It is, I don't think the Honda engine is really letting it down, it's much more of the car I think

I think Honda in 2016 was supposedly at the speed of a Renault, decently fast but not as strong the top engine, I think the MP4-31 chassis is the one letting McLaren down

@@clemfandango2379 just chassis, jost Capito whose now Williams CEO, pointed the 2016 mp4-31 had some Big problems in it's technical side and McLaren of Ron dennis ousted him for that

Im gutted they threw him out of f1. He showed great talent later in endurance racing. Damn you Helmut Marko, manages to find diamonds in dirt only to look at them for a week then throw them away if they arent Vestappen 2.0 within a year

​@@angel.3006the 2017 redesign is what brought them back to the front. They changed concept because the 2015-2016 design was reaching its peak output and had to. That was from a Honda employee on the forums around that time.

That's exactly what it is, and frankly, I was never really a fan of it, except maybe on the Renault with its straight-cut-gearbox esq whine as the driver went up the gears. Though this year they seem to have got rid of it, as the engines sound more like they did from 2017 and before.

Agreed. I can't believe they ban Cvt, removed auto gearbox, removed TC, replaced those old grippy tyres with very slow slidy grip less tyre, and removed launch control. Now the car are so much easier to drive without all of these stuff.
