Just bought this model 2017 at 57k and I am loving it. The fuel is another level from my old Tuscan. It cost l)around $90 full tank on Premium unleaded and it got me from Coffs to Sydney and still had a quater of a tank left.😱 On my old Tuscan cost over $120 on normal unleaded to fill up now with price rising, but smaller than the Honda. Definitely love my Honda and I will probably upgrade in two years to a newer model of this.

Good stuff mate, you went into the things that other car reviewing channels don't talk about such as the size of the fuel tank which is helpful when working out how much it will cost to fill up. I enjoyed it 👍👍

Hi Johnathan, thanks for the feedback. I guess I am still finding my voice with the reviews but I am trying to find areas where I can add a little extra bit of extra value to the content, beyond the "brochure speak" which is inevitable with this style of review.

Hi There, Thank you for the review. I really liked it. It was short and detailed. Keep up the good work. Can you confirm if the VTi-LX model has an electronic boot that can be opened without a keyfog - for example: with the foot motion under the boot?

Hey Yash, there are no foot motion sensors, sorry. The tailgate is height adjustable which is a smart feature.

Really hate the fact Honda Australia doesnt have Honda sensing for the seven seater, super counter intuitive decision. We were planning to grab the VTI-L and we know it doesnt have Honda Sensing, but after realizing it doesn't even have AEB really changed our mind now.. I mean we can live without that I know since we survived this long without, but if we're buying a brand new 2018 FAMILY car above 40K$.... might aswell have that feature.

Ironic how in the US the "LX" is the lowest base model. I'm jealous of the pano-sunroof and led foglights, but we get active safety in all but the LX model for much cheaper. I did notice the VTEC badge - but isn't it just turbo and direct injection now? you guys get valve timing too?

Hey Phrancis5, yes the exclusion of active safety for the lesser models in the range certainly hurts the CR-V at the low end. There is talk of Honda eventually including active safety across the entire CR-V range but I can find no confirmation of when that is likely to happen. The VTEC thing is even more confusing. All aussie CR-Vs are fitted with the 1.5L Direct injected Turbo, which is claimed to be VTEC and is branded as such. I find it difficult to believe that the US delivered version of the apparently the same motor doesn't have VTEC, although the spec on the Honda US site definitely describes the motor as "16-Valve DOHC" with no mention of VTEC. So the conclusion is that Honda has 2 versions of the 1.5L Direct injected Turbo, one with VTEC and one without? Really, that seems crazy and doesn't really add up.

How is the road noise when on freeway?

Hi Gaurav, I found the CR-V very quiet at 100 kmph, minimal wind noise with some minimal road noise from the tyres. Certainly nothing intrusive, very relaxed on the open road.

The sweeping camera pans made me dizzy, plus I couldn't hear your voice clearly, sounded soft and unclear. Only made it to 1:56 before jumping out.

Thanks for the feedback. With regards to the pans was it the speed of the pan or just the general smoothness that you weren't comfortable with? Sound mixing is still a work in progress, I can normalise the volume levels in post but I do find the sound becomes a little artificial in quality. It is a matter of finding the right presets that suit my voice, so further experimentation is no doubt required.
