2018 Fat Bob 114 ci Review - Harley Davidson.
Finally, i got to take the Fat bob out! In a nutshell, i loved it. Still think i'd end up customising it quite a fair bit. Great platform for HD. Please note that I had to deal with the following conditions on the test route which made the review less white knuckle interns of pushing the bike more.
1) British horrible wet weather
2) Wet roads
3) New bike (13 miles on the clock)

I purchased mine last December and my only serious issue is the amount of water it throws on me from the rear tire. I took it to a bike show and took 2nd and its still stock. Younger crowd loved it.

Dude I love your reviews man! Back in August I was gonna purchase the 2017 street bob after watching your review on it. But then I decided to wait until the new 2018 models came out and I'm glad I waited because this new Fat Bob looks amazing ! Keep it up mate !

Well done with the review, mate! I agree with just about everything you said. Test rode it a few days after the presser, and was really impressed with the total package. I see this bike, or your current bike in my future! Hopefully I can find a nice, pre-owned when that day comes!

I hadn't rode a bike in years, I seen the new Fat Bob and loved the look. I went straight to my local Harley dealer and jumped on one for a test ride. Yeehaa! Looks like I'm getting back into riding next year! Harley must have done something right because they pulled me back into the market after having been absent for years. I think they are going to be successful with bringing in new riders to their brand. Smart.

I really enjoy all of your videos. it's a rider perspective versus a dealer perspective. it comes down to personal preference. in this bike I see classic Harley, sport bike looking exhaust, dual purpose looking tires, and futuristic looks. it's trying to appeal to a wide range of riders. attracting younger riders isn't really a model issue it's a money issue. Harley here in the states does a poor job of advertising the finance options. many folks don't know they take various types of trades like cars, boats,4 wheelers, etc. they don't advertise the rider to rider financing either. most folks don't know you can finance a private party sale thru the dealership. my son is 25 and was hell bent on a sport bike. that need for speed that we all had. I talked him into going to the Harley dealer and riding some bikes. after we talked about the kind of riding he wanted to do, to my surprise he chose a heritage and loves it.

yep, all excellent points, harley really should hire you on. Another thing they need to realize, young riders dont have 20 grand to drop on a bike. They keep saying they want to appeal to young riders, then release a bike, that only an old dude can afford

I test rode the 107 a few weeks ago and loved it as well. I thought the riding stance was very comfortable and the handling was phenomenal. This bike is getting a bad rap from the diehard Harley fans, but I feel like the 2018 Fat Bob is new school vs old school and is mainly aimed to more of a new school rider vs the older Harley rider. This was a fun video as always!

I stopped by the local Harley dealership to check out the new Fat Bob. Love it. I own a 2014 Fat Bob and think I will keep it even though I love the new Fat Bob. I would want the 114 and it makes the bike too pricey. I gave it thought to trade my 2014 in but after consideration I think I will keep my 2014 Fat Bob and save the money. I just cannot see spending that kind of money when I can focus on paying my 2014 off and doing some mods to it. Great job on video!

Fantastic-looking bike. Love the flat track bars. Stock it's slightly more powerful than my 1670 cc Yamaha MT-01 and puts out 4 ft/lb more but, although you say the Harley is light, it's 40 kg more than the MT. Your reviews are excellent.

Just looked at your review on the Indian scout and just looked at this review on the harley !I'm in the market for a bike ? these 2 have now caught my eye , which one of these is the best in your opinion?? The bike is only going to be used for work and home , freeway riding is involved at 110 kph then city riding at 40 to 60 kph See my drama ???? Have a honda cb 500 now that's doing the work What do u think ????

Excellent review... What are pros & cons of Fat Bob vs Breakout? This will be my very first road bike. I've rode mx bikes, but never a road bike before. I love the simplistic & minimalist look of this bike. Is this a good choice for first road bike? I fell in love with this bike when I walked into the HD showroom and saw 2018 Breakout Black ( it was first bike closest to the door ). I was intimidated at first. It seemed so big & too heavy compared to MX bikes. But after sitting on it for awhile, off & on for ~ 2 to 3 hrs, ( I was in showroom for 6hrs straight hrs 1st day & visited HD couple more days where I sat on it some more & felt more comfortable with weight ). Although they allow test drives I don't have a motorcycle license. They mentioned there's school I can go to on weekends to get on bike training & also pass written test and get license / certified. Majority of my rides will be less than 125 miles. However, I could see myself occasionally wanting to go 200 and rarely 300 or 400 miles one way? Sales people tried to convince me to buy 2018 CVO Road Glide because they said eventually it'd be a lot better because of all the additional features; however, although I could purchase the CVO, I like the simplistic & minimalist look of this bike... If necessary as I become better & more familiar with road bikes / breakout, I could purchase CVO Road Glide later, in addition to the breakout, if I really get into long distance riding. Is this bike ok for riding twisting roads in mountains? Would wind resistance against my body be an issue at 65 to 70 mph? Any thoughts & suggestions would be appreciated. I plan to get black version. There's 107, 114 & 117, which engine should beginner start with? I saw somewhere that tank on this is smaller 3.5g vs 5g. Again I love streamline look of this bike; however, some mentioned range is much more limited between refueling, 164 to empty ( 47 * 3.5 ) but should refuel at 1/4 before empty ~123 miles. Is that a problem? Some said it would / could be in group ride where other riders have 5g tanks and could go ~50 more additional miles before refueling. Thanks in advance for sharing..."

Really like your review. From LA but lived in Amsterdam for last two years. Rain Rain rain and more rain. Rode BMW's there. Back home in Los Angeles a year since Ive been back from NL. No bike. So just purchased the 2019 Sportster 883 Iron. Kept that two weeks. Then traded up for the Fat Bob. Wow what a bike. Test rode all the ones I liked but this 2019 FB 114 rides so nice. reminds me of my sports bikes. Very comfortable seat, suspension wonderful on the back. forward controls are comfortable but would adjust right brake lever a bit more back toward me. Bumps are so nice now. Adjustable ease. I flipped my mirrors so I can see 100% better. Few things I want to change is exhaust stage one ? For sound it would be nice if it were just a tad louder. Can be expensive -tuner- full pipes or just slip ons. Don't like how high the pipes are and long same as you said. Sissy with rear rack one piece aftermarket would be nice for travel backpack. Not going to put bags on this bike like it naked. I do have small HD tool bag for front of bike above headlight for small items. I'm in break in mode so yes easy on the tires brakes and engine.

Beautiful bike meant to perform. Almost bought one several months ago. The 3.6 gallon gas tank killed the deal. A regular ride of 220 miles or more is done often. In the far west mountains and deserts a range of 140 miles or so is unacceptable and may find me out of gas and no stations anywhere around. Maybe next years Fat Bob's will have a 5 gallon tank and allow this bike to actually do what it should was built for; long comfortable riding on a performance machine. Not looking for gas or just riding to grandma's or the Harley dealership!

In 2017/2018 I just want to know how long Harley Davidson is going to get away with a chain primary drive system? A new motor, new technology, better cooling and they are not using or designed a gear drive primary. Harley-Davidson can keep the traditional primary cover for appearances but go with a smoother and lower maintenance gear drive primary.

I'm pretty much the same size as you but for me riding position of the new fat bob was a bit off. Also the foot pegs were somehow weird, I couldn't get my legs comfortable in a way that they would just "hang" there, instead I had to tighten my leg muscles and physically keep my legs on the pegs which is tiring in the long run. Didn't have that problem with the other new models. Also the mirrors were so low that my fingers were constantly hitting them when working the clutch. That of course is a minor complain and easy to fix, but still. In addition to that, foot controls were angled in a weird way that it was not natural and effortless to use them.

Would have to change exhaust first and add a V&H Fuelpak 3 tuner with a better air intake. Then would change the handle bars to some pull backs. I've been thinking about this long and hard (since the beginning of my beer) and I have a solution to your issue with it always raining when you want to review a new bike. First, you'll need to recruit a few friends. The more the better. Second, get everyone into the North Sea. Third, push the U.K. further toward the center of the Atlantic Ocean. That's it. You're welcome.

Cheers. I'm an American but I grew up in Ipswich so I can sympathize. I live in Florida now but, honestly, I actually miss the weather over there. Ride safe.
