2019 Honda CB650R A2 35kW restricted model. Here is the top speed and GPS top speed. It might be able to go a bit faster than this, but I had to let go of the throttle because of another car. After that 178 km/h was the max to reach. Before that a split second 179 km/h.

I did 193kmh on my A2 once but most of the time it goes up to 175-180 like you. I think rider position and wind are big factors. Only 6 months left before full, can't wait.

193 is indeed under ideal circumstances. I was unable to do that. :) 6 more months.. after that you can enjoy more torque and more hp. :)

Ja zo denk ik er ook over. Neo Sports Cafe design is erg mooi. CB125R en CB300R zien er ook leuk uit. Maar deze CB650R is toch wel even een serieuzere keus dan de CB300R. Kost ook wat meer. Ik wil 'm nog wel eens vol vermogen rijden, want de raket bij 7.000 tpm blijft op de grond staan met de begrenzing. :)

My svartpilen 401 hits 170kmh with 1 zylinder, 44hp and 150kg very interessting i think weight is a big point. Your Sound is very nice 😍👍🏻

The KTM engine in your Husqvarna is built for performance. This CB650R is just restricted. :) But your top speed is impressive. I had a 650cc air cooled single cylinder which was able to go about the same speed. Maybe a little bit faster but not much.

The Netherlands. But what you see will soon be history. Due to a enormous nitrogen crisis we have over here, the maximum speed during the daytime will be set back from 130 km/h (~81 mph) to 100 km/h (~62 mph). It will save up about 0,6% of nitrogen emission so we can start building homes again. But this was filmed in the evening, so then it would not change a bit. Almost everyone over here is speeding. 140-160 km/h (87-100 mph) is quite normal. You should see Germany on the parts on the freeway when there is no speed limit. Then again, California looks so much better. Lovely scenery. Over here just boring scenery.

Mine went 176 with the wind against me and 184 with the wind in the back. This speed is not the gps speed tho. Great bike cant wait to get full acces in 1.5 years😊

Heyyy, what was the wind blast like? I know you will definitely feel the wind but is it a clean blast or lots of buffeting? I understand if you dont remember well just looking around as this may be the next bike for me :D

Clean blast compared to bikes with an upright wind shield. :) But I'd recommend a small wind screen just to get some wind pressure from your body. The same as I have on my Kawasaki ER-6N. Something like that. (should be somewhere on my channel, PUIG screen, but other brands are also good).

Hey, ik wil volgend jaar deze motor kopen, waarschijnlijk de 2020 variant, tenzij er een 2021 variant dan al is. Ik heb gezocht en kwam niet echt uit waar je precies de 35kw versie kan kopen. Moet je zelf een restriction kit kopen en het er op laten zetten? Hoe heb jij dit gedaan? En hoe zit het met de keuring ervan bij de RDW? Alvast bedankt voor je antwoord!

Je kan 'm gewoon bij de Honda-dealer kopen. Ze zetten dan ook de kit er op en regelen de kentekenpapieren. En een vol vermogen CB650R kan ook terug naar 35kW. Kan de Honda-dealer doen. Misschien kunnen andere dealers buiten het dealerschap dit ook, maar de Honda-dealers hebben monteurs die zijn opgeleid voor dit model. Wil niet zeggen dat andere motorzaken het niet kunnen, maar die moeten misschien wat meer uitzoeken.

A2 mt 07 or cb650r, this seems like better quality, as the mt 07 is famous for rust. Would you say the power on this is enough and still fast enough to have some fun in the twisties, is acceleration good mid range, I’m coming up from a 125? The only reason why is why Im thinking mt 07 is because it’s cheaper and better acceleration but would the Honda still blow me away and could I have fun ?

I did not know the MT07 rusts that much! You can't compare a twin cylinder to a four cylinder. If you come from a 125, the Honda will blow you away. You only notice the difference in power between 35kW and full power on the freeway. Twin cylinder bikes have more torque (they pull faster to a certain speed), but overall the CB650R will be so much more powerful than your 125.

It looks like your CB650R is a restricted version (LAMS). Here in the Philippines, we have the full-powered version which is 40hp more with a top speed of 240kph. Same machine though. You can de-restrict it by changing your Air Funnel and add more 40hp on it.

Yes this is a restricted model for the A2 license in Europe (looks like LAMS, but it is somewhat different). I think the ECU also needs to be replaced.

@@MotoSnax Airflow is reduced by 86%, and the ECU is remapped so fuel injection matches the reduced airflow. Its a quick job to change it back to full power. I have my original air intakes and the dealership can remap it for me for free if I want to,

Do you live in Europe? Then you can remove the restriction after 2 years. I think it is not that much work to replace the parts, but if you don't have experiene, let a dealership do it for you. Perhaps it even must be done by the dealership because the paperwork also needs to be changed and that probably needs an approval stamp from the dealership.

I'm not sure, sorry. The license types differ from country to country. It should be 'One Europe', but in each country the rules are different. In our country you can skip A1 and start A2 at 20 years of age. But in the beginning this was impossible. Better call a riding school in the UK and ask them about how to obtain the A2 license without getting A1 first.

Nice! Will you try also the CBR650R (the sport version)? How much do you think the cbR650r can do? Can it hit 200 kmh with 48hp?

Unfortunately I won't ride that one. The importer hasn't got that one on 35kW. Maybe it can reach 200 km/h, but I think it will be more like 185-190km/h or so. It is still far away from the rev limiter. Maybe some videos will show up on KZfaq with the CBR650R A2 top speed, but not from me.

You have your right wrist to choose how fast it should pull. So a restricted 650cc should be no problem if you ask me.

Now you know. :) Maybe it was able to go faster but after going full throttle again I couldn't get it faster than what you saw. Still fast enough for A2. About the same as the Suzuki GSX-S750 35kW.

@@MotoSnax I'm in the US so wasn't familiar with restricting. They give us full reign on whatever we want right away, which to be honest is pretty dumb and scary. I got my first street bike a month ago- an old Rebel 250- so I'm just looking in to what to upgrade to in a year or so.

That is kinda scary! They should let every rider first start with a restricted bike like this CB650R. Still a lot faster than most cars and no insane power at top end. A Rebel 250 is nice.. people drive different in the USA. More relaxed... except for the bigger cities of course. I have seen a lot of the USA (visited 23 states over a time span of 11 years) and everytime I get back home I just hate the traffic over here in The Netherlands. Anyway, this CB650R is a nice upgrade from that Rebel 250.

@@MotoSnax I'm actually in Philadelphia, so the Rebel has plenty of speed for getting around the city, but it's struggles on our highways. I don't want a huge touring bike, but I'm thinking of something that can go for longer rides on the highway. In Europe, I've only been to Italy, around Rome, but if traffic in the Netherlands is anything like that, I would hate to ride in those cities haha. Thanks for the recommendation!

You can't put in sixth gear and expect to reach full speed. You need to take each gear up to 12,000 rpm. Mine has already reached 220 km/h and very quickly. I have seen in a video one cb650r reach 232 km/h

no way. i got a friend who has the same bike, all stock guaranteed. can go 215+ kmh top speed. maybe it's just because of the wind? winds can be a big difference on highways

Yes way! Like the title says, it is the A2 35kW model. This is a limited power model for starting riders in Europe between the age of around 18-24 yrs.

I think something in the intake has to be replaced and possibly another ECU. Dealerships do it over here. Honda does not want you to do it while the bike still has warranty.

The importer restricted it for me as I don't own it. I justed tested the bike for a week and asked them to fit the A2 parts. I am allowed to ride any bike but I want unique videos on my channel and a unique review on my website.

In Europe young riders can only get a restricted license. So this one has got 48 hp. After 2 years they can remove the restriction and it will have 95 hp max.

Over here in Europe they want the young riders to learn to ride first before they start to ride the big bikes. They want less deaths in traffic. I must say that it is not a bad decision. At least not the A2 restriction like this CB650R. There is also an A1 restriction, limiting the rider to 125cc and 15 hp. That is not enough. If you ask me it would not be bad for any rider in Europe, no matter the age, to start with at least 1 year A2 license. 48 hp can still go pretty fast and you don't even notice a big difference on urban and rural roads. You will start to notice it on the freeway.

"Speedometer" but it does not really matter what you use, it is just software to read the GPS chip.

CBR 500r is it 35 kw and 43 nm 188 kmh max speed ....but is faster than this...650 R 35 kw.

Yep bikes that are restricted tend to run less good compared to bikes that are 35kW full powered. Next to that a restricted 4 cylinder runs worse than a restricted 2 cylinder as a 4 cylinder gets its power from a higher rev band where it is restricted. Even the Kawasaki Z400 is faster than this CB650R. But wait until you remove the restriction... :) A twin cylinder bike is best for the A2 license, preferably in the 650cc+ range.

Gewoon rijden met begrenzing. Binnendoor is het niet echt sneller dan een vol vermogen 650cc, alleen op de snelweg merk je het. Daar mag je overdags nog maar 100. Gewoon lekker op A2 blijven rijden en dan na 2 jaar diezelfde motor ontgrenzen voor meer vermogen. A2 is geen straf. Tenzij je 200 wil knallen op de snelweg, maar in NL ben je dan snel je rijbewijs kwijt.

That is what happens if it is restricted. But don't forget the 250rr has no pulling power. This pulls so much faster/stronger. I'd rather have a 650cc restricted to 150 km/h than a unrestricted 250cc that can go 180 km/h, just because of the torque.

@@MotoSnax In my opinion, a mistake to buy that bike until you are free of the limiting license restrictions. Money wasted. I believe the stock CB500F meets the A2 restriction parameters. A great bike all around but an especially good learner bike.

No you are ignorant. This is a restricted 48 hp CB650R. Less hp, less torque. You might want to try Google to see what the A2 license is.
