This is music to my ears. Who knew Honda would be the one to put an end to Mercedes’ domination, especially when during a 2016 press conference Alonso joked about having equal engines for everyone and Hamilton laughed it off by saying “Definitely not, and definitely not Honda”. Aged well.

The unsung heroes of the 2019 season. If Red Bull got to “grips” with the Honda engine, makes McLaren look pretty stupid in comparison.

Mclaren hasn't designed a chassis of note since 2012. Yes honda was bad, but it wasn't as bad as it's made out to be. Mclaren lost to williams with a mercedes PU in 2014. Let that sink in.

@@Bahamuttiamat Also, the packaging of the Honda engine was just too tight in McLaren. Honda got more freedom with how they package their engines at RB, now it's much more reliable and powerful.

@Juris Maclang Exactly, the size zero concept was mclaren's idea that was forced on honda. RBR was smart enough to give them space to build a fast/reliable motor. It's probably better than renault's atm.

Hey, don't be sad! They're still using Honda engines with Honda's F1 engine programme being absorbed into Red Bull as an in-house thing. Same engineers, just closer to home. Let's hope they keep making amazing engines, since they're way above everyone else's sonically.
