2018 HONDA GOLDWING TOP SPEED REVIEW - Needless to say, the new Gold Wing proved to be exceedingly impressive. Honda confidently brought along the old model as well, and riding the two back-to-back confirms the 2018’s differences on every level.
The 2018 Honda Gold Wing comes in two versions-the standard Gold Wing, and the Gold Wing Tour. The former is an F6B-style bagger design with a shorter windshield and no rear trunk, while the Gold Wing Tour has the more conventional windshield, plus the rear trunk that includes the passenger backrest and armrests.

For anyone really interested, I happen to own an 18 Honda Goldwing it's limited out of tye factory to 112mph, however I've had mine to an indicated 120, not hitting redline, and rock steady. It's a digital analog gauge, so it's far more accurate than the cable analog of yor....Here's more stats (I happen to sell them too), 90 pounds lighter than last year's, 4 valve heads now, aluminum sleeved cylinders, 200 section rear tire vs the 180 on previous models, the engine has been moved forward, the frame architecture is all new, the double wishbone front is great, great road feedback, less jarring, the different rider modes are great, defeatable traction control, and many other things. It rides like a large sport bike. Sounds great. It's still the pinnacle of touring motorcycles, others may have more power, but non will have the complete package the Goldwing does.

oh ok..i just watched the slide show pics and noticed the three individual spark plug caps on each side of the slide show.This reason alone makes these engines last so long because you have so many pistons working together to help keep down vibration and wear & tear much the same as to automobiles that have (4) cylinders or V6's ..everyone knows that a V6 is the overall best choice for power to weight ratio plus acceleration performance and the key here is "resonance" freq balance as it seems that 6cylinder vehicles tend to have best performance and economy if you try hard to work on your acceleration techniques?

Kudos Honda! 6-spd DCT on my NM4 was incredible. Looking foward to riding the 7-spd DCT GW: one less variable without the clutch... More attention to an enjoyable ride.

the more I see of the goldwing I'm sticking to touring on my ZX14R. Its just too Good. but i keep hoping they come up with a big bike I'll buy, searching. They are pretty bikes. How about a review of riding 2 up on the slab across Kansas which is what this bike was built for. Aces in their places

Sure, the new one is different from the old. The new Wing has 6 speeds, compared to 5 in the older ones. the new Wing has new tech and probably a working GPS. But too bad for its new looks, this wing looks more like a sport bike than a touring one. I got a 2012 GL and love it,

Looks like 110 mph to me by pausing the video. I do hate it when they fish like this with a headline but never tell the speed. This bike should do better than but not a great rider in this video.

Greg Morhardt it was in your mode . I’m sure if it were in sports mode it be allot faster . Sure its in tour and by definition tour is for highway use . Not track use.

Brian Martin Top speed is electronically limited to 114 mph and it doesn’t matter what mode your in. I have a 2019 Goldwing DCT and have tried it in every mode.

Road Glide I’d go for the K1600 because: it sounds better, revs 2500 rpm higher, looks better to be honest, is faster overall, and looks more elegant than the Honda. I do love Honda’s cars and motorcycles, but I think BMW wins here.

I went over 130MPH on my 2001 Goldwing and that wasn't the top speed. I have an F6B now. I don't think I'd care for the 2018 model, something not right about it.

I heard it is governed at 101mph or 160 kph. How on earth is that even reasonable for an 1800cc motorcycle, you may as well have an 180cc engine to achieve those performance numbers. The original GL1000 did 140mph!

I bought my Honda Goldwing DCT in 2019. Surprise, the maximum speed is limited by factory to 180 km / h. I don't understand why ... it's absurd and I never had that information.

They are responding to changing market demands and demographics. Some will not approve. The number of older riders who want a sedate luxo-barge tourer is diminishing. The new model performs better, has similar amenities and unless you are Shaq is probably fine fit wise. The weight is less which is a negative toward wind buffeting on long hauls but knowing honda I bet this is addressed with improved aero and a smoother engine. Whats the beef, it isnt such a behemoth? Illogical. Honda has a history of improving with every redesign. Its not a bigger, more bloated GL which some may have expected. What it is is a better motorcycle.
