They wouldn’t have problems if they are treated like a truck and not like it’s a Japanese drift car or a 1969 Chevelle with a 572 in it doing 4WD launches from a dig light to light. I have a 12 with a 68RFE. Over 160,000 miles. Truck runs like my 21 with the Aisin. It’s like people who don’t own them go off what other people that don’t own one regurgitate or the ones that abuse their trucks, break it then cry the truck or trans suck. Aisins are not the do all. They can have pressure and clutch control solenoid issues. Some have had sordid oil pump and valve body problems. I stick to my intervals, get a little heavy footed once in a while but I don’t over do it. The truck just makes me feel happy like my 05 3500 BigHorn with an 8ft bed that I had before these guys. That had the 48RE with 220,000 miles I got from a farmer when I was stationed in Idaho. It didn’t give me a lick of trouble other than my injectors went. I replaced them myself. I only got rid of it because my friend who owns a dealership had the 2012 I have in stock and wanted to trade for my 05. I just payed for plates and taxes. He wanted my 5.9 engine because he knows I take care of my vehicles. He had me drop my 5.9 in an old military Dodge M37 Power Wagon. That was a fun project and beautiful truck when me and the boys were finished. I use only Chrysler trans fluid, Shell Rotella or Royal Purple. Truck runs like a dream 12 years later. I literally just finished doing my front end last week. You will have turbo or Turbo actuator failures before these trans if you treat them right.
