You know the Google Home and related devices like the back of your hand. Google should be paying you to make videos explaining the functions to their users and link to them within the app or on a dedicated KZfaq account or something. You are totally expert level with all of this.

moving stream to other devices in the only thing Google has got right i wish Alexa would get this feature i tried moving video from my GHH to my gen 2 CC like 6 weeks ago and it worked but then i tried to move it from my GHH to my xiaomi mi box 3 with CC built in and it didn't work i wonder if it will let you do it now after this update

9:13 another thing really hate is that i can not tell GA on my phone to "call home" when i am driving and using android auto if i am not using android auto i can say "ok Google,call home" or "ok google make a video call to my home" and it will make a duo call to my GHH but if i am in the car i have it set to auto start android auto when paired to the cars bluetooth and GA acts liek it doesn't know what i am talking about if i use the same commands like "call home" or "make video call to my home" i can only ask it to dial my land line(VOIP) from contacts , this is really stupid ,GA should work the same weather android auto is running or not but it doesn't

All I wanted to do is screen mirror my phone to my TV. You passed over the steps necessary starting somewhere in the middle and then showed the final steps. All you did was prove that YOU know how to access the feature. I ended up not knowing how to screen mirror!

I just had a few concerns with the Deebot Ozmo because some videos have showed that it does not return to the dock successfully, and I was looking at a model, Deebot Ozmo 920 but there hasn't been a lot of reviews on it so I was going back and forth between these 2 robots ; as I didn't want to lose a great amount of money to something that might not function well

Yes this should work but depending on the device it might have limited functionality.

Have you tried turning on sync? That was a problem with my Google assistant not saving reminders only on one device but not the other.

Another great video Sir, quick question. How do you sync up lights and things. I recently moved and installed my lights in the new house and renamed them, but my house thinks it has double the amount of lights. For instance I only have two lights in the bedroom but it used to reply turning off four lights and that's the same for all rooms in my house. Thanks man for your videos.

I have been seeing this as well lately. Are you using SmartThings? You may need to Unlink the service and try again. Also use the "Sync my devices" command to make sure the app is showing the latest info.

Always enjoy your videos. What is the story of Google and TP-Link bulbs and plugs. I can't get my Google Home to link to any TP-Link devices. I've reset every TP-Link device and everything is connected to my home WiFi network. The TP-link app works great but I want to say "turn on the light" not go to my smartphone and tap a button. Thanks for very informative videos.

I wish Google let you have sperate light groups in a room. I have fairy lights around my room, but I also have smart lights for when I need regular lighting, and I'd prefer to select which light group I'd wish to turn on when I select the "on" button without needing to go and turn on the fairy lights individually.

GHome app icons need to be more interactive, like those blue toggle switches or lights... they should move the blue part to on if that switch is on or the light bulbs should appear on/off rather than having to click on the switch or lightbulb to see on the next screen if it’s on/off Google needs to get rid of this shopping list nonsense and reintegrate “Keep Notes” Shouldn’t the sirusxm show in the offer section? Has anyone else noticed “assistant” at the top of the “add services” list where you said you add your hub? Interesting how when you played music, it selects google music as default even though you have YT music chosen for your default

Hi Brett great job as always. Maybe you can help me understand why my google home screens sometimes look different from yours. This is not the first time I have noticed that. For example, at 5:28 in your video, I still have the old media play button instead of the new equalizer icon. I also don't have the call home and camera buttons (I do have a wyze cam linked). The media functionality is there, but the icon is different. The first time I saw you doing a video, I had trouble following you because the interface looked so different. The play store says I am running the most recent version (Current Version 2.15.1.22). I am using a motorola e5 play running the current patch level of android 8.

Hey there, same here with equalizer but I found it. You have to have something playing and then it will show you the equalizer icon. From Media to Equalizer. And yes am also have problem finding some of the icon as for example the Call mobile.. but then I found out that it all depends where you live.. I live in Mexico so that update still hasn't hit over here.

Hey Brett, as response to your information at time 12:30. The routines function first only launched in the USA.. and the plans back then were to slowly roll it out around the world. But unfortunately it has gone quiet since. I live in the Netherlands and am not able to have any routines buttons in the app it is just not there. But i found a work around for this i changed my devices settings to English US.. then after about 24h waiting (it takes some time, i don't know why) the routines start to show up and i am able to set routines up and ask my google home to start a routine. If people are annoyed by having there whole phone in English they can consider just setting an old tablet or phone up in English to be able to set up the routines. Or after creating all there favorite routines to change the language back, as you can still ask the assistants on any device to activate those routines. Do i make any sence?. Hope u can spread this pro tip!. 😃 Thanks as always!.

Hey Brett great stuff as always but I have one question with this have you tried the Google G Suite with the Google Home services? I ask this because I originally got a G Suite for my business however saw the potential for using it for the family. Its been great however as Google puts out more products like this the integration with G Suite has been terrible. I also thought well I guess its time to move my stuff to a general email account however G Suite would allow me to move all I had purchased on my G Suite to a normal gmail account and thus my struggle begins. So wondering if you have any knowledge in how G Suite could integrate and what problems you might find?

This is a really great question I myself do use a G Suite email but not as my main one and not for my smart home. Some of the main issues I have heard is that there is no option for Calendar sync. I did read that this is coming soon. I might need to spends some more time on learning about what does and doesn't work. Did you say you can't migrate off a G Suite to a regular Gmail?

@@TechWithBrett Yes I contacted Google to try to migrate all my digital purchases to a regular account and they said they could not do it. It was my first attempt to migrate to a regular account to try to enjoy the Google Home environment.

Brett, since you are a smart man, I was wondering if you have had any experience with an issue where a child account can not access routines? My son, who is 11, was able to set up a bedtime routine on his mini through the home app. I recently added a smart bulb to his room and wanted to add the light settings into his bedtime routine. He is now unable to access routines from his tablet and I cannot access the routine for his account. I have tried a factory reset on his tablet, updated to the most recent version of the home app. Still no access. Any thoughts? I already spoke to google support and they had no idea.

I tried asking my Google home how to change its voice it said to go to assistant settings and in the assistant tab and that is should be there but it wasn't. And have the preference settings moved somewhere? I live in Europe.

How do I get all my devices to show up I have 4 google homes or minis or display and when I go to my devices in media they show none, is this because I am not connected to my home wifi but my work's ? Shouldnt this show up regardless ?

Tech With Brett is there any way to make it safer ? I get nervous when I have to reset my wifi for example and when you go into search wifi I can see my speakers in the list with no security until the full wifi reset is complete then the speakers in the list disappear as they should.

I set up my Chromecast last night and I gave it a nickname. Is there a way to set nicknames to your other Google devices? Like my Pixel 3xl and Chromebook Slate?

Yes. On the Pixel in the Settings under About you can change the device name and it should be the somewhere on the settings on the Chromebook.

I of course would say Note 10 as I have never used an iPhone but you may have specific needs that an iPhone meets. My Note10+ does everything I needed it to do and more.

As of right now I have the same thoughts as in the video. I use my Nest Hub Max to control it and always have the Link Bar on mute because it was a hassle. I also have an issue where every time we turn it on it goes to the wrong input. If any of this changes or is fixed I certainly will.

I wonder when they will allow the home hub to control all lights and switches on the system. I have lights hooked to basic WiFi on off switches and I can’t do a damn thing with them via hub... which is totally stupid. They should make the hub work similar to the app where you can control each individual switch.

Yeah I wish the Nest Hub had the option to control each light in a room by touch. Are you saying you also can't turn any of them off using the hub? What lights are they? If they are showing in the Google Home app you should be able to, you might try changing the name to say lights.

I chose YT music as my default, but every time I play music, it alway plays from google music & not YT music. Is there a way I can make it play from YT music? I would rather invest into a service that will be the future instead of google music which is slated to be extinct at some point. Thanks

About the routines not showing up: I have a Brazilian account and use my assistant devices in English. But if I use the Home in English, the routines options won’t appear even on settings screen, it will be replace with “My Day” option, which is quite limited. To see the routines, the Home app must be using Portuguese language. Makes no sense to me :P

Ive looked for ages and I can't find it. My housemate have me his google home mini and he factory reset it. However it did unlink his account. I just want to be able to unlink his account from it but it keeps telling me that he has to give me permission to join his house. So do I have to get his permission?

I believe this one you do need to download but it might be a default app now.

Can you do a video on what's going on with Google pay. It just stopped working out of the blue and no amount of resets or uninstall/reinstall has helped

@@TechWithBrett I'm using the Pixel 3XL. Not entirely sure when it started but for the past week it has not been working. Even after I deleted and reinstalled everything. I can't even add my card to the app anymore

@@TechWithBrett according to Google it is a known issue with the version 10 update and they are working the issue. At least that's what I was told as of 11 Nov. Thanks for the help in guiding me in the right direction.

Why does my app only show the basic 4 such as setting, broadcast, media and home calling and also on my nest hub it only shows me my one room display with nothing else

It all depends on what devices you have linked to your Google Home. Do you currently have any smart lights or Nest cameras or Thermostats and they are not showing up? Or you are items missing. If you have an devices to add make sure you select the + at the top left and select Set up device to add them.

Can someone please offer me some support?! I own the pixel 3, the Google home mini, Google home Max, Google clock. And everyday I come home the app can't find the devices. And everyday I have to manually reset the devices to be able to connect the devices to the app. I keep the phone app up to date. I have 50 gb download and 10 gb upload WiFi connection. I don't understand. I own a number of Google products and they do not work seamlessly as advertised. Is anyone else having this similar issue on a regular basis? Is there a reason or a resolution?! I look forward to responses.
