Here on TheTopher, I'm known for putting a camera on my face and driving cars. Whether it's about any of my personal cars or reviews on weekly press vehicles, the goal is to give you an idea of what a certain car is like to drive or live with. Most of my videos are filmed in POV, with my clothes on, and (for like the 5th time) with in-ear binaural audio. Which, if I haven't made it clear yet, is why you should wear headphones. Because of the whole "woah" factor. It's there, trust me. Try it, it's pretty nuts. Or don't. As long as you whitelist me on your adblocker I'm okay with whatever you do or don't do with regards to headphone usage. That is all. Oh and I guess you should also probably subscribe. One of the most gorgeous cars ever made. It's still stunning that Lexus was able to match the LF-LC concept car so closely and actually improve it from there. They went above and beyond.

I work for Lexus so I’ve driven next to everything in existence that came out within the last 20 years. When I had the LC500 for around 2 hours, I realized that it took almost 30 years to perfect the formula of performance while giving quality while also giving RELIABILITY, in a car that looks 90% of what the concept was (how often do you see that) and the upshift crackle is better than any ZF or dual clutch fart. This car, Toyota/Lexus, don’t change a thing but the infotainment with time. The looks will NEVER go out of style, the engine will run like a top at 100,000 miles, the maintenance cost will be a fraction compare to the Germans. No other car is this well rounded and perfect, no other.

I disagree. They can always update the engine minimally to squeeze an extra 10hp and tune the overall cars suspensions and transmission for a sportier feel. Small but effective changes can help.

If money was no object. I'd love a V8 but fuel prices are getting very expensive where I live. I can just about tolerate the economy of the 3.7l V6 in my Z. Thank god its fun to drive lol

21 years of perfection with my '98 LS 400. I really don't find the new "styling" at all appealing and prefer that an engine and drivetrain function as silently and smoothly as possible. I will never return to (relative) German junk. But I avoid Lexus dealer "service", too.

I think this car is one of the most beautiful cars on the road today... and that exhaust note is intoxicating. I love how it sounds between gear changes. Lovely car, just wish I made 2.5x the money I do right now so I could comfortably afford one. Great review as always, Chris.

I would take this over any Aston, AMG GT, or BMW 8 Series for a grand touring coupe. That NA V8 sound gives me constant eargasms.

@@brandonanderson5910 In the US the LC 500 is cheaper for similar features as the Carrera S. You add a few options to your Porsche and it gets over $120,000 pretty quickly. But, having driven a Porsche, I don't think I'd blame you for choosing it, either. They are just judged so well in terms of tuning. The Lexus sacrifices a bit of that for reliability. It's priorities really. You can't go wrong.

Saw one in person for the first time today and had to follow him for minute to get a good look. Still had a temp tag. Pulled up beside him and gave him the thumbs up. Was on my Yamaha MT-10, so of course we had a little fun for a few minutes.

I have an RCF with carbon fiber/TVD in molten pearl. I had the chance to drive and decide for an LC500 used (used similar price) before I purchased the RCF as I wanted that high-revving V8. Stock exhaust is way better on the LC500. Feels more much richer in the cabin. RCF stock you hear lots of engine noise, but not much exhaust. LC500 has more luxurious and modern interior and most really love the concept car look. However, RCF's 370 lbs lighter weight and smaller size really made it very noticeable both in straight lines and turns. RCF also feels stiffer. I put on a full aftermarket exhaust to address the exhaust issue so it is no longer an issue. RCF felt sportier as it accelerated faster and handled better. Although, the transmission seems more modern on the LC. It became clear, Lexus was aiming for more grand touring for the LC while the F is less about luxury and more about the performance. Cannot go wrong with either as they both have some of the best Lexus engineering, but being young and looking for sportier over luxury drive, I chose the RCF.

You need to get one with a tan or brown interior. Really showcases the interior wayyy more. The black is nice but I think the tan option is much nicer.

Rajkiran Natarajan the SL has been the same for ages, which is true for all other Mercedes 2 seat convertibles. I’ve noticed that the SL also rides far harsher but not that much of a difference in sportiness unless you go for the AMGs. This is probably due to the lack of sales for those convertibles, making it not very viable to develope or even face lift the model.

Ah I absolutely LOVE this car. I also appreciate that its basically a reliable, lower(ish) maintenance super car. Absolutely stunning looks. Funny enough, despite the V8 and all that power it gets better MPGs than my Toyota FJ Cruiser!

Reminds me so much of my '95 sc400. Comfortable cruiser that makes you want to get into trouble just to hear that straight piped 4.0 v8. I am suprised that they both have the touchy brakes though, you need to press the brake with you heel on the floor for it to be a smooth engagement.

I love the style of coupe, and I need enough power. I drived corvette, C63S, but I think those are too loud and the suspensions are too hard for me. I'm not a performance and track guy, but sometimes I enjoy the exhaust noise but not all time and I think this car is perfect for me as a daily driver.

Used LC’s are fetching 75-80K. It’s unfortunate Lexus is up against many cars in the 90-100K category. The double whammy the LC500 has against is actually the RC-F and GS-F used values for both of those cars have dropped below 50K either one of those cars can easily be picked up at low to mid 40k. I wouldn’t mind getting 5.0 V8 Lexus’s once it hits the mid 20K mark.

I get more like 30-32 mpg in my LC on the highway. If I drive it hard, it’s like 17 mpg. But Lordy is that V8 wail worth it.

Does Lexus tune their mode sport-oriented cars to feel the same? I feel like the way you described the braking as well as the automatic shifting in Sport+ applies to my IS as well. Braking is, yes, a bit touchy, but very confident once you get used to it. The "AI-Shift" that is used in Sport and Sport+ is honestly good enough for some back-road blasts, and I have done it a few times that way and been pleasantly surprised. And of course the IS with the 3.5-liter engine makes a good sound, not as good as the LC but for a V6, not bad at all. Honestly it sounds like the LC 500 kinda has the same personality as those lower-end F Sport cars but amped up to 11 in terms of performance - and probably comfort from the looks of that interior.

The best cars i ever drive : 1. Lexus LC 500 (fun to drive, a lot of power, amazing sound, best interior quality) 2. Audi A7 (luxury in cheap price, futuristic piano black interior, quite sound, good for family car and daily driver) 3. Range Rover Evoque (adventure car, good suspension)
