I just bought a 2019 Ram 2500 Tradesman Crewcab with the 6.4. The model I bought had the Level 2 interior, chrome package, safety group, and bed utility group, and it is absolutely perfect. Just the right amount of gadgets without the cost of the Big Horns and higher end models. The 8 speed tranny is superb, and this truck rides better than my 2014 Tundra did. Nice review!

I just bought this truck (almost identical. I have snow chief/ off-road pkg in diamond black) Rubber floors, HD vinyl. The vinyl is so nice that if I didn't tell you, you'd think it is leather I traded in a 14 Ram QC, 5.7, 8 speed. I am sold on the 8 speed. The 6.4 8 speed is a BEAST, especially for a gas motor. Ram is killing it with this truck. Mileage is averaging 15-17mpg but that's 800 miles of mixed driving. \

Nice Truck! Made me realize how much my 3500 has that I just took for granted. Sounds great. Love that torque. I just wish the turning radius was tighter on my 3500. Maybe your turning radius is better than the 3500. I came from a Tundra, and that had a super turning radius. Yes, I’d get the 2500, before the 1500, but I pull a travel trailer, and sometimes a. Utility trailer.

I wanna purchase this truck. They look very nice but are they reliable and are they still rust buckets?
@Buck19545 жыл бұрын
That's enough truck for me. One of things that bother me is no floor box in the rear floor. Hate to spend a bunch of money for them though. I'm not interested in a hot rod, but a truck that will pull my trailer on occasion without killing my wallet. No, I don't want the diesel. We see a lot of big 5th wheels coming into the park being pulled by these 2500 6.4s. That truck will pull my trailer with weight left over. I don't like the trailer mirror, but can live with it. Why does the 5 link rear suspension disappear when ordering a box delete? I'm considering an aftermarket bed because I can't get the Ram Box with the 5th wheel option. I'm also looking at switching to the new air ride gooseneck for my trailer. Was that truck equipped with the 3:73 axle?

I really, really like that truck. Very strong yet very "straight forward". Also, RAM pre installs at the factory all of the wiring behind the center stack, so if you wanted to purchase the 8" center stack with Navigation etc, you could very easily and the same with the instrument cluster. RAM really makes their vehicles user (owner) friendly to upgrade. Great truck and GREAT review!

Half ton truck is all you need, try a use 5.3 6 speed auto Chevy or a 6.2 f150.unless you're looking for new, then the 5.0 ten speed is the best you can do for that much towing

Dont get a 1/2 ton for that trailer. Terrible idea. I tow a 35' 7k lb trailer with my ram 1500 and I'm now shopping for a 2500. If you're dry weight 8k lbs you'll appreciate a 3/4 ton for controlling that load.
@franksanna2174 жыл бұрын
Tony Wright , I’m with Tony on this one. I have a Ram 1500 Hemi and towing a 34’ 8,000lb travel trailer and I added rear air bags which helped somewhat. I’ve been looking at 2500’s since my camper purchase. It’s a lot of tongue weight for a 1/2 ton truck. Power wise, the Hemi rocks! Only need 1/2 throttle pulling out on the freeway. It’s just a lot of payload for a 1/2 ton truck
@clarksvilletnlandscapingse69852 жыл бұрын
I hope you got a 3/4 ton. Yeah, the 1/2 ton works but think about having to jerk the rig out of a near accident. I did the other day and the 2500 never acted like it had a 30 ft trailer behind it. Think weight and suspension of truck not just engine.

I purchased a 2018 2500 6.7 Cummins Tradesman Crew cab. Excellent truck. So far love the engine and exhaust brake ! The truck came with carpet, rear camera, back up sensors. The dealer put heated seat elements(same as factory) and factory sliding rear window as part of the deal. Push button four wheel drive. Fifth wheel tow PKG , factory bed spray liner. Excellent bang for the buck. 57k sticker and got it for 47k. With that Cummins engine it is an incredible bargain . The loaded up Rams are gorgeous but the cost just isn't worth it for me . The 2500 makes more sense if you tow more. The Cummins handles the loads easily.

@junkey55 I appreciate that. I really do. BUT, I don't like the puck shifter. Personal preference.
@dieselmutt88654 жыл бұрын
Because these trucks now have a heavy duty version of the ZF transmission the half tons have. It's ZF not Ram/Chrysler that imposes the puck shifter. The ZF is an awesome transmission so the pettiness of the puck shifter is minor. I have a '17 Ram half ton and you get used to it pretty fast.
