Thanks for taking time to help us on this feature. Basically, the air suspension is just for compensating to level with a load. I think a lot of people would like to think an air suspension will give 3/4 ton trucks a 1/2 ton ride. You put that myth to rest. No it does not. I think that comment was the most important part of your video.

Nice truck. I've moved up to a 2019 3500 Laramie Sport HO AISIN dually with auto level rear air. I have a slide in truck camper. Best truck I ever owned. Takes the camper with no additional modifications. Also gets excellent fuel economy. Great video showing how the Susp works for the Ford and GM guys on the fence. I was a Chevy guy until 2016. I have three Ram Heavy Duties in my felt now.

Been told when loading / unloading to have the transmission in neutral, parking brake on, tires checked. To prevent potential transmission damages. Thoughts ???
@HaloHamstur4 жыл бұрын
Not a bad idea since loading the trailer can make the truck rock back and forth and put stress on the transmission

This is a very good idea when loading heavy equipment as the truck rocking can cause dmg in the parking pawl.

Very envious of your truck man! looking at upgrading my truck soon. Thinking of the 2500 cummins or ecodiesel 1500. I don't do any real heavy towing but I do tow often and will be using my truck for my commuting to work. Theres no doubt the 2500 would be the longer lasting rig but not sure I can afford or justify it..
@RockyRohde3 жыл бұрын
I would rather drive a 1500 for daily. I had the eco and hemi 1500 5th gen. I would buy the 3.92 hemi again. Better acceleration and less worries. If you tow often get a 2500 for sure. Once a month 1500 is nice

Hey Rocky Rohde--love your truck and tractor. This video rocks..., as it is one of the most informative videos on towing and explanation of the 2500 air suspension that I have seen. Thank you for taking the time to make it. One question I did not see an answer to that I was hoping you could let me know--what size Carli lift do you have--the 2.5 inch or 3.25 inch? Pintail, Commuter or Backcountry? I'm looking to put either/or on my 2021 Dodge Ram 2500 Longhorn that I just purchased. Will run 35's BFG KO2s on the stock rims. Let me know as soon as you can. Thank you---David (Pilot--USAF, Retired)

i got it on a 2013 1500 i bought new i hate to tell you its going to break if you keep it for any amount of time.. looks like you are in warm part of the US but that sound is the system sucking in air behind your right tail light when it does that it lets moisture into the system and when it gets really cold it will freeze.. in my experience they cant "fix" the spring WHEN it starts to leak they just replace them and its not cheap.... but then again mine is first gen maybe they fix them

I’ve owned a 2500 with air ride for almost 2 years “worst mistake ever” the air ride will begin to give you all kinds of problems right about 2-3 yrs even the dealer techs don’t know what to do. You bring your truck for service and every time they have a different story about what’s causing it. Do yourself a favor “STAY AWAY FROM ANY KIND OF AIR RIDE”

That's not true. The system is a closed system that is filled with nitrogen. Read up on it.
@drews54592 жыл бұрын
@@JasonS_IN317 you can read up on it bud.. it's closed unless there is a leak then it has the ability to bring in outside air and you can hear it.. sounds like an air break system on a big rig... in other news that truck got a knock the other day 180,000 miles so i ordered a raptor.. good luck (the rocker panels rusted out it's fully loaded)

I just ordered almost the exact truck and going to put a lift on it. I am planning on using the AEV lift which provides front and rear lift, which should lift the truck 2-3 (they say it's a 3" lift). I can't figure which of those two numbers is correct because of the rear air system. How much lift did it give you? I've run a two inch level kit on the front of my truck for years which allowed me to run 35" tires on the stock wheels.

Question I have gasser ram2500 4x4 rear air suspension towing 9500 pound 35 foot travel trailer. No one has described to me how to use equalizer 4 weight distribution hitch without the ram air suspension taking the load off the bars thereby defeating the purpose of equalizer sway control. Anyone figured out how to set wdh up on this truck?
@JasonS_IN3172 жыл бұрын
I did it on my 2019 3500. I repositioned the head to compensate for the suspension raising and taking load off of the bars. The truck may level itself but it's not a replacement for a weight distributing hitch so the front of the truck will still lift some without it. Measure your front end to make sure it stays level. It took me a couple adjustments but works great.
