This video is how to install lowering shackles on a 2019 GMC Sierra. This is the same process for the 2019-2020 GM and GMC 1500 Music From NCS (No Copyright Sounds) Steve Hartz- Never get old (NCS Release) / tracks

Any adverse effects from this? Vibrations etc? Also have you hauled or towed heavy since?
@DaveMedicus4 жыл бұрын
No vibrations or anything like that. The truck actually handles much better now. It’s more responsive. Towing you do have the normal sag in the rear end. As with all lowered trucks ya may have to flip your hitch around to raise to vs lowering it. Still tows great. Did an alignment right after this was done and 2 months later alignment is still exactly where they set it.

is there any tire rub or any other issue when you guys dropped the truck? Tires/rims kept stock?
@DaveMedicus4 жыл бұрын
gsy971 zero issue with rubbing. It actually drives better. If you tow heavy you will still get the normal drop since the suspension is still the same just lowered. Thanks for watching.

so if understand this, the rear sits higher from factory because if you put a load in the bed the rear will then lower due to weight. so what is the reason for leveling the rear to the front? I see everyone doing this. In your vid you lower both front and rear so even if you put a load in the bed the truck will then level out right?
@DaveMedicus4 жыл бұрын
gsy971 we only lowered the rear. The reason for lowering the back of the truck is for looks. When you look at the factory truck the rear sits really high compared to the front. It doesn’t look good. On top of that when under hard braking the truck front end tends to dive down when the rear lifts up. This is not the best braking situation for a normal truck. With the rear lowered we lowered the center of gravity and practically eliminated the from end diving and it is more responsive driving. For normal driving it’s a massive improvement over stock. If you are going to tow heavy you may need to do some modification to the suspension to handle more weight without sagging like install airbags to handle more weight.

What do i do if i follow all the steps but when i took out the lower bolts the leaf spring just popped up against the bed and i cant seem to get the leaf to get to line up with the bottom bolt hole in the shackle because its super hard?Do you have any suggestions? Its almost like the leaf springs are under tension
@DaveMedicus3 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you have the truck lifted by the axle and not the frame. If not lower the axle to remove the tension.

Did you had to use any shims for vibrating around 25-30mph?

Nope it was perfect. Thanks for watching!

How's the ride quality after? Was it worth it?
@DaveMedicus3 жыл бұрын
It made it so much better. It turns so much tighter now without the body roll. I was really impressed with how much better it felt to drive and be a passenger in.

Can you 2inch drop the Rear of the AT4 ?
@DaveMedicus3 жыл бұрын
Yes
@lamboman75443 жыл бұрын
would a 2 inch drop been to much?
@DaveMedicus3 жыл бұрын
it would probably make your back end squat down a little if you dont do anything to the front. This was a perfect combination for this specific truck. The drivability increased to a much more sport response feel. Thanks for watching.

Do you have to do an alignment after you install the shackles.
@DaveMedicus3 жыл бұрын
D L T AUTO DETAIL I did but nothing really needed changed. It was just a good check since the suspension was changed. It doesn’t hurt.

@@frankwalker9078 I don’t know why it was painful. You are watching a how to video on something you either know or don’t know. Did you not learn anything? It wasn’t my vehicle so I didn’t have a say as to what parts he bought. It was a brand new truck so product lines had not updated correctly to reflect the change in vehicles. The Amazon kit was actually more expensive than the local rough country kit just to educate you a little bit. Check your ego at the door.
