When i visited Seattle for a few days, the rental car i got was a Kia Optima. I'll have to say, it was the first Kia I drove, and I was impressed with the quality and comfort of it. Definitely want one now, it was such a decent car, and highly underrated.

Excellent video. Thank you for explaining the proximity key functions. None of the salesmen knew about the small buttons on the doors, so I kept using the remote to lock and unlock. You showed how the sunroof articulates but not how to get them into those configurations. The switch gives me only two obvious modes:: open and close. I will eventually RTFM but your video gave me a convenient quick primer for my new SXL. I appreciate your help.

I love your reviews ... they are better than other reviews and every time I want to see a car I like ... The first thing I do is go to your channel and watch some satisfying vehicles 🤤 I love how you put in-depth into the cars exterior/interior and take your time going thru the tech of the car while other review only shows the outside and they go too fast for the in-depth exterior/interior review and doesn’t show lots of the features of the car. Keep it up and make the videos more longer and a little bit more in-depth in the car !! 🙂

I bought a 2017 Kia Optima SX and let me tell you, the car is so much better than what the video shows. It's so nice, rides smooth, great steering, great gas mileage (in my opinion), Headlights turn with you, and so much more. The car just has so many nice features that a lot of these videos do not show you. Inside is spacious and nice, really user-friendly tech. Great car overall and I'm having a great time driving it. The only thing my car did not have is the 360 degrees camera, which i'm a little bummed it did not have but it's not necessary I guess.

If I'm not mistaken the Kia current generation was redesigned for 2016 while the Mazda was for 2013, a fact very important when discussing engineering, space, design language and potentially engine options. The Mazda6 is likely scheduled for a 2018 redesign and based on their engine lineup, may offer the 2.5 turbo now offered with the cx9. Also, the Mazda has an actual driving soul, attractive looks and modern cabin design often compared to the German brands. I own the 2017 M6 GT and have driven numerous BMW 3 series offerings. the 6 drives like a FWD BMW and offers far greater value than entry level Bavarian options . it has similar drive feel and better equipment for the price. I've driven the Kia optima with the 2.0 T and I find it above average in the segment. but the Kia doesn't make the drive feel sporty. It just has a turbo lagged engine in a car that pretends to be high powered and returns mid 7 seconds 0 to 60 numbers very similar to the NA 2.5 M6 engine that only has 184 HP. If your measuring stick is practicality and price point, then buy the Kia because that's what Kia wants to impress you with. If you want attractive looks with a sporty feel and a better bargain than comparable German brands, don't kid yourself . the only one that can actually compare is the Mazda6

My friend recently got a 2017 Mazda I Touring, and i was actually fairly impressed with the styling and the cabin. My favorite feature is the infotainment screen and the knobs used to control it. Now i just got a used 2016 Kia Optima SXL and im extremely impressed with it as was my friend. I think the Mazda 6 has the more appealing exterior, however the Optima in this trim wins the interior and offers some features the Mazda 6 doesn't and feels almost luxury like. I think you cant go wrong with either car you just have to see which one you like better. I should also note that the Kia Optima 2.0 Turbo has 245 HP and 260lb feet of torque VS the Mazda 6 with 185HP and 184 lb feet of torque so the actual 0-60 time for this car is sub 7 seconds Edmunds got 6.7 seconds VS 7.6 seconds with the Mazda 6. So the optima is almost a second faster which is why I chose the Optima over the Mazda 6 its just too slow for me. The Kia Optima doesn't pretend to be anything, in this trim its more a entry level luxury car with some sporty aspects such as the fake and real vents, red brake calipers and the flat bottom steering wheel, which is awesome BTW.

Me and my wife picked up a 2017 ex optima and I kinda like it. It does have a luxury feel for sure. I'm a muscle car guy but sometime things happen and with kids, a coupe was out of the question, seeing as I already have a turbo 2003 cobra I'm building at the moment, and since my jeep liberty blew up, I needed a car to get to work so u grabbed a 2017 turbo sr sentra. I would have liked to get an sxl optima but with my wife already having an optima, I didn't think having 2 was plausible. I haven't driven the sxl (3,575lb) but with 245hp 260tq, I really wonder why it says it runs a 15.6sec 1/4mile time @ 90mph (auto maybe, but the auto should still be faster than the sentra) and the 188hp 177tq sentra (3,030lb) does it at 15.3sec @ 92mph. How is that possible? I think the real specs for the manual are more like 14.9/15sec 1/4mile @ about 94mph. Still too close to the sentra 1/4mile time for a 55hp difference. The price my wife paid for the ex she could have gotten an sxl but with the slightly bigger 2.4 n/a engine in the ex, strapping a turbo to that will have bigger gains than the 2.0 will for sure. I've heard the turbo kit for the 2.4 ex boosted hp to 450-460hp range which isn't bad even thought that's close to destruction. Maybe one day we could find the 3.3L in a wrecked Sorento and swap it in the optima. (Project anyone?)

In all Hyundai/Kia products you can press the dead key fob to the start button and the sensor will trigger the engine to start normally. Hope this helps :)

Not bad apart from the awful mazda 6 like wheel design and the grandma flowery seat fabric design. I like the camera modes but why do they keep insisting on using annoying shiny black plastic in car interiors?
