We've always loved the Multistrada but now Ducati have done the seemingly impossible and made it even better. Actually, no, scratch that; they've made it BRILLIANT! Harry waxes lyrical.

Mine is a 2019 Multistrada 1260S, and it's absolutely wonderful. I've been riding for 53 years, and nothing I've ridden comes close to this ridiculously sophisticated platform matched with that spectacular engine. Incidentally, the annoying false neutral issue disappears by 1K miles on the odometer, as is true on most all Ducatis.

The thing that many people mistake about this bike is to compare it against BMW R1200 GS and being disappointed with its off-road capability. While this is meant to be a competition to BMW S1000 XR.
@mark38636 жыл бұрын
I sold my XR and bought a 2016 Multistrada S, the only thing I missed was the quick shifter; but the bike is soooo much better all round I actually fell in love with it😘 The new Multi now has a quick shifter and more torque, which is crazy just so it can show up the KTM 1290 super duke. I love all that electronic gadgetry, it makes me a better rider and keeps me and my wife safe. No fiddling with suspension just the touch of a button and off I go. Ducati Capetown service is fantastic.

I've had mine for three months and 3,500 miles and it just gets better and better. The difference in the bike from new to the present now it's loosened up is amazing. If you like it new you will love it a few miles in. And if you aren't sure when you test ride, you soon will be! . By far and away the best bike I have ever owned. Only slight negatives are the screen, as mentioned, and for me the seat is not the best for any long distances, I've since changed both and all is good. I'm like Harry and could gush all day......magnificent bike!

Bought the Pikes Peak two weeks ago. It's absolutely an amazing bike. The torque at lower rpm's is really smooth and presents a whole lot of grunt. Getting it fitted with side bags for a ride around Lake Superior next month. Love, love, love the bike!

Awesome video!! :) I had a 1200 Multi and also a 950 Multi. Now I have a V4 Pani, a motorcycle with sooo much power, that for my riding stile, it works more as a mobile piece of art than as a fun machine for the streets. Having said that, I would like to own the off-spring of a Multi 950 with a V4 pani. Maybe a Multi 750 V4. :)

Bart Ingels I solved my windscreen issues (‘13 Multi) with a new helmet. Not helped, SOLVED. Schuberth S2. No buffeting/turbulence. My RF1200 felt like it came with it’s own mini-drummer. Some helmets are able to nullify turbulent air. But most do not.

My favourite adventure bike, too, I suppose. But all these bikes are a bit too heavy. And the electrics seem so complicated. If it's got to be a Ducati, give me a simple Scrambler. Good review.
@IgnitionBikeShow6 жыл бұрын
Heavy, maybe, but let's not forget that this really isn't an adventure bike at all; it's a sports tourer with the tall adventure bike styling that is so popular these days. And the weight is easily managed because the seat height is so low and you really feel like you sit 'in' the bike, not on it. Overall, it might just be the perfect package of practicality and performance.

Where we are in Johannesburg, the autumnal and winter weather is often better than summer; no rain at all, cold nights but blue-skied, sunny days that can get really warm. It can be a problem (well, not really); you set out in the morning when it's really chilly and dress accordingly only to be stripping off layers as the day progresses. But it has to be the perfect riding weather.

Never thought I wanted one either until a bike trip around Tuscany Italy w a group of people (many on 1200 Multistradas) and then a trip to the Ducati factory for a tour afterwards. Now I can’t stop thinking about them and once I drove one it’s impossible to not want one. Test drove the Triumph Tiger 1200 , the BMW R1200R and Ducati 1200 MultiStrada. The BMW is so nice and smooth and functional and perfect, but the Ducati felt like a Ferrari and it’s hard not to want a Ferrari.

Bill Dietrich I had a Multi back in 2005 and that was a brilliant bike. I swapped that for a KTM 990SMT which was the bike Ducati should have made next IMHO (but didn’t obviously). Since then I’ve struggled to find an Adventure Sport that isn’t overweight, over-powered and farkled up for Starbucks Long Way Round wannabes. I already have a 250cc Enduro so I’m not interested in that pretend dual sport shite. The 1290 Super Duke is a nasty lash up if you’re familiar with the superior products KTM used to make. I tried the MTS 950 but it turns out that’s just a newbies’ bike. Right now I have an MV Turismo Veloce which is delightful in almost every way. Again, why Ducati didn’t make it is a mystery but then if you can sell 150bhp ‘Enduro’ bikes with lights in the bash guards for ££££$$$$$€€€€ then perhaps that’s a clue. So no, I haven’t tried the 1260 cruiser engined behemoth yet but if nothing better turns up in the next two years then yes, I’ll probably end up buying one. Or giving up.
