relibale...What an awesome car...All I did is throw in a set of 2.5 cm spacers all around, a set of HFP 19" rims wrapped in proper summer tires and it drives like on rails...Last year I bought a 9th gen with the NA engine and 5 speed and it was a dog...The difference is night and day...! My next will be the 2024 Sport Touring Hatchback which will be the last year of the manual gearbox here in Canada....What a shame!

Actually the VTC system on the 1.5 turbo is technically superior. Also. Turbo's and VTEC don't get along. The new type R uses VTEC in a different way. This engine is very sophisticated.

+SkizomanX No, It is measured with: 10hz GPS... QSTARZ LT-6000S. It is possible to measure it with phone but... it isn't accurate. Internat phone Gps module has 1hz refresh rate. It measures about every 1 second. 10hz Gps measures your position every 0,1 sec. For iPhone exist "Bad elf" 10hz Modul but it doesn't work properly. For android you have many choices. QSTARZ BT-Q818XT Bluetooth Modul is i think the best choice. It turns your android phone to proper measuring machine! :)

The CVT is even faster because it doesn't have to shift. It has no gears and is always in the right ratio. I've been surprised how many people I've smoked.

It doesn't have a high cam profile like the one found in the old type r or USDM k20 found in the acura RSX Type S or 06-11 civic Si that have a big kick after around 6,000rpm.

The 1.5L-T is a forced induction, with a Valve timing controller for valve closing gaps at all RPM ranges. There is no Vtec on the new Honda Turbo's unless you get the Type-R. Plus the new Turbo's red-line at 7000, not 8000. It will feel weird at first i'm sure.

Depending on how you look at it: in very simple words, a 1.5 with turbo can accelerate as fast as, say a 2.0 engine of simular design but without turbo. Turbos make for both torque and horsepower. The other thing that makes torque and horsepower, is the displacement, is the engine 1.5 or 2.0 liters. Adding displacement adds torque, but adds even more horses. With turbos it's the other way round. Acceleration in a 0-100 way is much a story of torque. Having a high top speed is much a way of hp. so in short, a 1.5 without turbo is both slower in acceleration as in top speed as a 1.5 with turbo. the 1.5 with turbo wil accelerate as fast as a 2.0 without turbo, but will not have a that high top speed. Don't take my word for the exact numbers of displacement. I can be a 1.5 vs 1.8 or 2.2 or who knows, but this should be the theory :p

Engine exhaust gases contain a lot of energy. A turbo is a device consisting of a turbine extracting some energy from these gases connected to a turbine pushing air into the engine. Because the engine gets more air it has more torque. More torque means more power. More power means faster acceleration. Top speed depends on power, but also on how fast the gearbox allows the car to go.

Iphone has refresh rate 1hz .. tacho 5hz..tacho is faster at refreshing but at top speed is GPS (phone) .. the real speed.

Larry Walden Its really hard to get a driving licence in Germany. On Autobahn left lanes are for passing only! if you are in left lane and saw a fast car approaching you in your review mirror, you are required to immediately switch to right lane and let that car pass you. The fast car behind you will be fined if caught passing you in right lane and you will be fined for not switching lane.

German drivers are of the best in the world and are very disciplined. 9/10 times there is an accident, it's caused by a foreign driver. IMO Polish truck drivers are the most risky ones driving on the German Autobahn. They do make lange changes without looking in their mirror, my experience. I only drive this fast, when conditions and traffic on the Autobahn are as in this video. Make sure you keep looking far away and that the car (and tyres) are in mint condition, and then it's 100% safe. Driving on a 90 km/h landroad in France is many times more dangerous!

Kids, please don't do this at home! Stopping on the Autobahn (as done at the start) is *VERY* dangerous, even more so on the left lane! Imagine someone coming from behind with 300 km/h... On a sidenote, it's also forbidden, though the 35€ fine is quite meager.

This is actualy the start of a highway, you can see his mirror when starting and there is no road behind him, just some barrier.
