Why dont you guys just come out and say it. The suzuki king quad is a workhorse versatile machine. Its meant for work through the week and play or trail riding on the weekend. The people who buy these are not looking for a race horse. When people throw down their hard earned cash they are not looking for a $15,000 1 year thrill ride, they are looking for a machine they can still drive, use and depend on 20 years down the road.

Japanese companies know the line between reliability and power. Polaris and Can Am have 1000cc big horsepower quads...and stay broke. The engine has enough power to tear up the quad it’s sitting in. Japan seems reluctant to put engines in that are capable of self destructing when abused and damaging their reputation for lasting forever. Old quads lasted 30 years because they weren’t strong enough to tear themselves up. Personally I think it’s a smart move. I’d rather have a reliable bulletproof ATV than the most horsepower. I grew up when a 300 was considered a “ big” quad so if I can’t get it done with 7-800cc I might as well quit

diesel_doll I had a can am XMR 1000 and i hated it....i swapped it for a Grizzly 500 and never regretted it one bit...that can am was the biggest money pit...tie rods, brakes, axels, etc...for 10,000+ dollars u shouldnt have to upgrade parts for beefier ones right off the showroom floor...i had 75 miles on mine and i had a broken tie rod, and needed new brakes...i just did normal trail riding and an OCCASIONAL little mud pit...they look nice, but i just dont think theyre built as well as the Japanese build them...

Love KingQuads, just bought a 2020 750Axi, ONLY because a tree fell on my 2009 KingQuad 500. I had 4000 miles and 400Hours on my old 500. Did everything that I asked for it, and reliable as hell.

The only thing I would disagree with in the video is this. The 2019 King Quad 750 SE+ is designed for aggressive trail riding. It is not a sport quad, but in between that and the larger utility quads from Polaris and Can-am. I have driven the Grizzly (old and new) and Renegade 1000. With OEM "sized" radial tires, it performs similar to the Renegade with exception to the acceleration and top speed (and better than the Grizzly overall). If you want to add large mud tires and go swimming maybe the large displacement V-twin atvs are a better choice. Although the King Quads are very reliable and handle mud abuse fine. Watch "Team WMD" ice racing videos if you want to see how hard you can ride the old 2005 version. The 2019 has many significant improvements over the first generation 2005 KQ 700 and good improvements over the more recent KQ 750. $8200 out the door price. It's time to upgrade if you are a fan of the the King Quad's reliability.

The Can-am may lead the pack on the start, but seems to always come back on the end of a rope. What these people don't take into consideration is the fact that when we pay so much for a ATV WE WANT IT TO LAST. If you want a wheeler that will take you there and back, time and time again, you might want a Suzuki !!

Good video. Just picked up a 2021 750 SE King Quad myself and I am loving it so far. I wanted something to plow with and do everyday yard work while having good power for the occasional weekend tearing it up on the trails, but those 1000cc monsters just seem crazy to me im not trying to get myself killed out there lol. Reliability was my #1 consideration and while I hear the NA brands have come a long ways, I want this thing to last forever if im going to drop $11k on it. Very happy with my purchase so far

The older I get, the less I care about high horsepower. So what they didn't go with a bigger displacement twin motor, much like Honda and Yamaha, you're buying a Suzuki for the dependability. Heck, my father in-laws '92 king quad has never had a tune up, exhaust is rotted out, has questionable suspension, racks are bent, plastics are cracked, seat torn to shreds but you can always count on it to do work and never let you down...and still easily pull a house off it's foundation hahah.

I ride long distances across deserts or mountains and I'm gone for weeks or months at a time in the middle of no where hundreds of miles away from anyone. I carry everything with me to survive and I want a machine that's reliable and gets great gas mileage and will get me home.The KingQuad has been unbelievable. I've had it a couple of years with no problems. No it's not a V-Twin powered machine with so much power because that's not what I need. It's fun to play in the mud and be crazy playing but if you breakdown you better hope your near home. I usually am not. You should have let two ordinary guys test this quad and not a couple of racers because you know they won't like it as well as a racing equipped quad. I am on trails and fire roads and trails I have to go very slow on so I won't flip over. Good review anyway. I love the Suzuki KingQuad 750.

Why do they test these kingquads like race machines? Why do they whip them on racetracks? Why do they complain about not having a V-Twin with more horsepower? This is not a quad for you if you want to do these things. Wrong quad, plain and simple. This is a workhorse and a comfortable cruiser, period. And it is the king at that. Even the 722cc engine is big for cruising and working. Having a 850cc or 1000cc would be utterly useless. Maybe next time you could test a Yamaha YFZ450 as a farm implement? Your review is well made and still interesting but always wanting more power, more displacement must stop someday. Suzuki doesn't want to play in that extreme performance market, hence not having that renegade/scrambler look.

I said why in the video. We get a small amount of time on the machine. I want to put as much hard time on the machine as I can to replicate the amount of wear it might receive by ridden normally over a long period of time. I try to break it so I can find a weak point - so I can tell you what you might look out for.

Now that we determine you call it like it is and I did see you reviewed the Grizzly back in 2016. Which do you like more the Suzuki or the Yamaha? The red flags for me based on your review with the Suzuki is bottoming out and with the Grizzly is over heating issues. Was wondering your thoughts.
@ATVScene
@ATVScene 6 жыл бұрын
I like the Grizzly better, but there is something about the KingQuad -- I've been a fan of the machine (besides that one pesky turn in blemish it has) since 2005. Both are excellent choices. Also know that Yamaha shelved their new 708cc and decided to go back to their old 686cc for 2019. I don't have all the details at this time, I think they just went back to their old cylinder head and slightly reduced bore and stroke.. and for some reason it looks to only have two valves instead of four. I haven't found out if that is true or not, but it does not list it as a four valve head on their site. Even with this strange setback, I have to think it's still an incredible machine, not much has changed since they completely revised it in 2016 other than this strange cc reduction. Maybe look for a new-old-stock 2018 Grizzly?? Bottom line, shop for your best deal between the KingQuad or Grizzly and you will be happy with your choice for many years.

Ty John really appreciate your input. Last question is the rear shocks bottoming out a factor or not noticeable. I ride slow trail most times but sometimes a little spirited. Does the Grizzly bottom out like the KQ. Thanks again for your input. I really appreciate your help with which to buy
@ATVScene
@ATVScene 6 жыл бұрын
It's a lot of money to spend. If I were you I would try to ride both of them. But even if you don't I think you will be very happy with either machine. The KingQuad feels more plush, but it will bottom easier than the Grizzly if pushed hard. The three of us in the video gave it no slack. Very few people will punish it like we did. Doug and Ken are pro 4x4 racers.. The Grizzly took hard landing (aka jumping the machine) better. Hope this helps some.

One correction from the video. The SE+ tires are Carlisle "4 ply" bias tires. They are just acceptable and safe enough for aggressive riding (compared to better radial tires like Bighorns). The old (2005-2007 KQ 700) 2 ply Dunlops were absolutely dangerous (packing peanut) tires that should be thrown away if you ride like the video.

The Suzuki Kingquad 750 and the Yamaha Grizzly 700 are great quads. This review is good to a certain point. You guys are riding and comparing these Utility Quads to racing and sport quads. Of course these do not have the suspension of the racing and sport quads. These suspensions will bottom out if you push them past there limit. The sport racing quads and Utility quads are a totally different quads. The Suzuki 750 is not made to do what you guys do. Get real. I love my utility quads but I also know their limit.

BRP's 1000's are like the crossover SUV's of the atv scene (see what i did there? 🙂), with their racing suspension, relatively light weight, wide track, well centralized mass and cutting edge active electronic aids working in tandem with suspension, transmission, engine, steering etc. It's a dohc 4 valve 4 stroke single cylinder with about 10:1 compression.. I think its probably up there with what's physically possible to achieve at this displacement and engine construction, i hope japanese manufacturers attempt to compete with BRP's liter quad twin cylinder engine entries with AWD, race quad suspension, but utilitarian ability.

You're asking them to change the whole segment. That's kind of foolish, just ask them to make a 4x4 race machine. Can't turn those big tires? It has how many horse power? Ask for a super 4x4 mud/race quad. That one is supposed to be fast.

Been watching your reviews and they are great. I know you love you’re grizzly. I’m going to buy a quad for the ranch, hunting there, and trail riding in east Texas where there will be mud holes. Not doing anything crazy in the mud though. My wife will be on the back with me once in a blue moon. Have it narrowed down to the sportsman 850, grizzly and King quad. I’ll never race or ride are hard as you do but my background is dirt bikes and love power; and I’ll need power for the mud. 27” all terrain tires is why I’m thinking I’ll need to turn. Comfort and something that’s not too fatiguing is important. Of my three what would you suggest and why? The grizzly is very appealing; the seat just seems not long enough for 2 people. That being said she would probably only be on with me playing around on the 420 acre ranch so not a deal breaker. Like I said the other day, love the channel!

I don't understand the comparison of the 750 to these 1000 CC quads. You might as well review a Honda recon 250 and complain that it's not a 500 And compare it to the 500's. It's A750 compare it to anything else in its class. And I also agree that these 1000 CC quads that are 15 grand I ridiculous and a 700 or 750 is plenty enough. I've actually iwned Honda's most all my life and the forman which is A 475 CC will do everything I need it to do.

Dirt ObseXXion it depends what your buying it for.. these are a farm quad and they do the whole farm quad thing as good or better than any other dedicated farm quad on the market. If your wanting a 1000cc trailblazer then its not your thing. The big American quads, can-am and Polaris Hardly last more than a season on a new Zealand farm with our consistent mud. They are fuked in less than a 1000 hours. These Suzukis will see you to 5000 hours in New Zealand conditions.

Yeah, I can understand that.. My statement was based on Suzuki saying they are avoiding the SXS market and going all in on the ATV. This just doesn't seem like "all in". Very underwhelming from a performance perspective. I don't doubt the reliability. I'm saying this as a Suzuki fan. I have had several of their motorcycles and currently have a GSXR. If its a farm quad fine.. But they're promoting "more aggressive styling and performance".

I think you should stick to one of the big four. I especially say that because you said your last ATV was a Kawasaki. I would bet in the 10 years you owned it you didn't need to do much other than change the oil and clean the air filter. I doubt you will get away with this kind of thing if you switch to a Can-Am or Polaris. If it were me I would go with a Yamaha or Suzuki.

That's probably one of the better-made ATVs from China, but personally, ATVs from the big four are too well-made to gamble. You get what you pay for. I personally would never buy an ATV made from China even if the price was half the cost. KingQuads are one of the most durable and long-lasting ATVs ever made, you can pay now or pay later. If the price is just too much maybe you can land a good used one. Regardless good luck and keep the rubber side down!
