1) rotate CCW to remove preload entirely
2) rotate CW in 1/4 or 1/2 increments
3) rev car to build boost and study if the idle dips when returning
4) repeat step 2-3 until idle doesn't dip when returning from boost

just installed mine, works great! I kept the oem gasket on, and the gasket ring om the GFB. Just in case i have to leave it in for service :D

I have a 2016 sti with a gfb bov, and it backfires like crazy when I let off the gas, just wondering if it could be because of the bov or if it just has a bad tune. I've only owned it for 2 weeks and I don't know crap about these cars.

So many ?s I’m so curious what to do next wanted a bov I’m stock just have a cold air intake catch can removed stock exhaust Cobb tuner don’t know if I should or not want that sound but don’t want any problems only 10k on it

Hi I see that when you rev it it lets boost release in higher rpm, mine it lets boost at like 3500 rpm is it that I have it too soft??

So.. soft spring have compressor surge and boost leaks? And hard have better boost ?

Hey! I just installed mine on my wrx and when I was revving idle didnt dip but as I went out for a test drive engine would stutter and even stall coming to a stop, how should I re adjust this issue, I’m bone stock btw just with an intake

Intake manifold? If so you need a tune with that man

Hey Ryan I just installed my Gfb on my 2018 sti and had a question . When im driving then put it in neutral it kind of flutters at 1k-1.3k rpm then goes to idle. It never dips under idle . Did i turn it clockwise too much

It could be, I would reset to 0 and try adjusting it in using smaller increments. Like 1/4 turns at a time until you get it right

What is your peak boost in S# mode? With stock bov i was hitting 19.X. Now with gfb bov im getting 15.7psi (rev no dip) if i want higher peak boost i have to turn the screw 1 turn to get 17.8psi. (This is at 50/50 setting) let me know if we have somthing similar peak psi boost. On a 19 sti.

don't pay attention to peak boost, holding boost while actually at WOT is all that matters

I'm a 2017 catless tbe, cobb big sf intake. Protuned for 20.5 psi. Stock everything else.im also curious if this affects boost pressure. Like peak boost. Or what setting does it not affect tune. Itd should be the same answer with stock.

Stock. Make sure you turn you big collar by hand to open up the valve

frieddayfriday i went to a muffler delete, sometimes the exhaust will pop a little on high loads after venting but it sounds badass. Car runs great, no issues

you think the hks sqv4 would also be fine whithout a tune? since that bov is always at 100% vta all the time. i really like the piercing sound of the hks but having 2nd thoughts about it coz it's not adjustable. i dont want to get a tune yet coz i want to go straight to stage 3+ but right now i just want that sweet sounding blow off valve.

frieddayfriday you cant really tune for the bov unless you go speed density but the car will only go slightly rich between shifts no load. Tbh it sounds like this BOV isnt as loud as some others so even at 100% open it may be letting less air out than other setups Ive seen which is why I dont have any issues You can try the hks but its a gamble, ive had this on the car since the video has been put up and zero issues

Pogs yes. The car runs rich maybe 12:1 for but a fraction of a second between shifts under zero load. Trust the engineers of the product, not the online naysayers.

@@raiderv70741510 yes, sometimes I switch it back from 100 to 0. You have more fun with it set to 100% because - noise - but you can tell the car is "smoother" between shifts at 0% It's nice to have the adjust ability so based on what mood you're in you can just pop the hood and use your hand to turn the collar to adjust it I've had it on 100% for about 90% of the 10k miles I put on since this video, and I wont be getting rid of it
