The new design is plain but growing on me. These smaller trucks ( ridgline, ranger, calorado) are the way to go. Most of us me included buy big trucks that eat the grass and never get used for anything. These little trucks ride great pull hall with good gass and yeh the last for ever....

My 2018 Ridgeline is my first non-truck "truck." After driving it for about a year, I realize now that I should have bought a G1 Ridgeline instead of a traditional body-on-frame Nissan Frontier truck last time.

I like the side profile of the Ridgeline but not the front fascia. Its too much Pilot-esque for me. A 2" lift on the Ridgeline makes it look a whole lot better. Its an okay looking truck. But that beat at the end of the video. Whoo!!

Is that spare tire usable with the larger tires on the truck? AWD usually requires all tires have the same circumference. With that said, how big of a tire can the spare compartment hold?

Yes, you can use the donut with the larger tires. I had the same concern and asked about it. That donut is the only size you can fit in there in the spare compartment. That space isn't as big as the older model

No truck manufacturer makes an OEM lift kit it’s all aftermarket installed by the dealership. The only difference is they will warranty it like OEM because they’ve modified the truck and sold it that way. If you do it after you purchase it they no longer have to cover the suspension because it’s no longer OEM Honda parts. Will save you about 6k dealer add ons doing the lift and tires yourself.

Doua Yang JSport is the lift kit manufacture, google it. You can buy direct. JSport is owned by a Honda Dealer. It’s a great product.

I'll keep my cherry 2008 with 113,000 miles. This second generations horrible look just can't be improved with after market items.Get with it Honda and make the third generation worth looking at.

Torque vectoring awd is actually more capable than 4x4 with open diffs, so I think you're confused. The only thing this truck needs is a transmission cooler fan routed to a cabin switch or an atf fluid thermostat. Rock crawling in first (no 4WD Low) means your torque converter is going to heat the oil pretty quick. I also wouldn't recommend any new truck to go bogging in, period. Buy a cheap 90s 4X4 and drop another few grand on a lift and lockers, maybe a roll bar.

I agree. I drove 4x4s for 25 years but I wish I switched to modern AWD systems earlier. There is literally no need for 4WD Low. The button on the console puts the vehicle in a mode that works even better than that clumsy 4WD Low ever could. When it comes to the powertrain, however, my only real gripe is the lack of selectable gears. You can only choose Drive, fifth, or second gear and that's it. There's a traditional "overdrive" button to switch to fifth, and an "L" shift position to switch to what I can only guess is second gear. The manual doesn't really say.

why would you want to butcher a ridgeline. if you want a lift kit and mud tires go buy a Toyota. if you want refined class with a nice ride buy a ridgeline.

I wish Honda would come out with a bigger and beefier truck. Nissan has one and Toyota. But Honda has this weak little truck. I understand Honda doesn’t believe in 8 cylinders and is going away from the 6 but we over here in America want power and big lol.

They’re not going away from 6 cylinders. 4 and 6 is all they want or need for their market. The Honda Ridgeline is in its own class and they sell a good bit of those trucks. Yea this isn’t your tow monster and yea this isn’t your off road king. However it rides better than any truck on the market and has great fuel economy, also has a nice easy access to the bed. A lot of older folks are enjoying these trucks. In 2020 they are talking about coming out with a turbo Ridgeline over 400hp that will be nice to see. Also that will be a turbo v6.

There is a market for mid-size. They are capable, but manageable size that will allow you to have a place to park downtown. I wanted a mid-size truck and if you actually sit in this it is pretty big. The interior feels close to a full size, and is bigger than a Tacoma, Canyon, Colorado, and Frontier.
