2017 RMX450Z Throttle restriction screw removal. Uncork full throttle.

From what I've been reading, on a stock '17 / '18 RMX450z you can only remove the throttle stop without having to mess with the EFI map, and it will run good enough. If you remove either the intake baffle (the plastic spout going into the filter) or the muffler baffle then you will need to install an aftermarket EFI Tuner (JD Jetting being one of them), otherwise it'll run too lean.

I did remove the intake restriction, it runs fine. I won't do the exhaust though. It started backfiring. Any more than the intake then I'll need to re-map.

Just wanted to make another couple notes here. 1st, I didn’t review the video before posting it, so I didn’t know my face wasn’t visible. Lastly, I didn’t mess with the exhaust baffle because it’s spot welded in place. The intake was easy, you just pull the rubber boot through the inside of the air box.

How many threads did you cut off the throttle stop screw when putting it back in?

Hey ive just brought a JD tuner i have it installed but i dont know how to tune the bike, its got a full yoshi system, any advice on what to do. thanks

did you find a new restrictor screw? if yes, where did you bought it? unfortunately i couldnt find it in the spare part catalog.

Hi TURBORAM33 was you able to find a replacement stopper screw I looked up parts and it does not sell as separate. Is the screw metrics in size?

I RTV’d the hole with black silicone.

I can’t get to the screw with a regular screw handle. Did you put pliers on the t25?

I used a 1/4 inch socket on a 1/4 drive set ratchet.

Did you notice any backfiring with just the throttle screw out?

No, it doesn’t backfire with the throttle screw out. The fuel injection computer is perfectly mapped for full throttle use, so you shouldn’t experience mixture issues through the full range of throttle. It did start backfiring when I took the baffle and spark arrestor out of the muffler though. I put it back in and just left out the intake restriction.

They're the factory Suzuki RMX wheels. It's a trail bike so the rear is an 18".

Jorge Garcia , that’s not even my real voice, and yes, I must not let the manufacture know my identity as I will need my warranty for when the piston hits me in the nuts 🥜. Though, if I was Bruce Wayne I wouldn’t have bought a leftover 2017 RMX.

So, training wheels for Suzuki owners? Get a KTM.

IRQ1Conflict It actually moves out very well once i did the few updates. I paid 7000 OTD on this. VS 12K OTD on a KTM. I can sink 1K into this and run with KTM.
