Compared to 2014, these V6s sound pretty loud. I’ve been to the USGP for four years in a row now, and every year the turbo engines have gotten louder. This last year, they were a little bit closer (but still not nearly as loud) to the V8 engine in terms of volume (especially the Merc-AMG engine), but the turbo motors are much more resonant and you really feel it in your chest. You hear a LOT of spool when they let off throttle too

It is a well known fact, television mix mixers do not do an adequate job in expressing the sound these revolutionary engines make. Like you I've been to the Canadian Gp a number and of times and wow! They sound great and are stupid fast. You literally feel the cars, the air as they quite fly by. It's something else. Every fan should visit a gp at least once. It's amazing.

They’ve got the waste gates open here which will make them significantly louder, they close them for the race so that’s why they’re quieter

Such a pitty they kept the front of the car white on the Sauber Alfa Romeo. The car would look so much better with Alfa red on top of the nose and on the Halo (like the Sean Bull design). Beside the fact that would look better, it will be way easier to see the difference between the Alfa and the Williams, which look basicly the same watched from the front. The Alfa won't ever be mistaken for a Ferrari since the Red colors are totally different. I really hope Sauber will see that some change to the livery is needed.

People need to shut up about the halo. If you like F1 I'm sure you like the drivers too, and if you like the drivers you should care for their safety. Is the car prettier with the halo? No, I don't think so, but does that matter? No, it really doesn't. If you watch F1 for the sport, and for the racing, the halo is an improvement. If you watch F1 because you think the cars look cool, then you're 12 and should think about the safety of the driver over how cool you think the car looks.

If a car ends up upside down, I don't see how a driver can exit the car given you have to do it sideways and the halo completely blocks sideways exit from the cockpit.

If Alfa Romeo put their own V10 engine in and it would be tuned by Alra Corse or Auto Delta it would beat all other cars but since it has a Ferrari engine it might be the way it is.

Ferrari and Alfa Romeo have been in the same family since 1920, when Enzo Ferrari himself was driving for Alfa with Campari, Ascari and Sivocci (the first who painted the quadrifoglio logo on the car to bring good luck) and so he had it on his car too, also at the start the quadrifoglio was in a white square (with the 4 edges representing the 4 drivers, so the Drake was included) before being in a triangle after Sivocci's death (they only kept the triangle because they had to maintain it as an historic symbol, especially since it is correlated to racing, in which Alfa had a great history and also in an Alfa Romeo you have to look at how it performs rather than the comfort, and the quadrifoglio alone wouldn't look good). Do you still think that a Scuderia Ferrari car shouldn't have the quadrifoglio on it now?

Lorenzo Melchiori Una F1 è talmente elevata nella tecnica che non basta solo la potenza, certo, fra una PU vecchia ed una aggiornata c'è gran differenza, ma lo sviluppo della vettura fra cui i pesi, il telaio, l'aerodinamica etc. etc. è tanto, poi ci sono piloti, e fra i due solo Leclerc sarebbe davanti a Kimi a pari vettura.
