I’ve ALWAYS have wanted a Wrangler but they are so expensive (even used). I settled for a awd Ford Escape for my snow adventures and it’s cheaper. One day i will make this my car that’s for sure!

Hi, great review Question. Did you test drive a hard top model? If so did you notice an excessive amount of wind noise? I test drove a JLUR at a dealership a few days ago and it seemed like a door was a jarred or a window was opened on the FWY Really loud wind noise. That one has been sold or I would go back and test drive it again and check all the doors and windows. Thank you in advance

I’m glad they upgraded the headlights to LED. Those were the first of many mods new owners made to the older model. It’s now as luxurious as a Mercedes G wagon 👌🏽

I just commented on someone else's reply - the problem is the dealerships always order a package that swaps out the 6 cylinder for the 4 cylinder eco boost with automatic trans and then add in either the electric + tow package or powered windows plus a year of sat. radio and then suddenly you're paying 5k more for a more crummy vehicle because all that stuff is extra - and I don't want any of it but unless I'm willing to have jeep custom make and ship one for me, I'm not going to find the one I want at any dealership.

That seems unlikely. This engine derives from the new Global Medium Engine from FCA, firstly used last year on the Alfa Romeo Giulia and this year in the Stelvio, without the hybrid technology. In the latter, which is a medium AWD SUV, it performs 22 mpg city and 28 highway (as you can see on this site: fueleconomy dot gov). On the Jeep, we can speculate, the highway number will be lowered by the higher drag, but the city number will be higher thanks to the electric motor. The combined mpg will be closer to 25.

+Tiki Games They got OK mileage. But if the 4 cylinder lives up to it's rating then it would be amazing. Around 25 mpg. The upcoming V6 Diesel would be my preferred though.

Handy when going through thick bush, protect the windshield from branches. Also hunters like them. I have lowed it on occasion to eliminate glare on videos.

Its not that expensive car, most of the people should be able to buy it if they do savings for few months...considering the avg monthly income of an american which 5000 dollars, so save 2000 dollars every month, and in just 20 months you can this vehicle, ofcourse you can take credit and EMI and loans. So its not an expensive car at all for those who want to buy it and really want it!!

The new Wrangler makes the Cherokee pretty much obsolete. Before this one, you could make a case for a Cherokee based on better ride quality, interior amenities, etc., which made up for its lesser off-road abilities. This Wrangler closes the gaps in daily commuter qualities so much that it's almost a no-brainer, with its massively better ruggedness and off-road cred. Really, if your main priority is on-road manners, you might as well go Honda or Toyota. Add in the Wrangler's stellar resale value, and I've decided. Well done, Jeep!

FIAT is the lowest rated reliability rating of ALL vehicles currently on the road. Has been since it returned to the American market and before they were booted out in 1982 the worst then as well. What alien magazines have you been reading???

The dealer I bought mine from in SoCal charged about 900 dealer prep/destination in 2015. I think a lot of those fess are dealer specific.

Like a lot of stuff that i like but also a lot that I dont like. I think the listened to the soccer mom and the mall crawlers more then the long time Wrangler owner. But I do understand that to try and Broadening there market is making more sense dollar wise. Most of what i call jeep guys have many years owning a jeep. Like myself i had CJ. YJ. TJ and now a JKU but still have my TJ. Now for us touch screen that give me the angle of the hill tells me that its in 4wd is really not important at all. Still having a minivan engine and downgrading to a 2.0L that is what s annoying just saying that it shouldn't be generalize that everyone is happy with the JL direction. A lot of jeep club members across the country think that way so they didn't listen they listen to where they could make the most Money. Lets not make an engine that could give more bottom end torque but still be efficient lets just throw in a bunch of visually pleasing gadgets and tweak the suspension. The body Lines are nice Wrangler needed that although those tail ligh sticking out be ok for the road but off-road not sure. The rear wiper will be a pain in winter but other then that really nice extrior. Aside from all the gadgets the interior looks really good and the ergonomic much better so its not all bad. For me if they made a plain Rubicon and i mean no electronic gadgets just radio ac and gauge set crank window just the power train package you'd pull from the long time off road Jeep guys. I'd go look at one for sure. Just my take on it

Jeep vehicles consistently rank near the bottom of reliability surveys. A 2 door model or a Renegade would be the ideal size for me. Can't get past the reliability problem. I'll move on.

How elitist. I'ma retired oceanographic surveyor who spends most of my free tome off road. I know what is important when one is 100 miles from the nearest paved road. Is the wrangler a good commuter? No, but it is the most capable off road vehicle on the market today.

Couldn't agree less. 4 doors are way more practical if your Jeep is pulling double duty (offroad shenanigans and family duty). Yeah the 2 door looks more traditional but the 4 door is fine, especially with the doors removed.
