AWD buttons doesn't mean AWD is selectable. Its usually to lock AWD below a certain speed, otherwise the car will send power where it needs it on its own. Very few cars are actually AWD all the time. Most are FWD and send power to the rear when slip is detected.

The AWD button was new for this generation Enclave/Traverse, Acadia. They default to fwd to help with fuel economy rating. They also say makes the awd system more responsive once selected because the system knows you think it will be needed. And yes, GM should give Buick a version of the Tahoe/Suburban, to keep the En- nomenclature, it could be called the Engorged to make fun of itself. But it seriously does need one since Buick has gone all crossover.

Buick could revive the Roadmaster name. It would make sense since the Roadmaster is usually their biggest car and the full-size platform is kind of the king of the road. On the other hand, whenever GM badge-engineers too many variants they all suffer. See the mid 00s minivan GM sold under many different brands and names.

@@bwofficial1776I agree, when they spread the platform too thin they all suffer. I had one of those minivans and the only car I've hated more was the Cavalier. (Though to be fair we were coming from a Park Avenue, and pretty much any Chevy would've been a disappointment.)

@@bwofficial1776 while Roadmaster would make sense, it doesn't follow their En- nomenclature. If they do it right, none would suffer. Just give it the modern Buick style, Cadillac features, splitting the price between the Yukon and Esclade at each level.

U.S. market Buick doesn’t have a strong identity as it still exists solely because of of the Chinese market. Any U.S. product is a check-the-boxes afterthought.

That's due to the Chinese ranking Buick well above Cadillac in terms of luxury. Goes back to the last Emperor of China importing a Buick as soon as he became old enough to drive.

Just picked up a 2019 essence trim. So far so good. Moving from a real turd to the enclave is a major upgrade for me. I like it . I own all GM vehicles so I know it will fail at some point. But I won't be surprised.

Great video. I had a 2010 Buick Enclave Gold edition it had all the features . Also there was a original window sticker from 2010 which priced that SUV at 63.000$

fun fact actually, the fuel economy went down with the 9 speed, the transmission was a joint effort between GM and Ford but once ford realized that it was pretty much worse then anything they developed in the past (besides the DPS6 but thats not saying much) they rushed out an in house 8 speed and GM was kinda stuck with a "very-middle-of-the-road-semi-subpar" 9 speed that does worse in economy testing then their old 6 speeds

wow led lights in the interior. Most manufacturers put just regular dim lights in the interior and even the rear license plate lights program to reduce costs. You can replace them with LED lights

Interesting that this 2019 has the old U.I. for the DIC and infotainment screens. My 2018.5 TourX has the newer Android based infotainment screen and updated DIC.

Looks decent for a nicer Traverse. The problem I have with GM is that they use the same materials in everything. You can option up a Traverse with the same leather and the same plastics. The only real difference is the styling and a few thousand dollars more. I want Buick to survive but I don't really see what the point is any more. At least GM puts a little more effort into the badge engineering than Ford did with Mercury towards the end.

TBH, I've forgotten that the Enclave still exists. Probably because GM hasn't redesigned it like the Traverse.

Meh, a mediocre suv with no redeeming features. All the current Caddilac suvs and cars should really be for Buick and maybe olds. Caddie should super exclusive and on he level of Bentley and rolls Royce. Heat review bc as ever.
