Cherry bomb won't work on '17+ model because the EFI module is locked to comply with the Feds. The EPA sued the shit out of the RMX back on the '11 and '12 models. It made Suzuki yank the bike the first time around. If you know a work around then fess up.

yamguy33 I have the same '10 model but I can't find where to buy the cherry bomb. Any advice? Thanks

Thanks bud. I'm not sure what the cherry bomb actually does, I had put away my off-road gear and was running the Ninja back in '10. By adjusting the voltage to a higher value, it's tricking the ECM to think the throttle is open more, keeping the injector open a tick longer, resulting in a richer fuel/air mixture.

They can be a little tricky to get to read depending on the tips on your meter leads. Make sure the power is on to the bike and gently move the lead tips around inside the plug housing. With minimal movement you should make contact and see the voltage on the meter.

Thanks for the reply and for the video! I’m going to borrow a multimeter from a friend with longer skinnier leads and see if that helps.

Just an update. My friend came over today and we tested it with his multimeter with finer prongs and it read .62 every time. My bike had 600km on it when I got it and the throttle stop was removed. I removed the restrictors on the air box and the muffler (you could tell the muffler for sure had never been done as the factory sealant was still in place). I had not drivenmy bike since I removed those things as I wanted to adjust the tps first. After the reading i fired it up and it runs great. Starts 5x easier and runs way smoother. I’m wondering if the previous owner adjusted the tps and didn’t remove the snorkel and baffle? It has me confused but happy! Thanks again!

Still running great although I've not had a chance to ride much, life's got in the way lol . I've put a little over 400 miles on it since the changes and it's doing great.

I've no experience with the JD box so I can't answer that. As far as the emissions sticker, I've never had a reason to check. Sorry, not much help on either

Yea it sounds like it's running too lean, like mine was. It might be harder to start unless you do the airbox and exhaust mods as well. Post back with what you do and the end result if you would. Thanks!

Sorry for the delay Chuck. That's the main reason I done this, so I wouldnt have to buy a tuner. I dont know much about the JD, but I would imagine once you find a setting you like, you leave it. So, I played around with this one to find what suited me and left it. The tuners are so expensive, but, I'm sure they do more than this but I dont know for certain as to what they actually do. Then again, these adjustments dont cost anything either. Good luck with whatever you decide

@@Marcus323H outside of plastic and graphics colors there's no difference between the 17 18 and 19 so these adjustments should be good for all three years
