@@mrhawk1924 we had a Hyundai elanyra my wife drove back and forth to work. It half and half hwy, surface streets. The 500 25, the elanyra 25. Hwy both around 30 mpg. Be comfortable or cramped, so the 500 was a good choice. Motor week tested the 500 on their show in 2005, and the 500 averaged 28.5 mpg. That's the main reason we bought it!

@@RepublicConstitution Yes. It's a major flaw in the 3.5 v6 across much of Ford's lineup. It's a great engine that can last a very long time BUT when the water pump fails it will leak coolant directly into the oil pan. It can easily destroy the engine and you won't even know what happened until it's too late. No symptoms other than coolant disappearing from the reservoir. The pump can also seize and destroy the engine that way because it's driven by the timing chain. Even today Ford is still building them the exact same way, they refuse to acknowledge that it's a design flaw. *edit* Forgot to mention that it's so expensive to replace the pump because you have to rip half the engine apart to get to it.

$1400? Where? That's a very good price for that repair on that engine.

Mine was over $2 Grand.

On average, city and hwy combined, I get 20 to 21 miles per gallon.

no european mondeo is with US Ford Fusion, Ford Taurus is bigger

In arizona was 2.85 per gallons but it was 3 month ago, california about 3.75 per gallons

Ich mag auch taurus, also manchmal gibts bei Patriot Military Automobiles ford Taurus dort. Patriot military automobiles hat ja mehr als 6 Standorte in Deutschland, die verkaufen US modelle für US amerikaner die in Deutschland stationiert sind, man kann auch als nicht amerikaner dort autos kaufen, muss man noch verzollen, mwst und bisschen umrüsten für tüv. www.patriot-autos.net Es gibt öfters Ford Fusion dort, taurus selten.

Sonst übrigens in der Schweiz gibts 3 Ford Taurus SHO zum verkauf, kostet so ca 15.000 euro, vielleicht würde ich den auch besorgen

I did drove only with 2.5L altima with about 180 hp, but 3.5L maxima i did drove 2 times, maxima was faster to be honest

@@TESTDRIVEFREAK thanks for replying and ok I kinda figured the Maxima had the advantage since it's lighter with the same size engine. But from your observation did you feel like the 2.5 4cylinder version of the Altima would have any chance against the Taurus?
