2018 Ram 6.7 cummins loosing coolant

Ram 6.7 losing coolant and don't know where it's going to.. or over heating.. no codes.. EGR fail.. Coolant pressure is greater than exhaust pressure so coolant is going to exhaust side. This is happening inside EGR cooler and can't be seen. Has to be removed and tested.

I think you may have saved me buddy. I appreciate it. Truck is slightly overheating and then purging coolant from the res. Then returns back to normal operation temp.

Olle amigo disculpa la pregunta esque tengo una 2016 ram 2500 loque ase es que el bolamte se muebe mucho ya e canbeado todo i sigue igual quisas tu sepas algo que me puedas conpartir porque lla e cambiado una multitud de partes i no queda si sabes algo puedas ayudar

Yes sir I have the same problem!!😂🤣 I'm losing 1/2 gallon every 40 miles. Had to make it home so I put about 10 gallons in it. Lol hopefully just egr cooler. I did clean it about 500 miles ago. Sucks that I didn't do pressure test 😕 Now all the coolant goes to turbo radiator. Lol thank's for posting videos on 2018 Ram 3500 6.7

I have Exhaust Filter 100% full and P0402 exhaust gas recirculation. Dealer replace EGR VALVE and Egr bypass but still I have same problem.

Yo tengo ese problema tengo una 2018 dodge ram 3500 6.7 y me gasta mucho coolant ..pero no encuentro ningún likeo por ningún lado...es posible que sea el egr cooler ???

my truck had a leak not noticeable in the egr truck was overheating and asking for coolant had to get it dealer wen i took it to the dealer they had said i needed a new engine that was false i just got it deleted and everything worked well my truck is a 2019 dodge 2500

buenas dias Carlos gracias por todos tus videos e informacion necesito de tu ayuda tengo una 2105 6.7 Powerstroke dually mi situación p0087 low rail pressure y reduce engine power con ayuda de ustedes youtuber me informe del problema grande que tiene este sistema con la pump CP4 Y EL CONTAMINATION KIT. es primera ves que trabajo en diesel un respeto muy grande a los que trabajan en diesel. Un promedio de 150 a 200 millas me hace el problema, tengo una historia muy larga donde lleve la camioneta a un diesel shop, la ago corta ahora tengo el mis problema en la camioneta menos 3000.00 bueno !!!! la camioneta todavía arrancaba y andaba cuando empece a trabajar en ella, bueno desarme e inspeccione el fuel control solenoide de la high pressure pump estaba limpio no encontré nada de metal pero le puse nuevo, también cambie el sensor y regulador de el rail izquierdo (conductor) y el Fuel Pressure sensor que va en una line para high pressure pump intente la forma típica de sacar el aire del sistema prendiendo el switch varias veces desconecte la linea de salida del filtro el que va arriba hasta que no saliera aire NO PRENDE

Que códigos le da orita... Si tienes un scanner con que puedas mira el sistema de datos... Y ponerle atención al sistema de alta presión.. el sensor que va en la pompa alta.. eses si lo reviso bien por contaminación... El senor del el rail no necesariamente sale contaminado.. cuando uste dise que esta pulgando... Cuándo le da marcha...le sigue saliendo aire... Ya después de que usted revisa bien que no tiene aire.. si le sigue dando marcha y la vuelve a revisar.. va a tener un problema de aire está jalando aire el systema.. y varios problemas están en el filtro de abajo y en el de ariva..(y si su systema estaba contaminado) y la llevó a un taller mecánico... yo estoy seguro que no cambiaron y no limpiaron todo el sistema completo cómo deberían.. por qué si no se ase bien el trabajo... Vuelve a pasar lo mismo.. y por 3mil está muy barato un trabajo de esos anda ariva de 7-9mil... La agencia anda como 12mil

Muchas gracias por contestar y por su información valiosisima yo tengo el aparato solo para ver los códigos y borrarlos yo era mecanico de gasolina y tenia temor de trabajar en diesel, mire lo que paso en el taller el mecanico el me comentó de todas esas reparaciones muy costosas pero el iba a revisarla, me dijo que iba a revisar sensor por sensor y la presión del sistema, se la deje, 5 dias después me llama que la camioneta esta lista me informo que cambio la pump que va abajo, el sensor del riel que va enfrente, la válvula reguladora del riel que va atrás y el sensor que va en la linea que va a high pressure pump Bueno le pague 20 millas después me dejo tirado le llame para informarle le borre el código y la regrese para que la revisara me dijo que uno de los sensores estaba malo y que me lo iba a cambiar, me la regreso, pero cada 150 a 200 millas tengo el mismo problema voy a acortar la historia y disculpe por escuchar esta historia yo empecé a Trabajar el la truca me di cuenta que nunca me cambio los sensores por eran los originales (el shop utiliza aftermarket parts) Primero revise si el sensor que va arriba del high pressure pump tuviera contaminación (metales de la pump) estaba super limpio Compre todos los sensor que tiene el sistema que va arriba de la high pressure pump los 2 sensor que van el el riel y el sensor que va en la line para la pump y el la valvula la de control que va arriba de la pump la que revise y estaba libre de contaminación Empece a purgar de la salida del filtro que va arriba (outlet) y luego la forma típica cuando cambias los filtro con el switch bastante veces i no prende Otra pregunta disculpe El sistema de presión alta se purga distinto si le entra aire a las lines ??

Carlos saludos hermano. Tengo un problema con mi camioneta 2018 ram 6.7 me está botando el cooler por que reservoir la acabo de reparar las cabezas pero no dan con la falla no saben por que está tirando el agua por el reservoir

I have a 2018 2500 Cummins and at 40k miles the low coolant light came on and the reservoir was almost empty, took it to the dealer and they did a pressure test and it held pressure and they topped off the reservoir , a few days later I noticed it was slowing loosing coolant again. does that mean the egr is good/not good or did the pressure test not go through the egr

I have a 2014 6.7 Cummins that overheats only when I’m towing, any advice, I replaced the thermostat and checked to see if the water pump was loosing coolant and it’s good

My 2019 ram is going through coolant can’t find a leak. I can fill it go a few miles and light is back on. Let cool down open cap and it fills its self back up. If I let it run with cap off once gets up to 195 it will drain fill tank i can fill it but after a few miles it’s low again.

Any steam coming out the end.. well first you have to pull the egr out and test it... Or pull it off in the morning when cold...see if you have moisture.. white smoke

I pulled the back pressure sensor it was really wet. Is the egr cooler the only way for it to be wet? Or could it also be a head gasket?

Next step is pull off the egr cooler to test it...unless you got the truck hot...your looking at a head gasket. You can also by pass the EGR coolant lines... Put them together and take them off the EGR cooler...if no more coolant loss... It's your EGR cooler

That's correct... As long as you didn't over heat the engine... Then blow head gasket...

@@BackyardDieselz Nope, never overheated. Just started to notice a coolant smell at shutdown. Pulled the EGR air transfer tube and it was try so I thought I was good on the cooler. I'll get one on order, thanks!

What would happened if you had a egr cooler gasket go bad?

You would have an exhaust leak.. it's rare for them to leak unless not installed correctly..

@@BackyardDieselz I sprayed soap and water on the section and you can see it bubbling, will this cause the truck to loose boost?

Yes depending on how much... Can you see an exhaust leak (black soot) because all exhaust manifolds bubble because of the heat

@@BackyardDieselz I don’t see any black soot, I’ve cleaned my dpf system, swapped out turbo, switched out the exhaust pressure sensor my truck has about 60-70% boost it’s a Cummins 2008 6.7 still not full boost I tightened down the boots too on the turbo and on the radiator. When you turn the exhaust break on getting off the freeway it squeals. All filters have been changed.
