This review helped me tremendously. I bought this bow a few weeks ago, especially after watching this review, to replace my Hoyt Maxxis 31 which I was getting tired of. OMG I can't believe how good this bow is for the money. After shooting the 3B and getting it dialed in, my Hoyt has been put on the shelf for good. I bought it with the pro package and am very very happy with my purchase. I'm a PSE fan now.

I handled this bow down at the store tonight at 60lb with my 30" draw. Was fitted with a hefty stabiliser when I tested it, plus all the other bells and whistles in a ready to shoot config. Even being my 1st ever serious session with a compound bow and 60lb being a little much, plus using the store's crappy loaner arrows, I was getting some good grouping. The valley on it sells it for me over the Stinger. So comfortable. Super quiet.

Yes better than Stinger. Stinger shoots good so it gets to how much you want to spend. but I certainly shot it better than expected.

Thank you for the nice informative video! One question, how to make turning the 3-track binary cam system? There is so few information in the Internet. They are talking mostly about the hybrid system and almost nothing about the binary one. Some articles are describing the binary cam system as most modern and perfect system, but still not enough popular among the archers.

Hi Steve! Thank you for the great review! I have a question about this bow. I have took a look and investigated that the cams are not centered between the limbs and as well the string also. Is it problem for shooting or not? There is also one problem. The stoppers are touching the cables when you draw the string. So, after several shoots you have the steps on the cables, which look not good I think. What you can say about it? Thank you very much!!!

its a great bow! better than the evolve 28. the Drive 3b is just a 3 track binary vs the 4 track. and honestly this bow shots better than all of Bears flagships bows, the prime logic as well. PSE makes really good bows just different specs. light 7 inch bh and then you go the bow madness heavier and shorter bh. The polymer limb pockets are very good as well and I prefer them because they are lighter by far. the only beginner bow that pse honestly have is the Stinger. plus this cam system is easier to tune than a single cam system!!! and its better. The only gripe I have with PSE is the camo pattern, its not all that good. stretched out on the bottom and top of the riser. they can do a better job and they know they can. Now Bear Archery is really good at dipping with no stretch marks.

@ArcherySuppliesLonsdale5 жыл бұрын
I had a customer with a Power max - he traded for a Prevail. He then purchased a Drive as a muck around bow and shot better scores with it than his Prevail, so he traded in the Prevail. I have not shot the Approach, I think the Approach will shoot well.

Just watched the review of the Elite 2019 Revol…………. group still not as good as this! I bought the stinger because of how well Steve shot it. so tempted to buy this. Only thing is my taget set up gets neglected and jumping from bow style to bow style reduces my scores. I find each bow has its own personality and the archer has to get to know the bow well to shoot to full potential. that said...…...the 3b is very appealing based on that!

@wcwcgarner27173 жыл бұрын
Yes they are plastic.
@bredygtigtrning27715 жыл бұрын
you often say that which bow people should get, depends on their budget. But surely it must be possible to review bows without taking their price into account. For example, how many procent are the drive better than the stinger, and the evoke better than the drive. maybe 25%... then people can decide on whether they want to spend 2x the money on a 25% quality increase. Thanks for all your reveiws :)
@ArcherySuppliesLonsdale5 жыл бұрын
I think budget is important because from the top to the bottom of the range the bows all shoot well. I shot this Drive very well. I sell the Stinger $470 but I now have last years Drive I am clearing for $500. For $30 extra the Drive is a better bow because it is faster but I am not saying you will shoot better with it. You look at the models and the prices available and say to yourself what you want. I would like metal limb pockets but how much extra will that cost for example. I would like a 35" bow but how much will that cost. I would like the bow to be 35" and under 4lbs in which case you are at a Carbon Stealth $1900. But can you justify those things for the extra $1200. Even the Unleashed over the Drive - slightly longer bow $200 extra.

@scotteger62714 жыл бұрын
I've shot both and I'm not an expert by any means, but I do think it's the draw cycle of this bow that reduces the speed. The draw feels nothing like the Hoyt...its much smoother and much lighter at the same weight...the valley is also a lot different and it's so relaxed at full draw where the Powermax feels edgy. I'm not a Hoyt or PSE fan so hopefully this comes across as unbiased. I honestly never thought I'd like a PSE but ended up falling for the bigger brother to this, the Drive XL.
