Hands down the BEST ALL AROUND vehicle and for the money. Coming from a M3 owner and X3 M40i owner. This car is hands down the most practical. BMW kinda shot themselves in the foot cause this SUV has power that’s so perfect it putting numbers where it shouldn’t. Fuel economy is great, power is more that efficient, faster than Civic Type R’s and Sti’s. BMW didn’t realize they made this so good, it’s hard to beat. The X3 M Competition with all its 500 hp isn’t that much better yet sucks gas worse than a hooker on a mission.

Just got the 2021 x3 m40i. Put about 200kms on it already, loving every second I'm in that car. It's fun, sporty and helps my wife get from point A to point B for daily commute. Love it!

I have a 2018 X3 M40i and I love it. It’s the perfect vehicle for my life. Fast, useful and pretty.

We have owned an X3 M40i since June, 2020 and absolutely love it, we purchased it new and it is sheer driving pleasure. Last weekend we purchased a new X2 M35i and it has very similar power and handling. Both vehicles are truly awesome to drive. Love your reviews Thank you

I have a near identical X3 but a 2.0d M sport -- still plenty of performance and pretty reasonable MPG too. Great vehicles a good blend of quality, comfort handling and load carrying.

The new G05 X5 platform is very noticeably more luxurious and high end feeling in its materials and build design. It also has the option for the true BMW higher end options that is not offered in the X3 line up. That is really the big class difference between the X3 and X5 besides the size.

I wound plan to expect a bigger sticker price. My 2019 is gently optioned and stickered for $62,000. I'm without adaptive cruise control, have 19" wheels and no heated rear seats.

I would like to see a comparison with the Alfa Stelvio TI...Cheers!

Took it for a test drive, it was stealthy quick, everything I expected. One issue though was the exhaust noise. Cold startup was throaty but as it warmed up it quieted down. Normal city driving was good mainly because speeds were low. With all the promo on the quiet comfort of the BMW ride, at highway speeds you could not escape the bellowing of the exhaust, even at cruising. I ran without any radio on and just a low fan speed for the air. It sounded more like a sports car than an SUV or SAV in BMW lingo. As much as I loved everything else, especially the power, the exhaust noise was not what I was looking for in a highway cruise. I am compelled to drop down to the four cylinder. The run flats are another cause for concern, but it would take too long to discuss my analysis on that!

I got the Q7 for me and my wife is complaining because I don't let her drive it much. I was gonna surprise her for her birthday with the new 2022 4 series M40i. She keeps telling me she doesn't like sedam. She likes SUVs. I never contemplated the X3 M40i. I have been studying this little SUV and I think this might be the right car. It drives like a Sedam and is still an SUV with lots of power.

I prefer my G02 , owned F25 before . G02 is more sportive

What do you think of it compared to the GLB 35? My local dealers have both and the the Mercedes is actually more money and has less power.

If you’re buying and pretty much specking it out, also planning to hang on to it including an extended warranty (also adding in sales tax and related drive it off the lot expenses), the total price is gonna be somewhat north of 73K.

It’s an m-lite/m performance x3. There is a true x3m which slots above this model.

"It offers the same enjoyment as the sports sedans in the BMW lineup". Not true. That sounds like BMW marketing speak. No SUV is the same driving experience as a comparable sports sedan. As a 440i M sport owner, the X3 m40i is nice, but not close to the same driving experience. It is 'good for an SUV' is how I would put it.

Keep in mind this rig takes 91 octane.

Love the M40i but it looks awful with those wheels and in white. 😔
