First time drivers of these SWB 4WD's hit the roads in one of these in the wet they end up rolling them or aquaplaning it into a pole... They're not what I would consider a novice / naive drivers car at all.

Yeah. Jimny got a bad rap from American critiques who compared its on-road capabilities to sedans (still laughing those 0-60 comparison videos. It's a 1.3 offroader for god's sakes) and its off-road capabilities with high-end full sized off-roaders. Sad really.

Well. It seems they want to introduce it back to the States under Toyota's. Looks like that is what is coming for the 2019 model, the new generation one.

Don't worry it's coming there under Toyota badge, may be sooner than you might anticipate.

Simon Cowell I will gues, if you doo everything by yourself.....car brand new is €17-18 thousand, the tires are minimaly 600€, suspension i dont know but i gues 2000€, roof rack (i dont know the price), snorkel 300€...Lets just say €25 thousand, my friend and his dad bought a used one for 2500€ and they dropped abouth 2500-3000€ in it, they repaired all the body issues by themselves, they bought higher suspension, mud tires, a snorkel....and i think thats about it...so think about it....you buy a used one (15yrs old) with 120-170 thousand kilometres in the clock and you put another 3000-4000€ in the car and you have a off road beast...dont worry about the engine, its very good one and used one to replace them are cheap...my neighbour paid 300€ for a replacement engine on his Vitara 1.6 8V

Ich komme nach meinen Berechnungen eher auf etwa 25000€. Das ist der Extreme 3-Ausbau von Gollek. Kostet 10000€. MIt dem Grunpreis vom Jimny (etwa 15000€) wären das dann 25000€. Wo hast du die Zahlen her?

Ihr müsst auch das berechnen was man nicht sieht ! 100% Sperren, eventuell kürzer übersetze Achsen oder VTG, längere Bremsschläuche, längere Kontrollarme, Lenkungskomponenten, Kardanwellen usw. je nach Lift Kit muss da viel angepasst werden 🤑 Kann gut sein das da nochmals 10-20‘000 investiert wurden 😁
