Today I test drive the new and facelifted Land Rover Range Rover P400e Autobiography Plug-in Hybrid. How does the biggest and most expensive Range Rover drive with it's new hybrid drive train?

My 2018 Range Rover Sport turbo Diesel how has 16K, guess how many problems? Zero. Everyone wants to play the reliability card. Maybe so with RRs in past history. But people are judging modern RRs with preconceived notions from the past.

How can you say about reliability of your RR, if it ran just 16k? If it has 100k and didn't break down then you'd say RR isn't money pit car!

So, you have an anecdote from one (1) car that so far has worked perfectly fine. And you think that proofs? Has anyone ever claimed that EVERY Range Rover breaks every other week?

Now my RR has 38k Miles. Still has never had a problem.

Hi Kris. Would be interesting if you could compare the Autobiagraphy to the XC90 Excellense!? The Excellense compares to the RR LWB and has the same level of trim etc.

I've had four new Range Rovers and a Discovery over the years. A friend has a RR Velar with that two layer centre display and active buttons on the steering wheel. Another friend has a Bentley Bentayga V12. None are hybrids and only the Bentayga is petrol. All but one of my Range Rover's were diesel. The Range Rover is superb. No ifs. No buts. However I'm not sure I would trust them with a plug-in hybrid. Must say that value for money compared to the Bentayga is great, but on the other hand the Bentayga is the better quality vehicle overall. In all honesty, in any of the above vehicles I would choose the V6 or V8 Diesel engines. However I am in the UK, not Norway and there are different tax issues.

Bentley is part of the VW group! On the contrary, JLR is owned by Tata Motors which is indian! Indians are making big things! This generation of RR is excellent

💯💯💯Range Rover!!! The Volvo is the best in His clasa and is the best comparative to the german brands But the Range Rover is the edge of the brand!!!

I used to have a fully loaded XC90 V8 and with exception of the fixed headrest (it pushed my head forward), loved that car. But would trade up to a Range Rover Autobiography in a heartbeat if I could afford it.

That Range Rover is nice, but it would be a shame to see the XC90 go. How has the reliability of your T8 XC90 been Kris? I’m about to pull the trigger on a Bursting Blue Metallic XC90 T8 R Design. I’m coming out of a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 that has been absolutely bulletproof and I worry a little bit about the realibility of the complex twin engine powertrain in the T8.

Good, honest review, enjoyed watching, think of a Range Rover as a Bentley that can go anywhere but more practical, a car with a pedigree second to none, a true iconic engineering marvel that is complicated and expensive to look after, but leaves you feeling special even if it's a short trip to the super market or completely confident you will always get to where you need to be, no matter what Mother Nature throws at you, you know you want one!

*Hate when people consider Rovers cars. It's not a unibody chassis guys. It's a truck. Or at least say SUV. It is no car*

People forget that this vehicle is a real off-roader and not just a road-biased SUV like the Bentley, Volvo, BMW, and Rolls Royce. However, when was the last time anyone did a proper off-road and on-road test of these cars? In reality, this car is a vanity statement for the buyers.

My brother-in-law ones one ( diesel) after he had several BMW’s. I agree, it is a very beautiful and impressive car, looks very well made, but at the same time is is extremely expensive to maintain (and it believe me it needs a lot of maintenance as reliability is surely not its strongest point....). So he will be replacing it by something else, probably a BMW again, the running cost of his car drive him mad.......

Yeah, I know that Range Rovers out of warranty isn't the safest bet. That's why I would never buy one without a warranty :)

I had a BMW X5 before my last Range Rover and found the Range Rover to be far more reliable. In fact it had zero issues over two years whereas the BMW had to be carried back to the dealer three times after it left me stranded. There is, of course, an element of luck and timing with the purchase of a reliable car. Never buy one of the first year's production of a brand new design.

No, Kris, I think you should stick to your Volvo XC90! It definitely is more reliable and should be closer to your, well, Scandinavian roots, right? ;)

I will always have a Volvo in my life and on the channel, so you guys don't have to worry :) But it would be fun to change things up a bit. Maybe swap the XC90 for a Range Rover, and the then the A4 for a V60 Cross Country ;)

Yes kris your Chinese Volvo is so much more reliable lol wake up and smell the coffee, a Range Rover is in a different class

Magnidti Magnidti well my Chinese Volvo is engineered by Swedes and manufactured using Swedish and Norwegian materials in Sweden. So what part is Chinese about it again? 🙈😂
