What even happened there at the end with the Russian coach?

I think it something about Race’s coach, he is Sergei Golubitsky and his father was one of the best Russian fencer of all time. So maybe the russian coach was salty or mad that he coaches for Americans now.

I have a question regarding that Point-in-Line touch by Race @ 3:45. It looked like he moved his blade as Safin advanced upon him. Did the ref just not see it or did he view it as a justified derobement, thus allowing Race to retain Right-of-Way?

I would say as long as the blade stays in the same general line then it is valid-this movement was too small for it to invalidate Imboden's touch.

Blade movement is completely allowed to keep a Point-in-Line, but if the movement is so big that the point stops threatening the target area then it breaks the PIL.
