You make a very good point, These type of bikes can get you in real trouble very very quickly. Most bikes now have so much electronics giving riders a real false sense of security and confidence in skill set, most riders (experienced) couldnt even push a 600-650cc to its limits let alone a 1000cc sports bike. I have been out with guys on honda cbr 1000, Yamaha r1's and to watch them sometimes is nerve wrecking to say the least..Would hate to see them on the likes of the 1000rr msport

I think its more of people riding street like a track. I see gravel, pot holes, etc and dudes putting knees down in tight cork screws. Those electronic features are for the road mostly and not for tracks.

And maybe from this people will understand that a new bike it’s not to be pushed but first find your limits . Good job guys . Subscribed

That's the key to these bikes is having a strong core so you don't put all the weight on your wrists. That's why most of us older riders have switched to the naked bikes. Even the hyper nakeds seem to have too much of a forward lean for me anymore. There closer to upright for us older out of shape guys, the better.

Great real world review, relevant to all riders highlighting what the bike can do from a road user rather than a track jockey. I agree the seat is very hard to sit on and the ergonomics are set up to be comfortable for a super sport when you compare it to lets say an R1.

thanks for the comments, although the speed limit is 70 in the UK and getting more than 6,000 rpm out of it even in first gear would take it well above (as explained in the video) not to mention my inexperience of riding such an immense powerhouse. If there was a racetrack nearby it would have been amazing to open it up!

BMW branded calipers are manufactured by Hayes Performance to BMW spec ... guessing outsourcing to Brembo in the volumes that BMW are now producing was getting very prohibitive (both volume delivery and costs) and probably puts BMW a little more in control of the process.

Great bike...wasted on the road. Gone are the days when you could really enjoy a bike like this on uk roads...you cant surely get any sense of what this is about unless on track? I think "617 miles" is the bike's mileage Toby and not the fuel range. I wonder how reliable it will prove to be with so much electronic gubbins on it and how far down the road bmw will support it? I think bmw have done for hyper sports bikes what Honda did when they first brought the Fireblade out. Makes you wonder where it will all stop in a shrinking sportsbike market? You do the politest of reviews Toby which is refreshing compared with some out there

@@RiderCamTV Either give it a proper test or not bother at all. I'm not suggesting you break the law on the roads. A machine like this needs to be taken onto a racetrack and ridden at high speeds before you can pass judgement on it's qualities. I don't mean to offend anyone but I believe you should stick to touring machines.

thanks for the comments Mick, but as you know there are few racetracks in Cornwall (infact none). thanks for the comments.. there is always the off switch of course, and as we constantly say on the videos, we ride them and talk about how we find them. 99% of people arent going to ride them on a track (and if we could have we would have indeed). Most people are going to go on the road. This is an awesome bike and sorry to hear that you didnt like the video, although i am sure that there will be others on youtube that will 'float your boat' of speed and thrills and you are of course welcome to watch their videos.
