My absolute favorite BMW if I had to choose. The full M is great but 500hp for everyday city driving is pointless for me. 382hp with the right amount if pops and burbles is perfect.

I just purchased the 2020 X3 m40i. It is everything you guys state in the video. An absolute beast of a cart. I love mine, best vehicle I have ever driven. Loved the video & you showed me things I did not even know about with my car. I purchased mine in the blue with black interior. Yes, BMW have absolutely hit the spot with this car.

It’s awesome that you guys are mentioning the decibel readings at highway speeds. Noise level is such a big component of luxury and comfort and it’s good to get an objective measurement of that.

you driving a BMW , Sound is a part of this kind of "luxury" ... Lambos are also luxury cars . if you want to drive a silent bath tub on wheels , better to get a Cadillac ;) . ( I own a X4 M40i ) . also I may be a fake sound form the speakers , lemme check about that .

I owned a 2018 X3 M40i, and it would always put a smile on your face when behind the wheel. What I don’t like on this 2020 model is the backward tachometer, and the only way to get around that is buy a X3M. Fun, fun car.

You guys should also do a fuel economy test to see what it gets in real life and see if you can beat the epa estimates. Great review though!

I had the chance to drive this actual vehicle several months later on the Don Jacobs lot. Excellent SUV, unfortunately the dealership couldn't meet me for price, so I ended up saving about 3 grand by just building one.

I can see why this is the best seller for BMW but that's mostly for the 30i but the way that engine growls on that 40i, this thing is bonkers!

I own one of these (carbon black), picked it up February 2020. Great car. I had a 2017 X3 30d before, can’t even compare the two. The M40i is something completely different. However a bit disappointed that the 2020 version does not crackle and pop as much as the 2018/2019 version.

Amit Srivastava Wow what a great car hey... my dad his one in Glacier silver with the m performance rims.... It is amazing how quick it is. In fact my dad just raced a Previous generation x6M and he told me that in first gear he had the x6 in second the x6 pulled it back and in third the X3 pulled away...What is your interior color?

Thanks! We didn't specifically test out the lane keeping assist but during our highway drive it didn't interfere or do anything abrupt like some systems do

I was very close to pulling the trigger on one before all this Covid-19 stuff hit. I'm just worried because so many people seem to think BMWs are nothing but money pits and always need repairs. And I'm not a leasing type of person. I want a car that I can keep for 10 years or more.

@@CarConfections Alpine White w/ prem pkg, driving ast pkg, parking ast pkg, HK sound, 20"s. Would have loved to have black leather w/blue stitch or cognac but none on the lot but gotta say the Sensatec on the new models are really nice! No adaptive suspension either. Dealer actually gave a great offer on an X3M but honestly, it would have been a waste as a daily. Not to mention probably teeth-rattling for LA roads. All in all, great great car. This coming from a former Macan S owner!

@@anw9485 I just picked up a lightly used '21. I can't find any with the dynamic suspension. Dealers couldn't even configure them with it anymore. Not sure why BMW did away with it...I could have used the softer ride, but I'll change the tires from the run flats on the 21'' wheels it has. Aside from a few small issues, it's a great little SUV.

@@JoeJacksonGT3 Congrats! Adaptive suspension seems to be a pretty rare spec on the Pre-LCI models. I believe it's standard for the 22 LCI so that might be why it's not in the online configurator. But due to chip shortage a lot of add-on features are temporarily unavailable. Enjoy the car! I'll also add that since my original post from when I picked up the car new in 2020, I've had a 2021 SQ5 as our second car and replaced that with a 2022 GLC43. So I currently have the 20 M40i and a 22 GLC43. The M40i is still something special. You made the right choice!

@@anw9485 Thanks! I owned a GLC63 AMG for a year. Loved it, but then moved into an E63s wagon. Loved that more lol. This was precovid, and used car prices skyrocketed, so I took advantage of it. When can you get into an AMG and sell it for a profit...not often. Any how, our needs changed, we downsized and I wanted something playful, but not over the top like the 63 models. I was very familiar with the Merc, but wanted to try something different. The M40 is the right balance for me.

The main thing to consider is that this is definitely a better drivers car. Outside of that, both are very nice and would probably come down to personal preference

Rip Dorkle there you go. If you had any intelligence at all, you would realize that people who can properly afford to buy these cars either keep them for 4 years so they’re always under warranty, or lease them so they’re always under warranty. I’ve owned many Audi’s and BMWs, and have never had major issues with any of them, the exception being one of my Audi’s that needed an engine rebuild after only 65,000 kilometres. But all my bimmers have been major problem free.

Philip Pernice no car in this class has rear ventilated seats you absolute and utter tool. Even in the class above this, most don’t have ventilated rear seats.

The M40i is not faster than the GLC 63. The Mercedes has over 500hp. They're not in the same category.

Only a company as arrogant as BMW can charge $500 for 50 cents worth of cheap Chinese plastic and circuitry for wireless charging that Mazda/Honda/Subaru et al. include in their higher-end models at no extra charge.🙄
