Installing the GFB Respons BOV on my 2016 Subaru WRX Premium
Just one month after installing a GFB hybrid dual port BOV which worked amazingly well, I upgrade to the world famous GFB Respons BOV. In this video, I work with Osmans Racing and Sydney Performance Parts to bring you the differences between a regular dual port BOV and GFB's fully adjustable BOV using their world class patented technology. Its the only one on the market with this kind of flexibility and really is the only BOV you need for your turbo sports car.

@kimuranaito1493 idk much about turbo diesels but it should be the same architecture as petrol deisel. If you can find a BOV for your car it'll go psh psh

Just wanted to ask about the bov and get an update since you've had it on for a minute now. No CEL from it running to rich? No problems? I wanna get the exact one for my wrx soon. Great videos man!👊🏾

Hey mate, thanks for watching :) Yeah its been running fine without any problems, no CEL, it only runs rich for maybe a split second - gotta make sure you dial the spring load all the way in. I have this on my 2020 Sti but the previous owner had it set to 100% vent to atmos. Will dial it back to 80 recirc and 20 vent to atmos. Was thinking I might just put the bypass valve back on I'm just concerned with the whole glazing the cylinders thing over time.

@@McPerferct you can just set it to 100% recirc and it'll be completely fine mate. I keep mine on full recirc most the time, unless I'm filming a video

@@nes3382 On full recirc, you wont hear anything with stock intake. You need some level of venting to hear the psh psh.

@MrDuongTV1 Hey mate. If I'm on full recirculation does the spring load matter at this stage? Cos if the spring load is set to tight wouldn't it require high boost to open and allow air to recirculate? Should the tension on the spring be loose on full recirculating to allow the air to get out and recirculate or does it recirculate regardless of the spring tension? Thanks in advance 🤙🙏🙌

Great question mate. Everything you said is 100%, in theory anyway. I have mine on full recirc 100% of the time now, and I haven't had to change the spring preload. No issues.

i have the gfb but i had to put it i think 30/70 because i was getting check engine light i can barely hear it with my settings any recommendation? subaru wrx 2015

Hey mate thanks for watching. Did you dial the spring load all the way in? Its plenty loud for me with my venting set to 30% The car will stumble if you dont dial in the spring load high enough, and cause that CEL

Hey mate. Its a bit of hit and miss. All the internet warriors will tell you that you have to. I've spoken to a few tuners and mechanics, they said it doesn't really matter. I didnt get mine tuned after putting this on, but when I went to get it tuned after fitting the down pipe, i asked the tuner about the BOV he said it doesnt really make a difference.

My 2013 wrx had the same BOV when I bought it. It was almost wanting to stall out sometimes when I would stop at a stop sign, maybe I need to adjust the spring? Thanks for the info!

Yup, dial the springload all the way in and make sure all your hose clamps are tight. It may also want to stall if you're on 60%+ venting. Thanks fkr watching mate!

Mine came with a gfb, but I don’t understand why you’d want that untuned, the oem bpv is good to 19, and the gfb doesn’t sound any different unless you open the bov, which isn’t good for the engine

Whole bunch of myths mate. Some mechanics and engineers say need a tune, some don't. Believe who you wanna believe after doing some research 🙂

Brother what, 90% front mount kits come with only a blow off no recirc also. I’m running 26 psi and the stock recirc is shit. Leaks boost being plastic, proper pro tune not just off shelf and a blow off can be 100% healthy
